This week I chose to write a Tanka Prose.

I passed this stump every day while walking Ruby. It called to me softly as I passed. What had knocked it down I did not know. Valiantly it fought for life, sprouting green new leaves. Sadly as time went on it has failed and died. All the green is gone and it is dead, people put their rubbish in it.

so it was gone
the tree died where it had stood
back to mother earth
sun and rain witnessed new shoots
and so the earth keeps turning.

THIS IS PART OF COLLEEN’S TANKA TUESDAY CHALLENGE.

Goodbye Sunshine 2

I don’t know what happened to my post Goodbye Sunshine all that got published was the title?
So here goes again.

We took one last walk in the evening sun.
Roaming slowly through golden fields nearly over, our holiday fun.
The sun relaxed though strong in the Tuscan sky
Smiled on us as we said goodbye.

The table’s laid for our last meal this year.
Tomorrow evening someone else will be sitting here.
Happy laughter from the kitchen and aromas waft our way.
Sadly we must pack we have just one more day.

The sun now setting in the Tuscan sky.
This time tomorrow, up there we will fly.
Oh! I don’t want to leave this lovely darling place.
Where else in the world does a wall wear a smiley face.

New Life

http://www.crescenthill.com/

Sunshine through the window touches on her hair She is a beauty, a pale faced red head, fair beyond compare. In front of her a vase of flowers  filled with classic blooms arranged with love Concealed with the bright petals her avian friends hides He is attracted by the petals hues which he had spotted as he flew above. He has no idea how much this bouquet  means what importance on it rides.   The woman is unhappy she does not know what to do. The flowers are from her man Who has deceived her, they are a request for forgiveness. Sadly she doubts she can. He’s let her down one time too many, taken her love and not returned her any. A cloud crosses the sun casting a shadow on the flowers, her gentle bird flies away. Seizing  the vase she rushes to the bin, life has finally dropped the waiting penny. Alighting gracefully in his cage her bird begins to sing, The woman smiles as at long last she  decides he too will be cast away With the flowers. And her new life can begin.
