Well 15 months on and still the pandemic was causing havoc. Most people had to work from home. For many this meant long days and nights alone with a computer screen. For Pete it had become depressing, soul destroying.
He made sure he got out for at least an hour’s walk everyday, he used his exercise bike in the evening, had his shopping delivered and made sure he cooked good healthy food.
When he could, he’d get out and meet friends…… That had been impossible during the early lockdowns. Things were finally beginning to come together and ease for now ( no one could be sure what the the next few weeks could bring.)
Pete opened his daily meeting, only to be greeted by empty screens on mute. In the beginning everyone had been eager to join in the meetings, screens and sound on. Slowly they had all withdrawn.
“Come on guys I am bending over backwards to help you guys… For pity’s sake cut me me some slack!” Pete shouted.
Slowly screens filled with his techs and engineers and program architects.
He smiled “hi guys we have the big boss joing us today!”
Just then the boss appeared on his screen.
“Right guys we want you all back in the office for the end of September, three days a week.”
Pete could not control himself he jumped up clapping and cheering! It broke the ice everyone laughed! The boss smile and asked Pete was he pleased!
Pete thanked goodness an end was in sight and that he’d got dressed properly this morning.
Later that day when the team signed in for their next meeting they all looked askance at Pete’s square.. there was a white edged, grey, board with the word Community on it and infront a collection of five toy figures doing different things.
After a second or two Pete’s face appeared….”that’s us guys we are a team, we are a community! Keep those screens on , unmute your devices. Let’s communicate let’s rebond.”

What Day is it Anyway? Saturday, March 21st, 2020

Why is Linda hosting this post.

She said.”Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

Why am I writing this post ? Because it’s day Six since we have been told by Bossa to stay home and socially distance ourselves. We are all in different circumstances and yet we are all in the same boat.

So I was up with the lark again, it was another bad night, full of bad dreams and cramp. We took Ruby out for a walk at a usually busy popular dog walking spot. It was as we guessed almost deserted when we got there.

Anyway we had a lovely walk and Ruby enjoyed herself. We rang our elderly next door neighbour to see if he needed anything he said next time we went shopping could we get him some butter, could we get Danchurch butter from Waitrose. PLEASE, people are rioting in the aisles and he wants a brand name butter. ….Bless!

I can’t believe that all this panic buying is still going on. Selfish people grab, grab, grab while pensioners and exhausted frontline workers are left crying from the sheer unfairness of it all.

This is so wrong please, please, please make it stop.

I spoke to a friend who is a senior nurse, she is incharge of a clinic. She told me all clinics are being suspended and she and all her staff will be moved on the ICU wards nursing patients with Covid19. This is a nightmare I can’t believe this is happening.

Okay I have already told you all I am scared there’s no point in harping on.

I did soup for lunch a lovely veggie soup. Then I got bored so I decided to cut my hair. I cut off over two inches. But I think it looks okay.

In the afternoon our youngest son rang to say according to DDP there was a package on the door step. There was!

He had sent me some wild and bloom flowers for mother’s day.

These flowers arrive half asleep. Tomorrow they will look spectacular!

I checked on my sisters, a couple of friends. Oh! Yes we received a random act of kindness, one of our friends dropped us round a little present. So very kind.

We walked Ruby again, had stew for dinner then . We spoke to all three of our lads on the phone. We are bored with TV tonight.

And so to Bed!

Another piece of hopeful music.

Be safe out there. Hugs to you all.
