The Memory Tree

The Memory Tree

The Memory Tree

Tell me, tell me what you see? A Christmas Tree? No, no this is a memory tree. Such a spell it weaves for me I see my children’s lives opening a rewind, that is what I see. Tiny toys and decorations made with love a Santa stuffed with wool and a star made from an old glove.

A drummer boy an angel too all kinds of pretties made from coloured paper, sparkles and glue. Some were made at Nursery or school and some at home, what fun we had it was all so cool. There is an angel on the highest branch she looks like she is smiling at a glance.

Tiny little bags for sweets, tinkly bells and balls, all kinds of treats. Lighting up the living room sweeping joy before it like a broom. Tiny lights and brassy beads everything a memory tree needs. All the decorations made by the children with love. Looking back with help from up above.

The years pass by, I see them grow but the love from the tree still seems to flow. The boys all grown and moved away  but they all remember the things they made. When they visit on Christmas day. There is so much love and fun invested in the decorations for the tree we could never throw any of them away , you see. They mean too much to the family and me!

The Drummer Boy

The Drummer Boy

Here is the drummer boy, he is really older, he is mine from an even earlier time. He holds memories that bring me joy my bright and smart drummer boy.

There is nothing like a Christmas tree to make us smile and awake old memories. Christmas decorations bring such joy to old or young be you girl or boy. So decorate your Memory Tree with love and joy and fun and when you need a lift, gaze at your tree and happy memories will come.

Tree and Wreath Rejoice

Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree

Look at me see how I shine see my lights and decorations entwine. I twinkle lustrous in the dark to this room I add a spark of Christmas Cheer I catch everyone’s eyes as they enter here.

In the day I seem to change, my colour takes on a different hue. I am the green of the fresh wooded hills life and joy out of me spills.

Hidden in my branches are lights like jewels and tiny presents , crackers, toys Oh! yes excitement rules. In the sun light my lights are not so bright they glow far more brightly in the night.

Little children’s eyes always light up when they see me. To their Christmas fun I hold the key. When they come down on Christmas morn they see their presents my branches adorn!

See me here outside your door I am here to let all know what is in store. Pretty balls on either side a few stars and bows and a parcel too. I love my colours red, gold, green and blue to me they are the most beautiful I have ever seen!

Every day as it draws nearer the excitement in the children’s eyes grows clearer. The birth of Christ is what we celebrate take heart it is near now soon we can rejoice our faith.

So dear friends be of good cheer our saviours birthday is very near. So gather your fruits of tree and earth  and raise your glasses to salute the saviour’s birth.
