Welcome back to the daily prompt! It’s January 9th, so this is the 9th prompt for Just Jot it January 2022, and it’s brought to us by Astrid. Thank you, Astrid! Please be sure to visit her blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 9th, 2022, is “unicorn.” Use the word “unicorn” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Back in 2018 in the days when we could travel, and mix socially we had a holiday. (Do you remember those?) We went to Mexico and there was a German family there they were a two generation family and everyday they brought their beautiful unicorn 🦄 to the pool. Each evening he could be seen sitting in their jacuzzi!

Amid the palm trees and the pool bar
There was a unicorn, legend and star.
He made it to the pool each day.
There he spends his holiday.
He was such a sight to see
Back in the days when we were free.

#JusJoJan prompt the 28th – “Beach”

Two years ago in May , on the Gower peninsula. A beautiful beach a beautiful day. Here’s an Acrostic Tanka in memory of a beautiful day.

Blissful and quiet
Everyone see something new
Azure sea, maybe
Crystal waters of hidden depth
Holiday dreams will abound

This is part of Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Haiku Challenge

Pack , Unpacked.

I have unpacked my suitcase

Of a tan about me there’s no trace.

I was totally beach ready,

From my toes to my heady.

My toes and my nails, sparkly green

Hands red raw from washing them clean.

I had bought beach clothes

Some of the shades matched my toes.

Tomorrow was the day we would fly

I am down but refuse to cry.

The Caribbean is now out of bounds

St. Lucia has closed her door

I agree that she has good grounds

But I did want some sun and what’s more

It’s a beautiful place, I know as I’ve been there before.

To tell you the truth, though sad

I am in a strange way glad

The foreign office said you best not go

We can’t guarantee getting you home,so

I am happy to stay in cold Blighty

Dark times, for us all, problems mighty.

So lets be kind not greedy,

Leave goods for the needy.

So I was not meant to escape

*****

This really might sound pathetic but the last three days have been very stressful. Not only the holiday but all the stress of the new Government restrictions set for our own good. Be safe be kind be happy. I am still scared.

Wordless Wednesday, Wish I was there!

Wordless Wednesday Carribbean Blue.
