Mary and Jo Part 21

Today is the twenty first day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry. This is also a new chapter.

The angles were excited about the imminent birth. There were emails were aflying and heaven was full of myrth. The Archangels were busy as Gabriel was away, that he didn’t pull his weight was something they could never say.

The holy father and the holy ghost were exhausted trying to contain the twittering and pinging among the heavenly host.

The holy instagram was buzzing fit to burst because let’s face it this new born would really be a first.

Even satan took an interest though he tried hard not to show it. Although he was egging Herod on he kinda wished he’d blow it.

God was secretly excited as he watched and waited. Though in his heart he grieved for how his son was fated.

But let’s get back to happy thoughts the baby is near due and he will be a saviour for me and you.

Mary and Jo Part 14

Today is the fourteenth day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry

Mares looking into the future

Mares was a resting, sitting in a comfy chair wondering what her life would be like when her child was here. Jo was in the garden talking with Gabriel, that amazing angel had more important news to tell. Will her baby really be the saviour of man, will he have a strange life and die the worst of deaths known to man. All things were frightening all things seemed too much but overriding all these fear she longed for this baby and it’s touch.Annya had just been with her and told her all was well but she needed to rest as her blood pressure was as high as hell. Annya was going out  but Irena was around again Mares counted her blessing for this little haven Jo had found. The children had been in earlier they had been singing songs. Mares loved it when they came and made a happy throng. They had told her of the lady down the street who had been busy knitting for the babe she had yet to meet.  Mares remembered the lady she had arthritic  hands, Mares had wanted to straighten her fingers and help her as the lady was so sweet.

Jo and Gabe talking

Jo and Gabe were outside talking, they had things to discuss. Gabe was telling Jo of Herod and that as soon as Mares had, had the child and was ready they should leave Bethlehem without any fuss. Gabe told Jo that Herod was a bad man without a conscience at all and that to make sure there was no king to usurp him he would slay all children under one,yes he would slay them all.

Then he had some good news about three good and wise men who would visit them soon. They had bought some strange gifts for the baby and they would have news of Herod too. They were clever  men and he would like them all three. OH! Yes there would be shepherds they were coming from the pastures above the town they also wanted the baby to see. They were also bringing a gift of some of their sheep .  “Sheep !” said Jo, “Sheep , do you mean live ones we can keep?? ”

Gabe looked at Jo, at the shock in his eyes and he said “come on Jo don’t panic now I know it all sounds mad. But you will find along the way that good times are to be had” Jo really was not sure it all seem far too big “come on ” smiled Gabe  you are going to nail this gig.

Mary and Jo part 6

To day is the sixth day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry.

Mares finished her bath, she wrapped herself in the fluffy warm towel she looked at her bump remembering the angels words and she felt trapped.

Sitting down she started to cry wiping her eyes and thinking of those words it was really no surprise. It was rather scary to have your life mapped out. Feeling a sudden shiver, for Jo, shecalled out.
Rushing in and seeing Mares sitting on the floor he throws his arms around her and says “come on my love never worry we have each other and that is for sure.”
Out on the hills surrounding the town some shepherds were out in their four by fours doing the rounds, shepherds busy counting their sheep.
Suddenly shocked by a blinding light and huge blast of sound. None of them really knew what to do they were scared out of their wits when a beautiful woman floated into view!
She was a beauty, a stunner it’s true and she had a fabulous smile as she announced “I have a message for you.” They all of them knelt on the cold grass and marvelled as she hovered above them, each wondering how it all came to pass. A heavenly light filled the night a couple took photos, well it was an extraordinary sight. The beautiful angel asked if they has spotted the star that shone up in the sky over hotel Delph in the town near by.

the star

The angel looked down at shepherds and saw only fear so she descended and asked them, gently, to come near. She told them that she had a message for them. The son of God was to be born in Bethlehem. It was to be a virgin birth and the child would save all of them. Not only them but all mankind too, they were all very excited but still at a lost as what to do.Be at peace gentle men you will be welcome to go and see the virgin and baby who will ultimately set you all free. This little child has left heaven and all it’s favour to come down to harsh evil world by way of a poor woman’s labour.
Once she was happy the shepherds had understood she blessed them and then to their despair she disappeared and left them for good. They all sat around discussing the sights of the night in fact they were still there at fist light.
Shall we go and see then, one of them enquired. Yes said the others it sounds like a visit and present is what’s required.
Back at the hotel Jo made sure Mares had cheered up and he had bought her favourite hot chocolate in a cup. Magi.com were still on their plane happy that they had given Herod.com the slip again.

Mary and Jo part 3

To day is the third day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry.

Mares was gently sleeping, her breathing slow and thin yet inside her head, her brain was still in a spin. Just like Jo she was thinking back to when all this did begin.
She was in her room alone late at night when suddenly this stunning young man appeared, and gave her such a fright. Before she could say a word he gently touched her mouth he smiled at her and all her questions and fears took flight.
Who are you and why are you here there will be trouble if my parents hear. Again he smiled and then he said the strangest thing she had ever heard “Hail Mary full of Grace” Mares eyes wide open stared into this strange man’s face.
He beckoned her to come near and then he whispered in her ear. Well he said the most outlandish things. He told he was an angel he even showed her his wings. A messenger from God was he, and Mary was pregnant Just how could that be.
Gentle Mary you must not fear I told you God has sent me here, you alone have been chosen from all of womankind to bare a son who will save the world by dying for them, that did not sound so good. The angel ask Mary if what he had said was clear, she was quiet and full of fear.
Things will not be easy the angel knew and many would point the finger at Mary it’s true. This was such an important things she had to do. Mary had not been pleased and asked just how she was to be with child , you are already the angel smiled.
The next month was no fun, her parents did not believe their daughter and friends thought her mad so she was shunned. Then one afternoon her friend Jo asked her to share his life he would love the child and her if she would be his wife. Mary asked if he believed her story was true he said he did and he had met an angel too. And so their strange story had begun .

Lost Souls Shattered Hearts.

Lost souls shattered hearts.

She came from the beautiful light

He was from the depths of hell’s night

Love and beauty grew in her wake

Sadness and pain followed him his smile fake

They fell in love

The Angeles wept from above

The hordes of hell rebelled

So star crossed were these lovers

Hope was lost by their sisters and brothers.

Some railed against the impossibility

Others prayed for love and pity.

God smiled but shed tears

Satan wondered was this the answer to his worse fears.

Could she save his soul

Would he devour her whole.

So star crossed were these lovers

Hope was lost by their sisters and brothers.

Their love was cursed from start

Lost souls shattered hearts.

This afternoon I have spent listen to a group from my past Rasmus . I fell in love again with a song of theirs. I let it inspire me to write a love poem about dark and light. Above the poem , below the video.

Mary and Jo part 7

The shepherds recovering unsure of what they had just seen,

The stunning angel with the strange message. She’d looked like a beauty Queen.

They fed the sheep then headed for the town.

Whatever it was they obviously part of what was going down.

The star was still shining, you could see it from here .

None of them sure of what any of it meant

That angel could only of been heaven sent.

Mares and Jo were both asleep,

Angels had them safe within their keep.

Not to mention the staff of the Hotel Delph,

Everyone there was wishing this special couple good health.

At night the new star shone up above

And during the day from no where came the dove.

In the town there was a buzz

What was all the fuss.

Something new was happening.

Not like the new style, or the new look

This would be important , this would make a book!

Winging towards them the three magi.com checking their charts and computers nothing must go wrong.

They all agreed they did not trust Herod.com

There was something about him that was not quite right,

The way he had questioned them into the night.

The men on the plane had gifts on their mind.

They had brought some for the child, of the most special kind.

Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold , well it is a change from a babygrow or a coat to keep him safe from the cold.

So now we have magi.com following their star.

And the shepherds on their way from near and far.

We have angels and doves and an child who will be born to a gentle mother mild.

This is another excerpt from a version of the the Nativity story, that I wrote all through December 2011. It started here Mary and Jo Part 1

FanFoFeb : The Maid Of Orleans

She  was a good hardworking girl

Never  a problem to her parents, always fair.

Then  the visions came and she was in a whirl

Such beautiful people from heaven talked to her.

The Maid of Orleans was her name

She lead the French  against the English

For Charles VII she won the battle game.

To aid the Dauphin and free France her dearest wish.

At 16  Joan went to  Vaucouleurs, to share

Her visions  with the Dauphin

They did not listen, as  a child they dismissed her

“Go Home girl,” they said ” to lie is a sin.”

She did return  but her visions  did not stop.

So one year later to see the Dauphin  she returned

The wisdom she had received she refused to drop.

Poor Joan for her faith she would  be burned .

This time  the Dauphin listened to the maid

He saw her honesty and devout  belief

He gave her armed  men and the weapons for which she prayed

Her two brothers joined her, in Joan they had belief.

She led the French to Victory  the English  were Vanquished

She was the Heroine of the day

The Dauphin became  the king, he marched  forth the English to banish

They routed them at Reims  and Paris. Charles VII had his way.

On  a dark day in Compiegne 1430 was the year

While fighting, she was caught by Duke Philip of Burgundy

He held Joan captive then to the English sold her, without a tear

Joan knew this was the end, she would never be again be free.

The English tried Joan on grounds of heresy

They decided she had dressed as a man, and then repeated the crime

They took her to Rouen and bound her to the stake  for all to see.

The flames of the fire engulfed her she called out to God and her soul was set free.

Joan D’Arc

  •  couldn’t read or write. She dictated all of her letters.
  • Some modern historians believe that Joan’s ‘visions’ were caused by epilepsy, schizophrenia or bovine (cattle) tuberculosis.
  • The extent of Joan’s leadership has been questioned by some historians. Although it is clear that she contributed to strategy and directed troops, she tended to keep her distance from the front lines of fighting.
  • Joan was wounded twice. First on the shoulder by an arrow from a longbow during the Orleans fighting, and then on the thigh by a crossbow bolt during the attack of Paris.
  • Many people believe that Joan was burned at the stake for taking part in witchcraft. This was not the case (see above). She was actually convicted of being a ‘relapsed heretic’ (wearing male clothing after having signed a document confessing to having done this in the past and promising to change her ways).

Joan D’Arc

  • was executed by burning on 31st May 1431. She was about 19.
  • Joan’s trial was overturned and her innocence was declared officially in 1456.
  • She was made a Saint of the Roman Catholic Church in 1920.
  • Joan of Arc has become an important French national symbol. During World War 2 her image was used by both the Vichy Regime, who emphasised her aggression towards the English, and the French Resistance, who emphasized how she fought against an invading and occupying force.   Read  more here.

FanFoFeb: Mae and Polar Bear. 12/02/2014

“Yes I have  the child “replied the Witch  of the East

“He  is mine and on his innocence I feast!”

“Then why did I find him lost and alone in the snow?”

asked Mae.

The Witch told Mae ” I sent him out to snare you didn’t you know.

I needed him to gain your trust and love so I could reel you in. It worked  well my dear.

For your army is within my domain and you Mae, you are here!”

Mae’s temper flared this evil woman was laughing at her.

Eyes  flashing  Mae  raised her sword to the, now giant witch , “No, No” screamed Mae!!

“You evil bitch”, you  shall not win this day.

Mae advanced her eyes were wild and flashing ,

Whirling  her sword at the witch she advanced and down upon  her brought it crashing!

A high  pitch squeal was heard, it was the boys scream, followed by  the East witch laughing.

She had tricked Mae who now was shocked to see the boy child cut in two

His life’s blood oozing out, dead, dead the child was dead what was poor Mae to do?

Just in time  Mae turned to see hordes of demons, eyes a blaze slavering for her, fast advancing

Mae saw no other way but to turn and run . Out through the doors her eyes with fear dancing.

As she reached the courtyard Ewen  saw her plight

He called upon his men to help her,  he shouted  “save Mae, men fight!!”

Still Polar bear is trapped  under the East Witch’s spell

Trapped in a nightmare having to watch Mae’s agony, in his own hell.

An angel is with him trying to easy  his pain

But  she feel his anguish making him cry out  again and again………………

FanFoFeb : Mae and Polar Bear 08/02/2014

“At last you have decided to show some sense”

Hissed  the witch of the East

“What have you to say in your defense ?”

Mae could not believe her ears such words from this female beast!

“Why do I need to defend myself to you”

Mae asked her temper, for the first time rising.

“I am not in the wrong here, no, that is you!”

Her hand around her sword hilt tightening, she look amazing , even frightening.

The Witch stood and seemed to grow filling all the room

Standing her ground  Mae  faced her arch enemy.

Sweat ran down Mae’s back she feared that she might swoon

A shaft  of silver moonlight shone through the window so Mae  could see.

Why have you turned this beautiful kingdom into a dark night

You killed  my father  and you have banished  my sister , why

What  have  we ever done to you , why  use us to vent  your spite.

You  have my half brother here, I know he is here I heard him cry.
