#TankaTuesday #Ekphrastic #Poetry Challenge No. 308, 2/21/23

This #TankaTuesday challenge explores Ekphrastic poetry, inspired by works of art.

Colleen nsays :”I’m fascinated by fine art. Much of my newfound knowledge of art comes from Rebecca Budd’s blog, Chasing Art.com/blog. Many thanks to Rebecca for the inspiration.

This painting was featured on Rebecca’s post: PORTRAIT OF LADY AGNEW OF LOCHNAW BY JOHN SINGER SARGENT

You will definitely want to read Rebecca’s post. It’s full of wonderful information!

(Find more of John Singer Sargent’s paintings on National Galleries Scotland).”

This week, using the painting as your inspiration, please write either a syllabic poetry form or a freestyle poem, including a syllabic form (both poetry forms on the same post).

REMEMBER… don’t just describe the woman… we can all see her. Like all of us, this woman has a story. Write THAT poem…

Portrait of Lady Agnew of Lochnaw (1865-1932) by John Singer Sargent, Public domain, via Wikimedia Common.

This is a Lanterne Poem .

The view.

I
Watch you
Approaching
My blood boils in
Me.

My
Eyes watch
You undress
They beckon you
On.

Now
You see
Me sitting
Are you startled
No

Your
Naked
Body show
The excitement
Felt.

You
Take me
My dress falls
Crumpled and torn
Spent

In the Pale moonlight

Close, closer than ever he held her  before

Close to him  that night on the sea shore .

Sinking  to their knees  hands searching for delights

She giving herself to him freely they began to scale passion’s heights .

Breath  hot on skin already afire tongues searched with burning desire

Arousal hard and perfumed sweet, lips opened  new joys  to greet.

Her breast cradled in his hands licking  her nipples til proud they did stand.

Her legs came up around his waist  he thrust inside her without any grace.

She moaned and writhed so he could hardly breath

He sucked her nipples  with desperate greed.

Her fingers took him by surprise ,

She saw the look of shock in his eyes

As she withdrew  and slipped down his body her lips caressing every inch

She took his manhood in her mouth ,and felt him tense and wince.

He had never felt  caresses like these before

Her head between his thighs he was at heaven door.

Panic stuck him so he acted fast

He pulled himself reluctantly from her grasp.

But he could no longer wait  so he took her fast and hard

She soon matched him even though he had thrown her off her guard .

Together  they took flight  and howled together  in the pale moonlight.

Cloud House

Gently springing through the clouds skipping stones

Escape at last  the hustle bustle and the mobile phones.

Finally all weights are lifted from your shoulders

Your are free now to enjoy dreams let your heart grow bolder.

Worries, leave  them all behind, forget harsh words they are so unkind

Cut the ties that keep you back  and undo the ribbons that you to the earth do bind

Smile and lift your arms up heavenward and float into the midnight sky

Lease your dreams and wishes now and up to your cloud house fly

From the tree to the door skip those stones, there are four.

Wave to the two geese in the yellow sky

And envy the ride in the balloon  as it sails by.

Relinquish those worries and watch your spirits soar!

Death By Chocolate

It is warm and soothing as it covers me whole,

it is erasing my mind and stealing my soul.

I am happily drowning enjoying my fate

this is better than sex it can all of my yearnings sate.

It is finding every crack and crevice and entrance to me.

Filling me up , seeping in, tightening, sealing  me so I am no longer free.

They had warned me, they had told me to take care

yet I just ignored them and so I am here drowning here laid bare.

Little did I know when that menu I read

and chose Death by Chocolate it meant what it said!
