WELCOME TO #TANKATUESDAY!

Diana Peach selected the image for this week’s photo prompt. It’s an image from Pixabay.com, compliments of “Pretty sleepy.”

Colleen says, “Remember, we can see what’s in the image, so write your poem using the image as an inspiration. Don’t just describe what you see in the image. Use your imagination. Open your third eye and see what’s behind the red door! Think about metaphor and allegory. Just remember to check what form you’re using. Some of the Japanese forms frown upon the use of metaphors.”

I have chosen an Etheree , a single one as I believe time is a thief and we are it’s slaves so this is a tale of one half. Yet you can read it from top to bottom or bottom to top.

Portal

So philosopher of many colours
We are your slaves, and so, bound to you.
Yes master of theft you steal time.
We stand outside the portal
Imagining what lies
Beyond the red doors
A Universe?
A planet?
Nothing?
Void?

Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 167, #Poet’sChoice

Pressure

The

pressure

Weighs heavy

My shoulders bend

Dragging me under

With fear in tidal waves

Blindly I search but in vain

The answer is hidden from me

One foot after the other deeper

Caught up in the quagmire, under pressure.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 158 #PhotoPrompt

Hi everyone it’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. It’s the middle of the month challenge ~ time for a photo prompt! This month we will use a photo chosen by last month’s “Photo-Prompt” Poet of the Week ~ Merril D. Smith.

I have chosen to do an etheree. I looked up the photo. It discribed as a flower on a piece of areogel which is protecting the flower from a Bunsen burner. I see my soul as the flower, the areogel as my Guardian Angel, and the Bunsen burner as the sins of the world.

Protection

My

Soul held

In your care

Shielded with love

From the fires of hell

You keep me safe from sin

My beloved guardian

However intense the danger

Your wings keep me safe from the world’s harm

You care for me and I bathe in your calm.

Autumn Walk Acrostic Etheree.

Hello here is an Ascrostic Etheree about Autumn leaves.
An
Untouched
Trail of leaves
Unsullied, fresh
Mask slippery mud
Newly formed after rain
***
We trudge along happily
Autumn colours brightening our
Lives as Ruby and I walk along
Kicking up red and gold leaves as we go.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 9/19

Hi it’s time again for SoCs. This week Linda said:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ght.” Find a word that contains the letters “ght” in that order, and use it any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use three or more different words containing those letters. Have fun!

Butterflies Etheree.

Bright
Sunlight
Butterflies
Flood skies in flight
Their colours mighty
Work as one no fighting
There's no wrongs for them to right
Their wings beautiful, have no blight
They dance all day and into the night
Silver ghosts by night drawn to candlelight.

Leap of Faith .

White

Water

Flowing fast

Suicidal

It’s a leap of faith.

Nature’s blind to danger

Where mists rise to veil the view.

Running leaping in a mad dash.

From it’s source to sea and back again

Just like human life but with much less fuss .

*****

I have chosen to do an Etheree this week, Called Leap of Faith.

A Sorry Etheree.

I

really

hate to say

I deleted

all your mail today.

As much I love to

read your posts. A break right now

Is what I need the most. So please

Be patient, I will be back ready

To post and read your blogs and comment back.

💜💜💜💜💜💜

Wedding Etheree.

Two

Lifes join

Together

As one, heart, soul.

Made complete and whole

Today their journey starts

They face a future unknown

From tiny seeds their love has grown

From now on they will have eachother

To have, and hold today and tomorrow.

COLLEEN’S 2019 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 135 #SYNONYMSONLY. Pretty & Ugly

This  week Colleen suggests  we play opposites  for her  Weekly Poetry Challenge . The  words  she has given us  are Pretty and Ugly. Great  words  but  we can not  use  them, no  we must use  them  as synonyms only.

This  part of Colleens Weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry.

Skin Deep

Such

Beauty

So comely

As too beguile

The eye and  the heart

Of every man she meets

Truth will out there is no doubt

Her loveliness is but skin deep

The evil inside would  make  you weep

Her goodliness  was  no more  than skin deep

Thursday photo prompt: Forgotten #writephoto

“Please

Don’t leave

Me standing.

Without you my

World would crumble.

It’s you makes me whole

Giving me life and soul.

If you leave me I will fall.

Together we are strong, united.

If you leave me I will be nought at all.”

So spoke the flowers to the old brick wall.

Who smiled and replied “without you I

Am nothing,without you I’d fall.

We need eachother to thrive”

So the fragile flowers

Through mutual care

Lived happily

With the old

Tired

Wall.
