Just Jot It January : The Raven Kings’ Deceit.

How could I of not  seen the signs

Slowly  as time goes  by and passion declines

The Raven King promised  me a life sublime

He swore I would be his queen  for all time

I had been warned  to keep him caged

But it hurt me so the way he raged

That fateful night my will could take no more

I set  him free he took his freedom and away did soar.

No sooner did he take to the skies

My looks  my  garb  disintegrated before my eyes.

I soon would  be no more no matter how I cry

My end was now I was about to die

And at last he Raven King  was free

In all his glory but at the expense  of me!

Then my soul became very light

As I started my eternal  flight!

He stands in the shadows

He’s standing there in the  shadows and he is watching me and you

Waiting to see if we if we are doing as we should do.Do we even know what to do.

He is crying in the shadows hiding

He sees that we are, deaf to his tidings.

He sees brother killing brother

Lost sisters grieving for lovers

Children dying reaching out for their mothers.

Why is he watching  why does he not speak.

Is he letting them suffer, suffer in vein setting the strong to kill the weak.

He sees the huge eagle on one side He picks up the dice and hurls them, he weeps as they collide.

His children are fighting, have they ever stopped .

They’re squabbling  and and arguing about the bombs they have dropped.

They lie about who did it and who did not …………

For the innocents caught in the crossfire they care not a jot.

He’s standing there in the  shadows and he is watching me and you

Waiting to see if we if we are doing as we should, do we even know what to do.

Guinevere

Oh! she was so pretty  Oh!  she really was so fair.

With sparkling eyes and rosy cheeks and  raven black hair.

Slight of figure but huge of heart she has so much to give.

Arthur fell under her spell, he knew he would love her for ‘ere long they both  would live.

As she coyly looked his way her eyes sheltered by her lustrous lashes.

She knew at once he’d be her king, she knew by the way her heart was leaping into dashes.

Arthur too was smitten as he had watched her arrival with glee

For Guinevere was by far the most beautiful girl he had or would ever see.

Her Farther gladly gave her hand in marriage to king Utha’a son

Both fathers were relieved  for in this union their uniting of England was finally done.

All of Arthur’s knights were assembled to honour the new queen

Row on row of knights, armor shining flags flying. It was a joyous scene.

Among their ranks was Lancelot his eyes shining green

Looking upon Guinevere the most desirable woman he’d ever seen.
