Light Colours My dream place Where my mind’s ease Lifts me, to gentle space Perfume heady take my mind home To a kinder time, happy and carefree Pastel soft my mood lightens as memories flood Murmurs in my ears, flowers in my hands Time slips by like hourglass sand I meld into this place Remove the years Grateful, tired I find Peace
At Kat Myrman‘s suggestion, along with Jane Dougherty, I’m trying out the Lune form this month. The Lune is a three line poem, either 5/3/5 syllables or 3/5/3 words.

If we were having coffee: I would tell you just how much I would like to pretend that I have all the time in world this week but sadly my time is very clipped today. We have the mother in law over most Sundays…. for some reason neither of the husbands two siblings seem to see fit to have her over, so most Sundays, outings and Holidays ( as our American friends say, to me Christmas,Easter and bank holidays fall to us. ) Now we don’t mind but it does get a little stressful when there are other things on the cards that need to be organized!….. Enough I am not moaning just stating facts!
If we were having coffee: I would tell you it has been a strange week as I have been under the weather and spent two days in bed with stomach ache. So it has not been a normal week as I was unable to get out and do most of the usual things that make my week normal. I like normal it makes me feel safe anything else tends to upset my equilibrium!
Now I have found a very interesting new blog, on first sight it appears to be a cookery blog but as the posts started coming to my email I discovered that it is also about a very brave and courageous mother of nine children’s account of her life as a foreigner living and married to a man in Saudi, she has amazed and inspired me, also I love her recipes. Do pop over and check out at Lynz real cooking. here is one of her triumphs …go on let’s all have a piece!
If we were having coffee : I would ask what are the big things that affected you in the news this week. As I said I have been out of it most of the week but what has seeped through to me is that the Number of Muslim women who are taking off for Syria to join isis from this country, the UK , is growing . Well okay if these women feel they need to dessert the life they have grown up with over here and want to give up every last vestige of freedom then fine they make their own beds let them lie in them. But they are taking children with them, some very young children too. Apparently these women are doing this mad exodus without their husbands or families knowing ?
It started with young men being radicalized by youtube and social media, then it was young girls and now women with children are up and fleeing into what I can only see as the unknown. Well if young men , girls and women want to leave here and head out to join isis so be it. Now to my mind their actions do not come without consequences if they go they can never return. Let us face it how could they ever be trusted not to turn against us? That said it is not fair of them to take their children with them, what mother can willing take their children into a war zone, a place where women are treated a cheap chattels and worth less than cattle. It pains me to say this but it is wrong . Read here

If we were having coffee: I would have to draw your attention to Paul’s guest post this week as it is very interesting, I am not going to go over what he has written as he has covered it so eloquently! Now what has been going on here well the weeks flash buy so quickly and I am sure I shall meet my self going backwards one day!
So the usual vists to the gym and classes, then on Wednesday my friend L and I spent a cultural day in the local museum, it was really interesting …. luckily for you there was no photography allow !!We also enjoyed a pot of tea and a scone each. We had a lovely day.
If we were having coffee: Friday was interesting too as I was due to meet a friend who lives up the road but who I have not seen since before our River trip. My sister came over in the morning so I could help her with her laptop, this task took longer than either of us had expected and I rung my friend to say I was going to be half an hour late. ” Aha! she said that is fine as I want to kidnap you ” I was intrigued as ( touch wood) I have never been kidnapped and have no wish to be!
Well I sorted my sister out as best I could and she was happy because we had sorted her immediate problem. So I went along to my friend’s house. The kidnapping turned out to be a trip to Bisham (the place hubby and I visited the other week. ) Her son was doing the last of his duties as youth leader ( moving into the real world and a new career ) He had been incharge of a camp of young people and we had been roped in to help clear up the area an take two young lads home!
The camp site
Goose with gammy wing
Geese with lone duck cleaning up
When we arrived, there were pile of equipment everywhere and people loading cars with camping and cooking gear and children! We joined in and soon the field looked pristine again as in top picture ! There was a Goose there who had broken a wing , I asked about him and was told that he had broken his wing last year but the RSPB had fixed him up and though he has a strange protuding part to his wing he has happily survived the year!
As you can see the only evidence that there had been a camp there at all was the different colour patches on the field! That is shown in above with the lone Duck who joined the Geese in their clear up routine!
Ready for dinner today
If we were having coffee: I would tell you how we have been eating our potatoes ( crop all gone! ) and our lovely green beans! It is so good to just pop out to the garden and just pick the amount you want for dinner. The tomatoes are getting huge and it looks like we will be making lots of chutney again this year! I say we but it is really the hubby’s domain.
Fit to burst
Green and healthy
Hidden among the leaves
Now see I slipped the garden report in without a warning !!
Take your Pick
If we were having coffee : I would ask if I can fill up your cup, or glass or get you anything else to eat it is all calorie free! Now last night the hubby and I went to visit some friends and we had a great evening and today we are having hubby’s mother over for dinner we do most Sundays if we are here. So really I have to go and get on as the dinner will not cook itself!
I do hope you have not found my idle chitter chatter to boring but as I said Paul’s blog is very thought provking again this week! So with that said I must love you and leave you !
If we were having coffee : I say I was sad to miss the Annual Bloggers Bash info here

If we were havingcoffee:Well it has been a very busy week again, tell me please where has half of this year gone ??
Well settle down with your drinks and cakes and I shall tell you about the big plan! What I hear you asking? Right the hubby has suggested we have a new kitchen and I actually agree! Even though it will mean a lot of upheaval it will be worth it. So far we have waded through the catalogue of the manufacter that we have chosen. We have picked the unit and narrowed the colour scheme down to three colours ( Ivory, sage or light blue) . We have spent hours choosing which white goods we want and also spent ages researching cooker hoods.
We have decided to have the hob on a central island which means the extracter hood will be suspended above said hob! Well I hae to apologise for all the slips of paper with drawings on and the catalogues strewn all over the place ! move them out the way and make yourselves comfortable…. watch this spot.
If we were having Coffee : My gym buddy and I have been working very hard this week and we have signed up for another course of extra lessons to see us through to the end of the year !
Can I refill your cup or get you a calorie free treat we have some gorgeous cakes this week.
If we were having coffee: I would draw your attantion to Paul’s blog this week it is exstremely thought provoking, do read it believe me you will not regret it! If we were having coffee: I tell you that the garden is doing fine but I have no photos today because I just have not had time to take any this week Hooray I hear you all shouting!! … But hey I have some lovely photos of some of my flowers!

If we were having coffee: Phew, I shall have to say I am sorry for being late . I have had a really eventful weekend! Yesterday (Saturday ) I was up really early because I had to be at the hospital at 8am. I had to go in for an operation. I had spent all week since returning from the cruise worrying about it! Well what do you know I have been in had my op and I am now home and I have survived. Results of two biopsys in 3/4 weeks!
Silly me I was really worried and I don’t know why because normally I take things in my stride.Hey ho what do ya know!!
If we were having coffee: The hubby and I had a trip out this week just off the cuff and unexpected I think he was very kindly trying to keep my mind off the impending operation. Well it was lovely the weather and not too busy. We went to Marlow on the Thames , we had a good drive down there but sadly we could not find anywhere to park so we took a trip down memory lane and found a spot where hubby had picniced with his parents when he was young! I have put in a photo below of the spot. After that we went to the lovely village of Bisham and we had a beautiful meal in a country pub. here are some photos of Bisham too.
If we were having coffee : It is garden time again….. stop yawning I am only going to show you two photos, it is of our first early crop of new potatoes!
More to come
Green fingers and gloves
Right well If we were having coffee: I would have to say I must take my leave I am not feeling tip top yet and we have had the mother in law over for the day and she keeps us on our toes. Plus I had a temperature this afternoon. So I am off to get my Jimjams and slippers and have an early night.
Once again I thank you all for visiting me and Paul too we love to see you and hear what you have to say and we hope you will join us again next week! Hugs to you all!

If we were having coffee: Well it has been a busy week with alot going on, where to start? Lets look at world affairs mainly the Charleston church shooting in which a 21yr old man , Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people. He sat and pretended to be taking part in the service for an hour and then he shot people in cold blood.
I truly believe that guns should be totally banned. The licensing laws must be made stricter and more rigourous tests and investigations need to made into anyone wanting one! I believe that no one needs to have a gun, only those who need a gun for their work and then those guns should be securely kept at the place of work! America you are no longer pioneers you do not need guns . I do know that all countries have this problem to larger and lesser degrees but please it should not be as easy to buy a gun as it is to buy your weekly goceries!
I am speaking from an English perspective but our ordinary police do not carry guns. Armed police are a separate part of the police service and you see them at airports, ports and in London or locally if armed officers are called for….. In fact the last time I was up near Buckingham palace I saw armed police and I was shocked and surprised. Anyway I have no say in what laws other countries have, it is none of my business but I still had to throw in my three halfpence.
On the same subject I read that the Emanuel AME Church is opening today for a service of solidarity and rememberence for the relatives of the dead. I believe that all the churches will ring their bells in support. This madness and hate must stop it is like a cancer.
Only last night there were deaths and serious injuries in West Philadelphia read here about it . Everyone needs to stop and think about what is happening and why is it happening ….. sorry I am still ranting I must stop now.
Where are my manners If we were having coffee: I would say do let me replish your cups or pour you something stronger if I have bored or enraged you !
Now what has been happening on the home front , well one of my sister’s has been in hospital for the last two months , down in the West Country. Well a fortnight ago she had a heart double bypass and two valve repairs. She was in intensive care and then a hight dependancy unit for ten days, having been already in hospital previous to that for six weeks she was in need of family! We could not visit before because she had been very sick and at one point she caught the Norovirus .
My eldest sister wanted to visit her as well so the husband kindly said we would drive up to her house ( she lives up North ) and we would stay the night before driving down to the West Country the next day. My sister had offered to come to us by train but it was a long and complicated journey. Any how we made the trip and visited the sister in hospital and stayed over two nights , she looked better than we expected and she perked up a lot when we spent time with her. We did not like to leave her but good news since we have returned home she been taken from the large hospital, she was in when we saw her, to her local hospital where she knows the staff and her friends can visit her easily . Here are a few of the sights we saw .
Such a tall tree!
Such a pretty tree
An old water mill

If we were having coffee: Shall we all go across and see Paul and all his guests , we need to encourage Paul to start writing a book about the nitty gritty of dialysis and all the wonderful little incites he gives us weekly of his treatment highs and lows. It would be a great help to many even those who are not even going through treatment! Also all the lovely little assides of people he meets while at the hospital …come one lets twist his arm , gently of course!
Once again I thank you all for visiting me and Paul too we love to see you and hear what you have to say and we hope you will join us again next week! Hugs to you all!

Okay If we were having coffee : Lets start with yesterday which was the Queen’s official birthday ( unlike us mere commoners she has at least two!) Well in honur of this event there is the pomp and cermony that is know as the trooping of the colours . Now this a great spectical even if you are not a royalist you have to be in awe of it!
The Queen has attended in a carriage rather than riding, which she did before that on 36 occasions, riding side-saddle and wearing the uniform of the regiment whose Colour was being trooped. She last attended on a horse in 1987.The regiments take their turn for this honour in rotation as operational commitments permit. You can read all about the Trooping of the colour here.
After the parade which has bands mounted ( imagine having to read music, ride your horse and keep he or /she in line and pace and play an instrament all at once!) and on foot. Horses, carriages, horse drawn guns, and marching men and all corographed to the enst !
After the parade there is a forty one gun salute in Hyde Park, they use the guns they use in the parade. All these are original world war one guns and one is roumoured to be the gun which fired the first shell at the Battle of the Somme.
Then the members of the Royal family are taken back to Buckingham Palace to appear on the balcany all together …. a rare occurance . All the spectators surge up the Mall and congregate outside Buckingham Place to get a glimpse of the Royals and to wave and celebrate….. it’s not just us brits people come from all over the world!
OH! If we were having coffee : After all my jabbering on about the trooping of the colour ( it was the Welsh Guards this year) You must be gagging for another cuppa and a cake!! I am forgetting my manners sorry!
Let us have a quick look around the garden nothing much has changed except everything has got bigger. Mind you the white rose tree is looking glorious!I think all our roses are magnificent if I say so myself though Tangental could out rose us ( ceck it out) with his garden!!
The white rose tree
The husband up a ladder ‘ trimming’ trees!
Rose and bushes
Beans for Jack?
Tomato Alley
Potatoes and Beans with roses poking over the fence from front garden.
Glorious Red
Potaoes and Beans
Another Red
And the Pink
Well the weather has been a mixture this week, more coffee anyone? We have had all four seasons, pelting rain cold winds, frost over night and and glorious heat wave ( well for us that is ) weather!
If we were having coffee: Shall we all go across and see Paul and all his guests , we need to encourage Paul to start writing a book about the nitty gritty of dialysis and all the wonderful little incites he gives us weekly of his treatment highs and lows.
