Watching me

Slowly draining life

Eating up

My soul whole

Evil stalks my nights and days

I can not escape.

What Day is it Anyway? Monday, March 23rd, 2020 #WDIIA.

Why is Linda hosting this post.

She said.”Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

Why am I writing this post ? Because it’s day Seven since we have been told by Bossa to stay home and socially distance ourselves. We are all in different circumstances and yet we are all in the same boat.

This is part of LindaGHill’s #WDIIA.

It is 17.08 and it been a beautiful day weather wise, the sun is shining. So we were up at the usual and had breakfast, and let Ruby out. My sister in law rang and we had a chat, then we took Ruby for her walk at our deserted place, we only saw one person but I am getting nervous and eventhough we took her twice today, I am thinking we may have to stop walking her out side and just use the garden .. we shall see.

This was not taken today.© willowdot21

So we got home and Hubby was on the phone to the lads helping them make decisions, about, work, health issues and life in general. I went upstairs and cleaned the bathroom and bedrooms within an inch of their lives.! Then I washed my hair, the hair I cut the other day!

hair washed. © willowdot21.

Hubby then went out to the garden and pruned and tidied up, I have to say it does look lovely.

We had a delivery from Amazon, new scales. They are so nice, very chic.

Day three of the stew we had dumplings too.

Above tonights dinner, day three of the beef stew and dumplings and it was yummy.

This video brought me to tears, it has a strong message so whichever country you are in it is relevant to us all.

So it’s been a really good day. Time for some happy music . Now we cannot hold hands but we will be able to again …I hope and pray. Not today but one day.

Be safe out there.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 7/2020

Quarentine

Go figure she screamed, slamming the door in his face! Toby turned on his heels and stormed off.

Downstairs mum was getting a headache. Keeping the children amused for a fortnight was a daunting task. This was only of the afternoon of day three of this week…Go figure.

The weather was awful, the rain relentless, so there was no chance of going into the garden for some fresh air.

In her room Tara had her phone, TV and her laptop. She was busy skyping Jenny who was in the same position. ” This is so boring what will it be like by next week ? ” Tara moaned . ” I know said Jenny I am going stir crazy! “

In his room Toby was playing Fortnight, he was playing on line with several friends. He was slowly losing grip on reality being drawn deeper and deeper into the game. His friends all in the same predicament were feeling the same. …..Go figure.

Mum was on the phone to the hospital, she could not help but worry about her hubby he was in quarantine after a work colleague had collapsed and died. The whole office had been taken to the hospital and the entire town had been put into isolation by the government troops.

A fortnight is a long time especially if you didn’t know if you were going to get through this, or get ill…even up until the fourteenth day…. Go figure.

Just then the door bell rang. Mum opened the door there were two soldiers in hazard suits dropping off their supplies for the next few days.

They had said a fortnight but that had been two months ago…..Go figure.

This is part of LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

The Plague

The planet was struggling it’s true

From space it was no longer blue

It was suffering from millennia of wars and abuse

People pleaded for change, no use.

Most people tried to help Earth

They knew the planets worth.

Then came the plague

No respecter of king or knave

It cut through the ranks and top brass

No preference for age or class

It sent weak, old or young to the grave.

It emptied the streets and Malls,

Pubs, clubs and church halls.

It stopped the planes and the trains

The fat cats lost their profits and gains.

Huge nations brought to their knees

As scientists search for the keys

To the elusive cure to rid all of the bain.

Just when it could not get worse

Hate joined fear with a curse.

The people turn on eachother

Neighbour, husband, wife, sister, brother.

Empty shops, no fuel they could not stand

Then all civilian movement was banned

The crops and animals died on the land.

Drones flew over head, all was scanned.

Mother Nature watched with a tear

Chaos in weeks, rebellion, extinction within a year.

Teddy Dear.

You  know all the answers Teddy  but you never tell me the questions

I am not happy here Teddy, have you any good suggestions.

Why do mummy  and daddy go out so such

Leaving us  with Uncle Joe …. he smells and I hate his touch.

Sitting here Teddy, sipping tea by  candle light I feel so unsure.

I love being here Teddy just me and you together here sitting on the floor.

I can hear him moving around downstairs, what shall we do if he knocks on our door.

Shall we go to bed Teddy and pretend we are asleep,we could hide under the sheets.

I don’t like him Teddy he hurts me so,

I can’t tell anyone, he says mummy  and Daddy don’t need to know.

He calls me his little pleasure angel his cuddly ball of joy

I don’t like those names, I hate his games and  I do not like his” toy.”

Time for us to go to bed Teddy, time for us to sleep.

I shall cuddle you Teddy , please protect me if into this room he creeps.

I have  got the bread knife , I know to use it, I am not allowed

But, Teddy I hate his games so I shall cut his “Toy” off as it stands out proud.

Thursday photo prompt: Entrance #writephoto

For visually challenged writers, the image shows the a green and rocky landscape, with a path leading up to a dark-mouthed cave

ENTRANCE

What secrets lie over the threshold

What echos in the dark and cold

Why do I now hesitate

Sealed forever my fate

Decided too late

No point to fight

Less chance flight

In to

Night.

Mary and Jo Part 20.

Today is the twentyth day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry. This chapter is brand new.

Mary was scared, Mary was not sure she was young and never had a baby before. She’d always been a good girl, never played around. Her world had been blown apart that night Gabe had come knocking at her door! He’d told her she’d been chosen to be a mother pure, this came with certain warning and worries galore.

Gabe said her son was to be a king and his father was God and she’d be the Queen of heaven if she accepted the job. This new king would not be born in a palace of gold with ivory walls but in a two star hotel with cheap carpet wall to wall.

Image from Pixabay

The people of the town would welcome them with open arms and astrologers would bring them gifts as would shepherds from local farms.

Image from Pixabay

There would be a star to mark the place where ere they came to rest and there would always be angels around to give the love and help. Now this had all come about, all Gabe’s words came true but it what he told would happen later that was making her blue.

The fear she was feeling was for her unborn child, the and suffering he would endure was just driving her wild. Mary’s tears were falling and she felt such fear. Jo was out , she was alone there was no with comfort, near. Mary had a sudden urge to get up and run. To keep her presious cargo safe why should such an end be the fate of her darling son.

Just when Mary felt that could not breath that she could take no more, to her delight a beautiful dog and cat came through her door.

Thursday photo prompt: Shimmer #writephoto

For visually challenged writers, the image shows the dark silhouette of an island in a shimmering lake, surrounded by shadowy hills. The sun is breaking out from behind the clouds in rayed splendour

Rachel stands on the shore of the lake looking across to The Island and Ewan’s castle. It dark and cold, so cold, she shivers. She is lost, her lover gone, her baby gone, her enemies almost upon her, she shivers. Then suddenly the first silver rays of dawn reach through the clouds and shimmer on the lake.

Shimmer
Silver hope spreads out like fingers
Rippling the waters of life.
The fear of the dark still lingers
Clouding our minds and causing strife
The future is outlined dark , black
For now we have the moment
The past full of all we lack.
The War is upon us in earnest
What will the dawn bring?

To be continued.

Mary and Jo part 3

To day is the third day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry.

Mares was gently sleeping, her breathing slow and thin yet inside her head, her brain was still in a spin. Just like Jo she was thinking back to when all this did begin.
She was in her room alone late at night when suddenly this stunning young man appeared, and gave her such a fright. Before she could say a word he gently touched her mouth he smiled at her and all her questions and fears took flight.
Who are you and why are you here there will be trouble if my parents hear. Again he smiled and then he said the strangest thing she had ever heard “Hail Mary full of Grace” Mares eyes wide open stared into this strange man’s face.
He beckoned her to come near and then he whispered in her ear. Well he said the most outlandish things. He told he was an angel he even showed her his wings. A messenger from God was he, and Mary was pregnant Just how could that be.
Gentle Mary you must not fear I told you God has sent me here, you alone have been chosen from all of womankind to bare a son who will save the world by dying for them, that did not sound so good. The angel ask Mary if what he had said was clear, she was quiet and full of fear.
Things will not be easy the angel knew and many would point the finger at Mary it’s true. This was such an important things she had to do. Mary had not been pleased and asked just how she was to be with child , you are already the angel smiled.
The next month was no fun, her parents did not believe their daughter and friends thought her mad so she was shunned. Then one afternoon her friend Jo asked her to share his life he would love the child and her if she would be his wife. Mary asked if he believed her story was true he said he did and he had met an angel too. And so their strange story had begun .
