Song Lyric Sunday. Hide, Hidden, Hiding.

This week our prompt for Helen Vahdati‘s Song Lyric Sunday is Hide, Hidden, Hiding.

Well I like this challenge.

I have chosen first Imogen Heap with Hide and Seek.

Another of my favourite singer songwriter’s clever songs.

Hide and seek

Where are we? What the hell is going on?
The dust has only just begun to fall,
Crop circles in the carpet, sinking, feeling.
Spin me ’round again and rub my eyes.
This can’t be happening.
When busy streets amass with people
Would stop to hold their heads heavy.
Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines.
All those years they were here first.
Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before.
The takeover, the sweeping insensitivity of this still life.
Hide and seek.
Trains and sewing machines. (Oh, you won’t catch me around here)
Blood and tears (hearts),
They were here first.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that you only meant well? Well, of course you did.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it’s all for the best? Of course it is.
Mmm, what you say?
Mm, that it’s just what we need? And you decided this.
What you say?
Mmm, what did She say?
Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth.
Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cut-outs.
Speak no feeling, no I don’t believe you.
You don’t care a bit. You don’t care a bit.
(hide and seek)

(hide and seek)

And for good measure an oldie Goldie written by the Beatles. Hey you’ve got to hide your love away. But with a modern twist here it is sung by the great Oasis

Here I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she’s gone I can’t go on
Feeling two-foot small
Everywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them say
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
How can I even try
I can never win
Hearing them, seeing them
In the state I’m in
How could she say to me
Love will find a way
Gather round all you clowns
Let me hear you say
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love awayere I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she’s gone I can’t go on
Feeling two-foot small
Everywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them say
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
How can I even try
I can never win
Hearing them, seeing them
In the state I’m in
How could she say to me
Love will find a way
Gather round all you clowns
Let me hear you say
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away
Hey you’ve got to hide your love away

It’s All In Your Head

our-daily-grateful-post-head-2

My brain is  full of  colours and  patterns  that  no one else  can  see

A host of words bouncing back and  forth  aching to be free.

I open my  mouth  and  words  come out  but they get misunderstood

So I try to explain myself  but  to  angry  ears  it  does  no  good.

The  magic in  my head, the  colours  and  the  sound

Are  the safest  place  in all my life,  that  I have  so far  found.

So when voices get raised  and  anger begins  to  boil over

Inside  my  head  I  watch the  sights  and  sounds  of  a  Super  Nova

Why do  you  never listen, where on earth is  your head

The questions  I  am often asked, they make  me  run  for bed.

Is it  any  wonder I hide inside  my  imagination inside my virtual world

Where rainbows  twirl around me  and  all my  dreams like  banners  are unfurled.

My  inspiration  for  this  poem  came  from  a picture  on Deb’s  blog  Once upon  a hotflush
