Our prompt from LindaGHill for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “sap/sep/sip/sop/sup.” Use one or all of these words or find a word that contains them, but most of all, have fun! Wondering what to do with “sep”? This is interesting: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=SEP Enjoy!
Sap rising means many things like goodness coming to the for, new beginnings but the literal meaning of the word refers to the life fluid of a tree, plant or animal (including humans). It can refer to strong feelings of love, lust, anger eg: he/she could feel the sap rising or he/she felt the sap draining out.
Looking at sip,sup and sop I am struck by the fact that they too refer to liquid or liquor. To sip a drink, to sup a drink ( old English version of sip) come to mind. Also and old English term is sop which refers to a drunkard,or alcoholic. As in, drunken old sop he had supped enough ale to sink a battleship. Or again in he could of sipped too much ale🤔.
That leaves us with sep now Linda found us an interesting meaning for that, to choose not to see a problem. Well people who sip and sup too much alcohol become a sop, they loose all their sap and the problem they have with drink to them is a sep.
Sep is also short for my special month September .
