Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 140 #SynonymsOnly

It’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge.

This week I have chosen to do a Nonet.

Our two words for this week are

Light & Dark

His soul was blacker than any night

Lost from the warmth of day was he.

Inocence,pure and bright she

Drawn together where they

Just like night and day

Opposite sides

Two faces

Yin and

Yan

Look who’s back!

Yes at last our Fairy Queen of the synonyms is back. Safely ensconced in Arizona Colleen is ready to set us our Weekly Tuesday Tanka Challenge you can join in here.. It doesn’t have to be a Tanka though as long as it is a poem governed by syllables.

Today’s words to use synonymously are Beginning & Consume.

I have chosen to do a Nonet, one of my favourite forms of poetry.

In the beginning.

When it all started there were just two

All sparkly, wonderful and new.

They had eyes for eachother

Such joys to discover

Snake then wriggled in

Try this apple

It’s good, she

Ate, too

Late.

Here is my entry for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. The prompts to us synonymously are Origin and Write.

This week another Tanka

Evil

From the beginning

I needed to note this down

To register truth

From the inception of time

To record evil’s winnings

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 122

As Colleen says: “Valentine’s Day isn’t far off. This is your opportunity to write all that love poetry you’ve been saving. Go ahead… May the muse be with you. ❤

It’s the first challenge of the month which means poets get to choose their own words.

I have chosen my favourite of the moment the Etheree. The words I have chosen are Unrequited and Obsession.

Bring me his heart.

Bring

Me his

Heart I said

I long for him

He does not know l

Even exist, heart pounding

Just for him, blindly I asked

For his heart which you have bought me

Foolish words have caused me to lose him

I’ve unwittingly lost all I desire.
