Sole responsibility for purgatory

Angel Marge basked in the glory

Of  those  words uttered by St Peter

A new challenge  she  though…it won’t defeat her.

So she  tidied up the space and  put  new rules in place

To meet the  new souls she  took on some  extra grace.

Opening up on her first morning

She  was amazed  at  the number of  souls towards her  swarming

Soon the  enormity of the task,in her mind was dawning .

She needed help to cope with so many lost souls  arriving

Quickly  she employed angel staff , to help with client reviving.

St Peter was impressed

At how quickly  problems  she addressed.

Every single hapless soul

She sorted  out  and  helped  them reach  their goal.

Yes Angel Marge embraced  her role

Loving  and  caring for  each and  every  soul.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS March 2/19 : Celestial.

Celestial of the stars, we are and eventually to the stars we will return. I find this is such a wonderful and calming thought. I have always yearned to travel the stars. Space and all it entails have always been my dream. Well it will not be my destiny, I was born too early. So I take comfort in the fact that when I die I shall return to the stars and be celestial. That’s the explanation now here is an Acrostic Nonet.

Celestial of the stars we are

Eternal, boundless essence star

Life for us is but a blink

Earthbound yet on the brink

Straining to venture

To our true home

In pure hope

Almost

Life.

This week our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “cele-.” Find a word that starts with or contains “cele” and use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Critic(al)

This is part of LindaGHill’s #SoCs.

Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “critic(al).” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Now it is critical that you understand that this sword held aloft here is not Excalibur. I have to say if I am critically on honest. The arm is too thick and masculine to belong to the lady of the lake. While I am being honest the sword itself looks too short and squat to be Excalibur.

Yet here we have an arm extended out of a lonely lake holding a sword aloft.

There is no magical island of Avalon, no Knights or damsels in distress. Just traffic bombing along a busy road, the other side of a wooden fence.

No just a critical Ruby sniffing around. Please don’t be a critic it might not be perfect but it was a lovely walk.

A Critical Acrostic Poem

Can you honestly say it’s the best

Rigourously, honestly the best

Is it truly the best you can do

To be honest I am not impressed

In my opinion, it is not good

Critically honest it’s not all that .

Actually be honest it’s rubbish

Look, don’t blame me, the critic.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 16/19 Yawn

Well ten minutes ago I had a brilliant idea for #SoCs. Then I got distracted by some some beautiful posts in my reader and here I am clueless as to what this world changing post was about!pro

Well it most definitely was something to do with a yawn. How do I remember that. Easy because this week Linda G.Hill said : ” Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “yawn.” Write about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word “yawn,” when you sit down to write your post. Enjoy!”

Now our Ruby yawns a lot, she yawns if she feels someone or something is invading her space, or if she is confused or bored and of course she yawns if she is tired.

Us humans yawn when tired, stressed or lacking oxygen. have you ever yawned and felt your jaw lock… oh my that can be so painful! Also if one person in a room yawns it is very  catching and everyone in  the room yawns. Now as you can see I am rambling on here and it is no doubt very boring. Very much unlike the wonderful post I was going to write had it escaped my brain and vanished into the either never to be seen again.

To save further embarrassment I have  added s to Yawn and  written an Acrostic Tanka.

Yawn

Yes we have to yawn

All of us as soon as born

Will know how to yawn

No one is exempt no one

So cover your mouth and yawn.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 9/19

Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ends with -ly.” Start your post with any adv\nerb that ends in “-ly.” Bonus points if you end with an adverb too. Have fun!

Part of LindaGHill’s #SoCs

Quietly, Softly

Quietly, softly they reached out to eachother. No one seemed to give them a second thought.

Huddled in the corner of a doorway trying to avoid the bitter wind and lashing rain.

People unwittingly passed by not giving the wet box in the corner of the doorway a second glance.

Finally a young man heard they soft plaintiff sound coming from the box and stopped.

Quietly he reached over and looked into the box. What he saw shocked him deeply. There were two of them, struggling to hold on to life. Two tiny little souls clinging on to life, clinging on to eachother.

Two tiny boys only a few hours old, covered in their mothers blood. The young man picked the two lost souls out of the box and wrapped them in his coat. He tapped 999 into his mobile.

The paramedics asked the young man if he wanted to go with them to A & E, he did willingly.

The tiny boys died an hour after they arrived still holding hands. They breathed their last together.

The young man cried softly, he didn’t know these tiny twins but he had wanted to save them.

On the other side of town she wept bitterly, scared and alone she prayed someone would find them. The pain had stopped now but she was still bleeding. So cold and alone, she died crying softly.

Three young lives gone in one night, twin babes and barely teenager gone harshly, sadly painfully.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Feb. 2/19

Today’s prompt for SoCs is a bit different, as it doesn’t come from LindaGHill. Instead it was a suggestion by M. Oniker during Just Jot it January. She actually has a blog dedicated to SoCS posts! You can find her last post here. Drop by and say hi!

Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “Affirm.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

An Acrostic poem .

Righteous testimonials,

The Friday Reminder for SoCS & JusJoJan 2019 Daily Prompt – Jan. 19th

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “television.” Talk about your favourite show, past, present, or future, or about the apparatus itself. Enjoy!

I have written an Acrostic poem about Television

Tele vision

To see afar

Everything from sea to star

Logie Baird had a dream

Everyone would watch a screen

Voyeurisum gone mad

Is that really so bad

So we graduated from Radio

Into dreams of vision flow

Only to drown in information

No limits, seeing all destination.

The Friday Reminder for #SoCS & #JusJoJan 2019 Daily Prompt – Jan. 12th

Our prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “art.” Talk about something that’s hanging on your wall. Add a picture, if you’d like. If you have no art on your walls, talk about something in a museum. Have fun!

Art for Art’s sake.

Many years ago, I really do not remember how long ago it was, I went on a trip to Henley with my sister Frankie.

We had a lovely day and after we had walked along the river we visited some of the shops.

As the afternoon wore on we found an art gallery, we popped inside and I spotted the most beautiful painting of a Dalmatian. I fell in love with him immediately.

The painting is by Mackenzie Thorpe . As I said I fell in love with the painting immediately and even though it was really out of my price range I wanted it. My sister convinced me I should by it as, as she put it ” you work, you earn why not have something you love occasionally.”

So I bought Herbert and his beautiful frame and Frankie and I walked through Henley with my massive and heavy expensive package.

So what did he cost….£99. This may not sound a lot of money for a piece of art but over twenty years ago, when I bought it, that was a princely sum.

My husband was shocked at the price thinking it was very extravagant. Mind you now we both love my piece of art. Herbert has been in the kitchen, the hallway, upstairs and downstairs. He is now in his permanent spot in the living room where we can see him everyday.

We both are glad I invested in this work of art.
