Come on  in  it is nice  to  sit  and  have a  chat  after  all  the  hustle  and  bustle  of  the past  few days.   I  can  still entertain  you  all  with tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

So, If  we  were having  coffee :  I am not  sure  where  to  start I would  say  I  wish I was in my  pajamas ….. but  I  am  not  like  most  things  lately  I  don’t  get  what I  want. I  get  what is  good  for  me instead, or  even  worse  what  others  think is  good  for me!   Every man/woman  and his  dog  thinks  they  know better  than me. From  wrapping  me in  cotton  wool to  nagging  me  to  death!

If we were having coffee: I would  tell you  that  on  Monday  Hubby  and  I went  off  to  a little  town  about  thirty  miles  away  from  where  we live  just  to  get out  and  have  a break  from  the  stresses  of  Mother in  law   being  ill. We  also  took hubby’s  car  along  to  have it  serviced  at a  specialist  garage  there.

We walked  along  the canal  and looked  at  the  beautiful  cottages  and  Narrow Boats! We  found  the  Parish Church  called  St Lawrence, and  spent  a lovely  hour  looking  around inside  and  finding  out how old  and  steeped in  history  it  was! We  even met  a lady  who  was  also  “Just  visiting” and  she  told  us  she lived in  Devon  now  but had  originally  lived  just  three miles up  the road  from where  we live now! Well  what  are  the  chances  of  that!

Some  photos  of  our day.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

After  more  walking  we  found a lovely  coffee  shop  and  had a  cuppa  and  slice of  cake! We both  had  a  wonderful  time  and  we popped in to  see Mother in  law on our  way  home, she is  still doing  well!! Though  very  concerned  about  her  Lymphoma!

If we were having  coffee : Tuesday  I was  at  the  gym  but  I  had  decided  not  to  go  early  so  I  missed  my  gym buddy! Then  after  that  we  went  over  to  see  Mother in law  ( hereafter  to be  known as  MIL ) . Wednesday L, my  gym buddy  and  great  friend , and I  went  to  our  Pilates  class  which  was hard  work  as  ever  then  we had  coffee  and  a long  catch up! Then  again over  to  check out  MIL.

Thursday  I had  to  go  and  see  a  specialist , I have  been  having  a  lot  of  stomach  troubles  and  I  am  now  being  sick  a lot. I  have  had  all types of  exams and  finally  I  had  an ultrasound  scan  which  showed  that  I  have  a  lot  of  debris  in  my  gallbladder ………. I  was hoping  that  they  might  remove  my  gallbladder  well  after  three minutes  of  prodding  I  was  told  that  the  gallbladder  was  not  bad  enough  to remove……… What?  do  Drs   have  Xray  enabled  fingers …how  did he  know  from  poking and  prodding  me?? Apparently  all  the pain  and  sickness  and  discomfort  is  referred  pain  from my  back!  (  spine  now  curved  after  breaking  back  )…….. Yes  okay   so  I  suppose  I  just  have  to  get  used  to  that  all  too now!  Hey  Ho!   In  the  evening  we had  MIL over  to us  for  dinner .

If we were having  coffee : I would  tell you that on Friday nothing  much  happened , apart  from  washing , ironing   and  cooking. Saturday  core  class and  then over  to  see  MIL with  middle  son!

Today,  Sunday  we Have  MIL  over  for  dinner  again. As  you can  see it has  been a MIL week.

If  we  were having  coffee :  I would  have  to  apologize and  ask  where  my  manners   are  can  I  get  you  more  coffee,  tea, something  to  eat  or  an alcoholic  drink?

Well  Having  finish JuJoJan  organised  by  Linda G Hill  at  Life in  Progress February  has  brought us  Love Is In Da Bog  organised  by  Just fooling  around  with Bee  Imaagine  a whole  week  done  already!

I must  dash  now  loads  to do. Sorry  if I  am not  commenting as  much  but my like  does  mean a lot I promise. I shall be back  to  normal as and when.

If we  were  having  Coffee:  I would  have  to  say  we  are  all  sill  waiting  patiently   for  our  dear  Paul  Curran   to  rejoin us here at  the  coffee  share   but  until he is  well enough  and up  and  running again  we  shall  have  to  bide our  time!

For  now  everyone  Be  well  and  happy!

If we were having  coffee: Where would  I  start. It  all started  off  normally enough  then !

We  took  Hubby’s  Mum 95yrs old and her  only  remaining  sister in  law  91yrs  out  for lunch on Tuesday all was  lovely  both ladies  fit  and  chatting  non  stop …though both  getting  frail.

After  lunch  we  went  back  to  Hubby’s  mum’s house as her  sister in law   lives in London and  we thought  we  would take  her back  after  7pm  and miss  the  rush hour. Good  job  we  did because  at  about  5.30pm  Mum  had  a  mini  stroke she  had a  strange  grin on her  face  and  could  not talk. Well with in   sixty  seconds I  told  Hubby  to  ring  the  DR luckily  he  realized  I  meant ambulance! The first response  car  was there in 5mins and the  paramedic  was  excellent. Then  about  15mins  after she arrived  Mum  had a fit we had to get her on to the floor  and  in the  recovery  position.

The poor aunt   was in  bits  I had  been  cuddling her  but  had  to leave her  to help the para medic  with Mum. When  the Ambulance did arrive  it  was decided  to take her  to  a near by Acute  Stroke  unit, so  we  agreed  that I  would  go  in the Ambulance with Mum  and Hubby  would  take  his Aunt home then  join us  at the unit.

Mum   was  seen  at the unit   and  we  were all  amazed  that  she made an a fast  recovery  her  speech face  and  all  her limbs  back  to normal  within  hours. Though she was  and is still a little  flustered  and confused. They  decided  to  send  her  to   a hospital    which is  nearer  to  where  she  lives, also  she   was  due a  biopsy  the next  day  at  that  hospital and  because  she  was  worrying  about  that  she  should be  sent   there.

At 10pm  they  told us  they  could not  get transport  and  could  we take  her ourselves. Hubby’s  brother  was not  impressed  but  for Mum’s sake it was best  we just  agree,  so  Hubby  and I  took her. When  we arrived  hubby  went in and  explained  the  situation  while  stayed  with her in  the car. He refused  to  have her  sitting  in  the crowded waiting  room. Luckily  a senior  nurse  told him  to  bring  her  straight  through.

Long  story  short  we  left  at  1am  she got on  to a ward  at  4.30 am  but  we  had  to  go when we did as  we  were  so  tired and  apparently  she had  every  test known  to man or woman. We were  back  there  the  next   day  and  took her  for the  biopsy.

Again  long  story  short  we  bought her  home  Friday to  her  house  her  other  son  is staying with  her  until  Monday  then  we  will have  to sort  something out …. by  we I  mean Hubby  and I. The  sad  thing is  the  biopsy  she had  on  Wednesday  has  confirmed  her  lymphoma  has  return …. she had Lymphoma  10yrs  ago  and in spite of  being only  given  6months  to live  she recovered  with  treatment  and  went on  to have  another  10yrs  full of  cruises with  friends  and on  her own, and  holidays  and  days out  with us and  friends  never  knowingly  found  sitting  down.

This  news  has knocked  her  for  six , obviously. She has  asked  for treatment  as in  her  words she  would  like  some  more  time. So we are awaiting  the  medics opinion  so it  is just  fingers  crossed .

We have  been  seeing  Mum every day  since  she had  the  stroke, fit  and bad  news and  now  she  is  home  we are  making  sure  she is not  alone. Our  youngest  took the  Newbie  round  to see her  yesterday  afternoon  and  our  eldest  drove up  from from the  south coast  to  see her our  middle  son  due  to  work  has  been  phoning her. Her  ex daughter in law and her  daughter  have been to see her  and   her so  she is not  alone . In fact  she is  coming here  for a late dinner today.

If we were having  coffee: I  would  apologize  for  going on do  have another  cuppa  and  something  to  eat!

With  all the  above  going on  blogging  has been rather hit  and  miss  and  though  occasionally  late  I have managed  to keep up  JusJoJan! to be  found at  LindaGHills blog.

Also  I have  to  say  that purely  by  chance  HelenEspinosa‘s  Song lyric  Sunday  is  so  apt  for  this  weeks  events  that  it  made  me  weep. Please  pop over  and  have a look and  you will see why!  look here

I must  dash  now  loads  to do. Sorry  if I  am not  commenting as  much  but my like  does  mean a lot I promise. I shall be back  to  normal as and when.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: FORESTS AND FARMS

Welcome  everyone  this  week  is  a little  different   we are  having  coffee  today  somewhere in  France. Don’t  worry  everything  is  as it  always  is  with tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

If we were having  Coffee: I would ask  you what  has been going on in your world this week, has  anything  deeply affected  you, have  you need a sympathetic ear, a shoulder to cry  on or  just  needed someone  to make  you laugh! If  yes  feel free to talk it out  here  with us. We will all help if  we can.

Lets  join  everyone  here  and  all the  other  “IF  WE  WERE  HAVING  COFFEES”

If we were having Coffee: I would  remind  you  that  there  are lots of  other  coffee mornings  all shared  and organized  By  Diana  and  Gene’O  over at,Part time monster

If  we were having  coffee:  You  can  either  sit  inside this  beautifully  converted barn, it is  so  comfortable  and  beautifully  equipped or  we can sit outside  in  the huge garden  with  wonderful views  of  the  countryside, so  verdant  and lush, or  again  you can  sit  on  the  farmyard  side  and  see  the  farm buildings and  the  orchard, the  chickens and  the  Dove  Cote  which  dates  from  1539 there has  been  a  working  farm here  ever  since  that  date   when  Francis 1st  of  France  was  on  the  throne  and  Henry V111 was on  the  throne  of  England. In  fact  they  met  in  France  and  the  event  was  so colourful with  each  king  showing how  rich  he  was  that  it  was  called  The  Field  of Cloth  of Gold .

If  we were  having  coffee: I  would  tell  you  that  we  have  just  come in  from  a  wonderful  four  mile  walk,  from  the farm  through  fields  some  crops  and  some  with  cows in  to a  wonderful  forest  and it  was  a real  forest not  a  wood or  a copse. There  were  signs  up  saying beware  traps (  signs  in  french)  and  we had  to  walk  through  a  gate  in  an electric  fence.

View from a picnic table of the lake.

There  are  deer  in  the  forest , sadly  we  did not  see  any …mind  you  they  are  big  and the males  have  huge  antlers… and  they are  very  nervous ! Well  we  almost  got  lost  but  eventually  we  found  a  lake  and  we  sat  for a  while  and  took in  the  view. Then  we  wandered  back  and  when  we  got  back  we  had  tea coffee  and  cake  of course!

If  we were  having  coffee: Last  week  we were in Normandy  and  the  weather  was  amazing  we  went out  every  day  visiting  Cathedrals  and  towns  and  villages  and  some  wonderful  Botanical Gardens. I lost  my  phone, I  had placed it on  the  boot  of  the car ( the  trunk  if  you are  an  American)  and  then jumped in  the  car  forgetting  about the phone…… bye  bye phone. I  did  not  realize  until  we  got  back  to  where  we were  staying  that it had  gone… so  we had  to  ring up  and  block  the phone  and  have  the  sim  killed!! Hassle  but it had  to  be  done! Hence  my  poem  about  the Lost  phone.

Here  are  some  photos  of  our  trip  so far.

If we  were having  Coffee: I have  to  say  now  that  after  4hrs  travelling  across  France  in  at  points  torrential  rain and  the  walk  this  morning  I  am exhausted and  need  a rest so  I  shall love  you  and leave  you  all to  enjoy  I  am  putting  my  feet up  now  and  taking  in the  view  so  come  and  join  me  or  wander  over  to see Paul who is  over  at  Mark Bialczak   in Syracuse this  week  and  all this  month. Let us  see  what  they are  all discussing  ! It has  been lovely  as always  to have  you all here  and  I  hope,  as does  Paul  that  you will all join us here and  at Mark Bialczak ‘s again  next  week.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  WEEKEND COFFEE SHARE

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: Cars, cats, coffee, and a Newbie.

Welcome, welcome again  how are  you all? The weather though  still warm for this time of year is becoming very damp  and several  mornings this week as I have headed  for the gym it has been cold damp  and foggy. So it is on with the virtual  space heaters and with  the help of  Paul  we have moved  some comfy sofas and armchairs into the marquee, well we may as well spoil ourselves.

Now  what  would  you like to eat and drink thanks  to Paul  we have  every type of coffee and tea  anyone  could possibly  request  and a few  that I quite  frankly would  be  very happy  to sit on the self  talk  about  obscure  and smelly!! 🙂  As for the cakes and pastries  well they have grown in range  since  we have been enjoying  these get together’s  and they  are all free and even better totally calorie  free!! So come on in sit  down  where ever  you fancy, relax  and let’s  have a nice  coffee/ tea break.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I would say  what a difference a week  makes! This  time last week I was still in the Loire  Valley France. Sighs! Well we got  home last Saturday/ Sunday morning  after a long  but fun day travelling. Back to reality  talk about  hit  the ground  running. Washing, ironing, middle son  having car problems , eldest  son off on trip,   youngest son  and family  to see, dogs  to walk and real life to  get on with ! So it was a good job it had  had such a restful  and lovely  holiday   because today  I feel as if it was a dream. A beautiful dream, one I hope to repeat!

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:   As I mention earlier  the weather has taken a sharp  autumnal turn punctuated by the fact  that we had got used to the higher temperatures  we had enjoyed in France! My early  morning trips  to the gym have necessitated   me digging out  a warmer hoodie   and  longer leggings  and brisk up in the step of the pace. I would  mention the fact  that I could not  be lazy  and jump in my car  because, also  as mentioned  above  number two son  has car trouble! While  we were away  his little car  gave up  the ghost …deceased… dead ..it is no more.  The situation meant  he needed to get to and from work  and so he borrowed mine . This has left  me dependant on Shanke’s Pony  ( an  old English  Term for walking ) . Luckily  my husband has his own car  so we were not marooned!

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I have to say the afore  mentioned husband  has done a sterling “Dad” job  of helping  the number two  son out  he has scoured  the net  and found  a brilliant  deal  for the lad, lets  hope he appreciates all his dad’s hard  work. All things  being well  touch wood and fingers crossed  he should collecting his  new car  towards  the end of  next week …result  I shall get  mine  back !! My husband  has also  been very  busy  walking  two guide  dogs  who  he loves  a great  deal . He takes  them out  for their recreation . He loves to see the younger one  running after  her ball  and thundering around  the field  enjoying  her short  moments of freedom.

Also  he cut  both our lawns  and kind soul  that  he is  he also cut  the house  next door’s lawn as the owners  were away  on  holiday , hopefully  they will be pleased on their return .

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I would have to tell you that  all my  brothers  and sisters  bar one  have birthdays this month!  I was mortified  to realize  that I was late  sending  my  eldest sister’s card … so  mortified  that  on my return I rang  her up and wished her happy Birthday  and told her  that  her card  was going to be a tad late!!: Just   for her to tell that  I was a day early! With all the travelling I had got the dates mixed up…. her card  was still late. Not  wishing  to be late again  I posted all the other cards  at once feeling  better  early  than late! I actually  think it was very inconsiderate  of  my dear  departed  parents  to have us all bar one born  in the same month! It  must of  been very difficult  for them to manage  a presents  for everyone!  As for the odd one out  did  they pick a sensible  month for her?…..December!! Do you have a large or a small family, did the amount of siblings  you had  determine  the size  of  your family! I am sure  everyone  has  a busy  birthday  month which is yours?

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  Where are  my  manners would  you like another cup of coffee/tea or  perhaps  a scrummy hot  chocolate  with all the trimmings , chocolate  and  vanilla   with cream and marshmallows or plain if  you prefer very warming  these  Autumnal  days. What  did you say , too fattening ?  not here  no you are forgetting  everything  here is calorie free  and you can have as much as you like!

Now  we did have a sad thing this week, Thursday  lunchtime  there was a knock  at our  door and when I answered it  there a sad looking lorry  driver. He asked if  we had a cat,  as he had just seen a car knock one off of its feet. It was laying in the road  by  his lorry. We grabbed  a towel  and rushed  out by  the time  we had crossed  the lawns (our houses  lay  back from the road  and all have large lawns) and  we had to cross one and a half lawns. We found  another driver who had also stopped and had  followed  the cat  who had  by  now crawled into  our  neighbour’s front garden. None of us  knew  what to do  we covered  the cat  with the towel I was despatched  to find  a cat basket,  we had  given  ours  away  last  year  thinking  we would  never  need one  again.

Sadly by  the time I had  return   with  a cat carrier  the cat  was sadly  dead.  My husband  and our  neighbour  took the cat  to the vets  sadly  it was not chipped and despite our  best efforts  asking around  we cannot find  the cat’s owner. ….

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I say  that  there was an added bonus  in this busy  week. Our  very  beautiful daughter in law  popped into see us early  evening  mid week with the Newbie. Well  we had  not seen  him  for nearly  a fortnight  and we were delighted  to see  them both. It is  amazing  how  fast  he had changed! He was so delightful  full of  smiles  and giggles  and so alert and interested in everything. I am so in awe  at  the beauty of  the little being  that  is our  grandchild.  I would  never of believed  less than a year ago  that a tiny  soul like  the Newbie  could  lift  my  soul in this way!

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would ask you if you would  like another  cuppa, or  another cake . I’d  tell you I have really  come to enjoy  these chats  and I’d  love  to hear  what you would  tell me. Please feel free to stay  as long  as  you like  and don’t  forget  to visit  Paul’s  post  now  while  you are  here!   If we were having Coffee  Original idea  from  http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/
