Welcome, come on in it is lovely to see you! If we were having Coffee . Come on in the fires are lit the cushions are plumped up and we have the coffee and tea and the cakes and sweets are set out. Paul and his guests are all here and they are enjoying the warmth and food and drinks. We have tea and coffee from all over the world not to mention all our cakes and muffins and as Paul calls them sweets! Every single one is calorie free! Plus of course we now have spirits and liquors to warm the coldest of you .
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE : I would say not a lot has been happening this week. I have been looking after hubby after he has been in hospital for an operation. Well two operations actually . How did this happen well he went in for one and when the surgeon came to speak to him he informed him he was going to perform a second procedure too!
I think the husband was quite taken aback, luckily it was too late to do anything but have the second operation but consent! 🙂 .
I was surprised too but not by the double operation. No I was taken aback the amazingly quick turnaround time of the hospital. In at 7am open surgery home by 2pm same day? Well honestly I know you are safer from MRSA CDiffC at home than in hospital but hey six and a half hours seems rather hurried! …. But hey I can be a good nurse and I have worked hard to look after and cope with all of hubbies’ concerns!!
What else can I tell you, IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: well my eldest sister hurt her knee while she was at the library, she has to now wait to go for a scan to see what the damage is! All she needs just right now! Sister number two is also not doing so well, having trouble with he heart! Sister number three well she is still struggling with her shoulder after her shoulder operation. I go round each week to wash her hair! She is struggling now because she has three unexpected visitors for Christmas, her mother in law and her two sister in laws!
Eldest brother … well he was supposed to be having an operation to sort out a leg problem that has been troubling him for at least 18months! Unfortunately he has ha a problem with an ingrowing toenail. Sadly for him because of the toenail problem his long awaited operation has been postponed until the new year! …. Brother number two , well he seems healthy enough so fingers crossed for him!!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would say that it has been great fun over at Jean’s Social Bridge where she is hosting a party , come on over and join in here. Jean has a wonderful blog well worth taking a look at!
Yum Yum
OH! were are my manners would you like another cuppa and maybe some cake?
These teddies look good don’t they! Mind you I have eaten way too much today! It has been one of those days when you just pick, pick and pick some more.
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would say that we have had some really harsh weather this week here in the UK. We here in the South have been very much luckier than those in the North and West! Read more here!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I will have to admit that although I have been really really busy this week not much of real interest has happened. I have told you all my news so maybe now you would like to tell me some of your news, personal or international.
But for now let us join Paul and his guests , it is so cold we could break out the liquors!

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I’d tell you how concerned I have been about the Ebola . Tell me why a huge and self-assured country like America can make so many mistakes over Ebola protection procedure! A nurse who had looked after a patient with a Ebola. Somehow did not follow the correct procedures and somehow manages to come into contact with the virus: She becomes ill. Another person who was involved with the Ebola patient’s treatment is allow to take an internal flight even though they were already displaying signs of fever read more. It looks to me that things need to be taken more seriously and safety procedures need to be tightened up!
Hats off to William Pooley the English Nurse who has managed to recover from Ebola and is now showing such bravery and is returning to the thick of the outbreak. Read about him here. We are all very proud of our British Medical Core who have already sent out 100, nurses, doctors and consultants to join those already out in Sierria Leone read about it here. IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would say please let us all pray that we can beat this virus before things get any worse.
Okay that is the hard hitting part I felt it had to be addressed and now I have addressed it , please tell what your thoughts are on Ebola.
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I’d have to say I have not had the best of weeks health wise, I have been on the back foot all week! I even missed a morning at the gym Wednesday and I found it a real struggle to get through the day! But I have to say I am not one to give in too easily and I managed to keep going and here I am having survived another week!
Now how are your cups does anyone need a top up , or some of this lovely carrot cake, or the coffee and walnut cake!! OR!! we could have an Irish , Caribbean or a Russian Coffee OR we could have a hot chocolate and Brandy!!…………. YUM YUM!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: ( EVEN BOOZY COFFEE) I have to tell you that we went out for a fabulous evening with friends Friday night. We had an excellent meal, in their beautiful home great food and such fantastic company! We had lots of laughs and fun! We stayed late too and so it was very hard to get up Saturday morning and go to core class. But I did!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would tell you that I have to admit I have not a great deal to report this week, it has been a slow but steady week! I can however report that my sister who went into hospital has had her operation and is slowly on the mend , and my other sisters and brother seem to fairing slightly better than last week ! Okay anyone fancy a top up! Time for some photos!
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would ask you if you would like another cuppa, or another cake . ! If we were having Coffee Original idea from http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/
Please don’t forget to pop over to Mark Bialczak’s site to see his and Paul’s posts!

If we were having coffee: I would tell you to sit down and put your feet up and take it easy!
I’d tell you: today I was up early and at the gym by 7.30am…. I hate the gym but if I do not exercise regularly I seize up! After the gym I went home sorted the washing had breakfast then washed and changed. Then I picked a friend up and took her to a job interview. While she was there I took the opportunity to drop in to see my sister for a cuppa.
While we were chatting I noticed her two ( feral cats) were sitting by her french doors watching me. Nothing very unusual there I hear you say but! These cats have ignored and given me a wide birth for over a year now.
My sister has a house abroad and there had been a cat that had had a litter of kittens in her garden about 18 months ago.. The residents had sent round a letter telling people not to feed the feral cats, well my sister, never one for rules, ignored the missive.
Sadly the mother cat and all but two of the kittens died so F took the survivors into her house and she and her hubby fell in love with them. As time for their return home approached they had the cats, checked out , deloused and spade and doctored and chipped even got them their own passports. They would not be left behind.
When my sister and her husband flew home the kittens began their train journey home too. Well the cats were used to my sister and her husband but they have taken a long time to accept anyone else. So the fact that they both sat still long enough for me to photo them and for the female ( the feistiest of the two ) to circle me three times and eventually sniff my feet! was a huge landmark.
I’d tell you: After picking my friend up after her job interview she asked me back for coffee. I drink my coffee black and because today was a hot one I was thirsty. I went to the sink to put some cold water into my hot coffee. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her cat jump up on to the sink unit beside me.
What the ? I squeaked, my friend just laughed… he wants a drink she told me. Imagine my amazement as I watch the cat drink from the tap!
I had never seen this before. I know cats are clever and do amazing things but!!
I’d tell you : That photo of the cat was supposed to be a video….. I am working on that! For now a photo will have to do until I find out how to transfer the video to wordpress!
Well it has been a feline day today and that was only the morning! I did get home mid afternoon, did some housework, prepared tonight’s and tomorrows dinner.
If we were having coffee I’d ask you : would you like another cuppa, or a biscuit . I’d tell you I have really come to enjoy these chats and I’d love to here what you would tell me , If we were having coffee.
