Holiday Haiku

Blue skies, sound of waves

Sun hot, so un-English like

Loving holidays.

Porchestet Sunset.

The sunset on Porchestet Castle  and something is emerging from the mud.

There are men crawling the last yards out of the mud and tidal water that separates where we stand and castle walls.

A Navel instructor in fatigues stands on the wall watching these black clothed and muddy figures.

I ventured to ask him what was happening… He shot us grin and replied, “I asked them to touch the castle walls for me”. Those castle walls were over half a mile away.

We watch them fighting nature who was trying to suck them back into her jaws.

Finally they made it up the steep walls and callapsed on to the pavement. They did look tired and due to the heat they were having water poured all-over them.

Then they had to run back up to their barracks for a shower and hopefully a rest.

Once they all left we left the waters edge and walked the dogs back across the field.

No wifi: Thoughts from France

Hi  everyone

There is no  wifi   or  proper  phone  signal  so  I  cannot  us  the  phone  to blog.

The  hardwired internet  here is  awful,  so  slow  that  you  could  make  a  three  course  meal  while it loads!  I  am exaggerating   but only  a little.

So  I  shall  try  to  read  and like   what  I  can  of  all  your  fabulous   blogs   but  it  would  take  too long  to  comment  or  publish!!! Hubby   has only  so much  patience ….and  come  to  that  so have I.

So  love  to  you all from France  and  see  you  all next  week!!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. View

This is part of LindaGHill’s SoCs this week Linda said:Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “view.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Pingback and rules here.

The View

This is the view from my sun bed in the orchard of the Gite that we are staying in at the moment in Brittany.

As you can see it is a lovely and peaceful view. The silence is almost total and really adds to the view.

As I am on holiday I can show  you some other views too!

Josselin  town square.

Cafe where we had a drink this afternoon.

A Chateau.

In my view Brittany is a beautiful place!

Thoughts from France

Oh! It nice to stop and think

Away from strife and kitchen sink.

To take on a different outlook

To rest and have time to read a book.
What lays ahead we don’t care or know

We still have to decide where to go.

If I am not here please don’t worry

I am on a break from hurry and scurry.

Love Is In Da Blog:Places We Love; Nonet

Bee at  Just fooling around  with Bee  said :On Thursdays, we travel and this week we really go for it: Countries we love . It does not need to be a country you have been to. Maybe you plan to go to your dream destination, or maybe you know you will never go there. But beware: next weeks will be about “fantastical places we love”. Of course you can go wild and do something entirely different. No matter what: share a photo, a story, a poem, a drawing, a travel report, travel information….. anything goes on #LoIsInDaBl but preferably something about LOVE! 🙂

LOVE IS IN DA BLOG: TUSCAN NONETS

Just Fooling around with Bee says: “It is Thursday which we celebrate and dedicate to places we love. It is entirely up to you how you create this post: write a story, poem, take a photo, link to a page… anything goes as long as it is connected to a place you love”

Walled towns amazing views

Deep Thoughts on Holliday’s Retu

image

Trace elements, we breathe
Hints of what we were, we leave.
Time less rushed than we perceive.
More things in heaven and earth than we perceive.

Wave on wave of thought and consciousness.
Far more knowledge than we will ever process.
Reaching out to horizons new and old.
Thoughts and dreams swelling more than your heart will ever hold.

image

Look to the future you will find the key.
It is all out there waiting for your imaginations to set it free.
Piece by piece we build our pipe dreams
Only to scatter  them at the feet of our children it seems.
