Wordless Wednesday. Escape.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 154 #PhotoPrompt

It is the middle Tuesday of the month. This month we will use a photo chosen by last month’s “Photo-Prompt” Poet of the Week ~ Linda Lee Lyberg.

I have written a Tanka. Celebrating another day.

And So The Dawn

Come beautiful birds
Fill the skies, grace my eyes
Share with me the dawn
Together we awaken
The beauty of tomorrow

Have a good week everyone

This is part of of Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka.

Skin Deep.

I needed to write, so here is an Etheree and a Tanka about enduring devotion.

I

See you

My baby

Such joy you bring

Me. I do not see

What other people do.

Beauty is only skin deep

Your devotion makes my heart leap.

You may not have too pretty a face.

Who needs beauty when you can have pure grace.

*****

And you my sweet dog

Always my best support.

Happy together

We have been made immortal

Still one, a beautiful thought.

A little tribute to Emily Carr her monkey Woo and her faithful dog Billy.

Roots

Spread like

Waking dreams

Softly flowing

Kaleidoscope greens

Each a wish or a scheme

Flowing from us like a stream

Our canopies brightly adorned

Loves celebrated, loves lost mourned

Secrets, dark and light, forces of god’s light.

You have no idea what I have seen

Winters white,golden light, Spring leaves green

You tie your colours to my boughs

Hoping I will heal your ills

You do not understand

Nature’s true power

Older than time

Reason, rhyme

Spread like

Roots.

September Music 16

For the month of September I am going to choose a piece of music or song and write a poem or alternative version. Jane Dougherty is doing a September Stanza here. And Kat Myrman is doing September a poem a day Here.

Today’s piece of music is Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel

My interpretation.

Peace

Quiet

At sunset

And sunrise too

Colours melding bright

Old friends are well met

All of God’s creation

Knows exactly what to do

Nature rests and soon will renew

All the horizons are lit with hope

For a peaceful night or a bright new day.

Just Because.

Just because I want to share

Butterfly Child

image

The child

She was a different child
So unlike the rest a mystery
Not defiant nor yet meek and mild
Biding her time hiding something wild

Often she went missing for days
They grew not to worry for her
Assuming she had magic ways.
Mother nature had her in her care.

She thrived and grew like a camilleon
Carrying an aura of colour as she went
Filling their heads like a loved song
A calming presence a soft scent

One day like a whisper she was gone.
Some of the light of lives deminished
Her metamorphosis was at last done
She spread her wings Ties to them finished.

One Liner Wednesday: This life.

I have a job, a home,children and all this island I am blessed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don’t usually clarify my one liners but this is the essence of what a beautiful lady told me yesterday.
Exposed
This  mask I  wear is  crumbling falling
Away,  melting  and slipping  down
Don’t look I am appalling
My true face brings a frown
Seared skin melting fast
No more caring
Smiling mask
Now see
Me
