One-Liner Wednesday. Hanging on the telephone.

After ringing and quequing to make an appointment ( for a telephone consultation, it’s like getting hen’s teeth to get an actual appointment) the One-Liner ” please hold your call is important to us, we will be with you as soon as a receptionist is free” repeated every sixty seconds really does not ring true.

It took one hour and fifteen minutes on two phones to get through!

Part of LindaGHill’s One-Liner Wednesday.

UK in the Blizzard.

I did a little rewrite of this loved carol to show how the UK is affected by bad weather even though it’s expected!

UK’s Bad Weather

In the bleak midwinter not a train will run

Motorways are carparks,it is no fun.

Snow is falling, snow on snow

But we are never ready you know.

The is gas running short as is electricity

The whole country grinds to a halt when we hit minus C.

I’ve not seen any gritters with their flashing light

Icy rains now falling it will freeze again tonight.

In the bleak midwinter eastern winds do blow

We all need to check our old folks, care for them to show.

Sadly we are never ready however expected

The shops are stripped of staples everything affected

Image from here

Okay moan over, people have pulled together, volunteers trekked to blocked Motorways to bring them hot drinks and food. Carers and NHS workers struggle into work. We all keep an eye on our elderly family members and neighbours. We are British we will survive 💜
