Scary October 2

Here we are at the unholy month of October. I thought I would do a paranormal, witchy, unholy bunch of poems, some new and some old.

Don’t forget to check out Jane Dougherty and Kat Myrman‘s plans for this month!

Today’s poem is an Acrostic one.

All Hallows Eve.

Autumn is here what’s in store

Light is in short supply

Lingering sprites begin to fly.

————-

Have you felt the chill

About the streets it folds

Lowly spirits roam at will

Looking for unsuspecting souls

Open doors quickly shut

When mists begin to swell

Souls come up from hell.

————–

Evil rises at this time of year

Vampires ghouls and bats

Eve of all hallows brings fear.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. 1/09/2018.

For this week’s #SoCs LindaGHill said: Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “round.” Use it as a word by itself or find a word that contains it. Bonus points if you start and/or finish your post with it. Have fun!:

Rules and Pingback Here

Surrounds Acrostic.

Surrounded by clear blue ice water

Undercurrents pulling you out

Ruled by the changing climates

Receeding, the ice flows

Only make things worse

Unsafe for you

Now you starve

Drifting

Solo.

Compassion Acrostic

Thinking of all those in need of compassion, at this time thinking of my brother in law lost in the grip of demantia and my sister coping but struggling.

I wrote this back in January 2015.

Compassion Acrostic.

Comfort me in my hour of need

Open your eyes and ears to me, take heed

Mindfulness is needed here in the world

Pain and grief are like weapons hurled.

All the woes of this vale of tears

Scream loudly in our ears

Sacred heart give us hope

In you we trust , help us cope.

OH! help us to help each other

Now in our hour of need to love our sister and brother.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 2/18

This is my entry for LindaGHill‘s Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

Linda’s challenge this week is “Our favourite word, use it in the post, base a post on it or just write about it’s concept” most important have fun.

Rules and Pingback Here.

My favourite word is Celestial, I did want to do an Acrostic Nonet but you need ten letters to write one of those. So I decided to do an Acrostic, almost Nonet. Almost Nonet because celestial only has nine letters. Okay enough explanations here is my celestial poem.

CELESTIAL

Can you see the stars up above

Endlessly stretching universe

Light dies out like lost love

Each tiny spec a star

Solar or Lunar

Timeless they move

Infinite

All just

Light

#SoCS March 30/18 Bun.

Today Linda of A Life in Progress has given us the Bun to use for our #SoCs. We can use it in a word or as a word in its own right.

Rules and Pingback Here.

We always had hot cross buns on Good Friday for breakfast. They were always fresh from the oven. I loved them somthered with butter and jam. It was a delicious way to start the day and end our Lenten fast.

We would not have had anything so tasty since our lemon and sugar pancakes 40 days previous on Shrove Tuesday.

Then we went to mass followed by the Stations of the Cross. I am sure we were all there for over three hours! That’s a long time when you are a baby, a toddler, young girl and even teenager.

I do remember it always seemed to go dark around 3pm. That’s the time the Crusifixion was said to have taken place. Whether that was autosuggestion or not I always expect it.

Sunday was mass again and then 🐥🐤🐣 Easter eggs.💜🐰🐇

Well that’s my ramblings I decided to do a Acrostic Nonet about Easter and Hot Cross Buns.

Using the nine lettered word Abundance, well nowadays you can buy an abundance of them all year round.

Abundance.

Always at Easter after Lents done

Bakers prepare the hot cross bun

Uncannily fruity fun

No one can resist them

Don’t fib you love them.

April or March

No matter

Come and

Eat.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 24/18

This is my entry for Stream of Consciousness Saturday concieved by LindaGHill of A Life in Progress.

This week challenge is “picture.” Write about, or theme your post on the first picture you see when you sit down to start writing. You don’t need to describe the picture necessarily–you can even put yourself in it if you’re not already there. Enjoy!

Picture perfect she smiled

I was totally beguiled

Convinced by her excitement

Taking up the pavement

Under her spell completely

Reeling at her beauty sweetly

Enchanted,caught picture perfect.

Awaking feeling half dead

No please not again

Taking drugs will stop helping

Silently he starts to weep.

Loveuary Day 15.Marriage with a D.

The  lovely  and  talented Ritu  of butIsmileanyway.com has set us all off on Loveuary. I for one am excited with the task. What is love? We shall find out as the month goes on.

Link to Ritu’s post.
Link to rules and prompts

Today is Day 15 of Loveuary. Now to choose a prompt ? Marriage, I have added a D as poetic license because I want to do an Acrostic Nonet and that demands 9 lines and so needs  nine letters.

Marriage with a D

More than a wedding day is marriage

And vows need plenty of hard work

Rekindling love every day

Remembering to care

Igniting passion

Aging as one

Growing close

Every

Day
