Song Lyric Sunday: Anger

The  very  busy   and  talented  Helen Espinosa  of  This Life  One  Word At A Time  has  set us  a new Song Lyric Sunday  prompt , she said :  “Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song that explores anger.  (I know anger is a secondary emotion, so maybe that isn’t the best word choice, but I think it’s broad enough we should be able to come up with something.)  “

There  are  songs  about  anger and  there are songs about ANGER! The songs  I have picked  are  about ANGER  that  builds up between couples, it  builds  and  builds  until it  explodes like a venomous boil!

I can really  empathize  with  the lyrics  of  this  first song, I have been  there  and  suffered  the  rage  and  the vile  words. The  words  pick up  perfectly  the  atmosphere  between  the  couple  on the  way  home  from  a night out . They have had  to put on  a united  face  all evening    but now  alone  they  can  no longer  keep  their  anger under wraps  and  it  explodes!  This  is  a brilliant  song  and I am  sure  many of  you  will recognise  the  feelings  expressed  so  will  within it  by  my  favourite  Immie !

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

“The Beast”

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we goI can sense in opening the front door as we came in
You were burning a hole in my back
Can we turn this around from where we lost you in the evening
Before things get out of hand
One by one eyes go optic, we’re becoming the beast
Shear power and the heat of hate brings our army of two to its knees
Steel lungs are shouting the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we go

All fired up, you’re a hot mess getting messier
I’d do anything for sleep
But I can think of far better ways to waste your energy
If you can bare to still touch me
One by one skin hardens, we’re becoming the beast
Shear power in the heat of hate brings our army of two to its knees
Steel lungs are screaming the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Have we left, have we left the building?
Did we die a little death?
Is this the end of the road for us, no more bridges for us to burn left?
Do we finally find ourselves at the point of no return?

One by one, we’re becoming the beast
Sheer power in the heat of hate brings our army to its knees
Steel lungs are shouting the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we go

A-Z Lyrics

Also another  great  song  about  anger  also  by Immie  is,  The  Moment I  Said It .  It  catches  the feeling  when  you  spark  that  huge argument in the  middle of  the night   and all hell lets loose!

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

“The Moment I Said It”

The moment I said it
the moment I opened my mouth
lead in your eyelids
Bulldozed the life out of me
I know what you’re thinking
But darling you’re not thinking straight
Sadly things just happen…. we can’t…… explainIt’s not even light out,
But you’ve somewhere to be – no hesitation
No I’ve never seen you like this
And I dont like it, I dont like it, I dont like it at all

Just put back the car keys
or somebody’s going to get hurt
who are you calling at this hour
sit down, come round , I need you now
we’ll work it all out together
we’re getting no where tonight
now sleep, I promise, it’ll all seem better somehow
in time

It’s not even light out
Suddenly, you’ve somewhere to be
No hesitation
mmm…I’ve never seen you like this
Your scaring me, Youre scaring me,
Your scaring me to death

Don’t..oh, smash….please
Don’t…oh…..and another one
Don’t…oh…..and another one

I’m losing you…….I’m losing you

Trust me on this one
I’ve got a bad feeling
Trust me on this one
You’re going to throw it all away
With no hesitation

Bye bye bye bye bye bye
bye bye bye bye bye
bye bye bye
bye

Lyrics  by  Imogen Heap

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Rage

LindaGHill said : Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “four-letter word.”  Use any four-letter word as your theme. Enjoy!

Here is  the pingback

Enjoy  I  can’t  enjoy,  I  am  so  burnt  up  with  rage . I am sick of  being  told  what  to  eat , drink ,  especially  how  much  wine I can  drink! What  to  wear  just  because I  do not  want  to  dress  like  everyone  else  does,  I have  my own tastes  and  if  they are  different  so  what…eh eh!! I like  the  way  I dress. I have  never  told  anyone  else  what  to  wear!

I  feel  the rage  growing inside  me  when  I am  told  what  I can  watch on TV  ….how  the hell old  am I. I get  indigestion  holding  down rage   when I  am told I  spend too much  time on  the computer……so bloody  what ! I  am not interested  in what’s on TV   so why  not  write  and  escape  into  a world  I  like, no love plug  myself into Imogen Heap  or Sia…. why  not , why  not?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rage , rage  scream  at  the  moon  shake  my  fist in rage
Shout  stamp my  feet lash out, rattle  the  bars of  my  cage.
Damn  Blast F##k  I am  a person  what use  to live  to an old age
If I am told  what  to  do, have  no fun , hardly  a life a plain page!
I want  to  drink what I want,when I want , not  smother  rage
Dance in  the rain  without  causing  a raised eyebrow
Wear an unusual  dress and  not  be  told  you look  fool now
I want  to me and make my  own mistakes, not burn with rage!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I said  at  the start of  the  stream of  consciousness that I  couldn’t  enjoy  writing  this post  because  I  am burning up  with RAGE , well that is  true  tonight  but I  did enjoy  letting off  steam!

Men  F###ing  Men….. apologies and  all  men on  wordpress  exempted …… unless  of  course  any of  you  start  telling  me  what I  can  and  cannot  write!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are the rules:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. Linda will post the prompt  on her blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance,  Linda  will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” or “Begin with the word ‘The’.”
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that Linda  and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of Linda’s post into yours.  Your link will show up in Linda’s comments, for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on Linda’s post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. Have fun!
For Lisa : I get pissy when I am not witty
For  my  friend  Lisa
I get pissy when I’m not witty.
Steer clear  of  me  when my  fits  get hissy!
Don’t  sneer  at  my  lack of  whit I don’t  need  your pity!
My  mood is turning  black, of fun there is a lack and I am in a tissy.
I get pissy when I’m not witty.
OMG  your  smiling  at anguish
Don’ be  such a dicky
Your  smile  I  will vanquish!
It’s Not Happening
Explosion! what did he say.
No way this is not right
He cannot say that today.
If I close my eyes it’ll be all right.
Let me out I need some air
This is not happening now.
Not me, no this is not fair.
I can’t breathe,this is …. wow.
Open a window I am chocking here.
Yes a glass of water please
You spoken the words we all fear.
Please say it’s not true, this is just a tease.
Out in the street the traffic is loud.
Sweating profusely I shiver and shake.
I want to scream caught in this crowd.
Not Cancer it’s more than I can take.
Another Poem for Breast Cancer Awareness Week.
Fight Fight Fight !
Scream at the moon, appeal to the sun,
Beg for deliverance from this end to be undone.
Damn your luck, curse your fate
Demand a recount of the end date.
Clear these eyes, change the view.
Scrub away at this thing that is eating you.
Wash out that womb scour those ovaries
Rid these breasts of the death that might be.
Fight the enemy  growing within
Deep breaths in the MRI, it makes such a din.
Swallow the drugs a chemical mix
Throw up your pain a hug will not fix
Rant at the day and scream at the night
Don’t  let Cancer win, no fight, fight, fight.
You are a sneak a coward that hides
But  we will find you and kill you and split you out wide.
Another poem for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Just rip it out
Words  cut like sharp  knives
Make a mockery of lives
Pain inflicted deeper and deeper
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You are  a self serving  worm, you have made them turn against me, never taken my part!

Why thank  you don’t  sit on the fence, I thought I had done my best,  just rip out my heart.

You turned  them against me  you are  always the goody you never take my part.

I have always supported  you always been at  your side , just rip out  my heart.

Selfish bitch, you always take their part, why always them? never taken my part.

I couldn’t change it now, I have tried, I love  you all, I tried keep everyone happy, failed. What the hell, just rip out my heart.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selfish evil worm of a bitch
Destroy our life with words
I have no  fight left in me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No I don’t  want it anymore it hurts too much.

NaBloPoMo : Dementia , Alzheimer’s Cruel Game.

She is not in there she has gone.

Why  search for the beautiful  light that once shone,

She is no  more herself, her soul  has fled

Gone to us, to all purposes dead.

How  cruel,  how mean,  how so unkind

To leave a feeble body and take a beautiful mind.

There are no words that can truly  describe

The pain and fear of those trapped dead yet  still alive.

You can not reason they know no rhyme

They are gone and left us to mourn  behind.

The  tiny flashes of a knowing  eye is  just  a mockery

This is no longer your loved one,  they are no longer who they used to be.

Screams of anger, voices harsh with  fists of hate

You try so hard, you have so much on your plate.

There is  no more that  you can in all honesty  do

They may  be gone ,  but you can hold you patience  and to their love  be true.
