Day Eight of the Florescence, courtesy of its creator, Jane Doughe\nrty.
Rain has fallen all day
It’s chased the sun away
A real deluge I say, once again.

Catching you unawares

Tell me fountain of youth
Are you real, have you proof

Bright sun was out today
By the sea we did play
Blue sky sunshine hooray, a highlight.

Star filled sky so cold
Dark blue pitted with gold
To travel there so bold, dream so far.

Jane Dougherty challenged me to write me to write a Florescence about ducks and to keep it clean… what does she mean?
Braking fast the surface
Gliding past full of grace
Dabbling ducks with ducklings a quacking.

Jane Dougherty of Jane Dougherty Writes had us writing Florette when she discovered what we were calling a Florette was actually called an Essence. Jane also discovered she liked the real Florette better than the Essence.
Jane said :”The Florette is too long to be a really short form as it needs at least two stanzas, but I like the extra long last line and the rhyming pattern. The Essence seems to be just a bit too short to cope with two rhymes, and for the internal rhyme to be random.
This form, that I am going to call a Florescence, is a compromise between the brevity of the Essence and the form of the Florette. As its name suggests it’s a poem on natural themes.”
So Jane wrote her new Florescence here. I really liked it so here is my attempt.
Snow fall. A Florescence.
Softly falls the light snow
Tiny white crystals flow
Covering all ice glow … Move deftly.
Salty like hot dogs (and tears). Sweet like marmalade (and life).
