New Soul

Watch out my darling, watch where you are, on the edge of the highest cliff surrounded completely  by the stars.

Mind where you put your feet now, be careful where you tread. These cliffs are prone to crumbling and if you fall from here you will be dead.

I love the dress my darling the midnight shade of blue. It makes it very hard to see which is sky and which is you.

You have a glow about you tonight it emanates from your eyes. They have that wicked twinkle to match the myriad stars in the skies.

Tread carefully my darling do watch where you go there is ice under foot and it looks like snow. The rocks are already crumbling they fall like April rain  take care my love for if you fall you will not get up again.

Please come to me my darling, my newly escaped soul your not long back from the heaven so I like you stay whole. This place is not safe for either of us I hate to have to say that neither of us can fly and if anybody tells you different, my darling they just lie.

Sinuously, and slinkily she

Leaves the shadows of night behind.

Indigo black she shimmers

Nubile coiled like a spring

Kneaning her senses

It is her way

Ever coiled

Sleek of

Tail.

Keeping us safe in his hands

All good things

Fighting the darkness in spells

Showered with goodness

Ronovan Writes #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge 314 Finger&Planet

This is part of Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Haiku Challenge. The prompt words are Finger and Planet.

Two fingers meet firm

It’s just electrifying

Renews the planet .

True, Selfless Love.

I love dogs, the are the most loving animals, they work with us and for us. The most important thing is they give us unconditional love.

Our Dog Ruby is a retired guide dog, we have taken her for her free run exercise time since she started working at eighteen months, when she retired she came to live with us.

Below is a poem I wrote about a young friend of mine Natalie, she a real hero. She has a partner and two beautiful and clever children. Ruby and I have the privilege of joining her and Quala, her guide dog on Qula’s Free exercise walks.

I wrote this double Etheree about her and Quala last year .

Blind Faith

Trust

Is all

I ask for.

Never will I

Complain. I will learn.

Eighteen months training.

I always do my best

To help you at play and rest.

I am part of the family

Life without out me is a memory.

I’m your guide dog to help and set you free.

Trust

In her

I put my

Faith. She helps me.

Blind, I cannot see

Her presence sets me free.

She is with me everyday

We walk the children to the school.

You help me work and play, my best friend.

Quala and me together to the end .

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 13 (TRUE) This week, it’s the C rhyme line.

This is part of Ronovanwrite’s Décima poetry challenge which is also linked to his Weekly Haiku Challenge.

We are diminished as a whole
Like ever decreasing circles
Drifting out to Gaia’s center
Gentle ripples in times echo
Resounding loudly as they go
We’ve nearly lost fight it’s true
Blackening the earth and skies too
Can we escape the sands of time
Or will the bells ring out deaths chimes.
Is there anything we can do.

One

Two three

Lyndy and

Me. Playing in

The yard happily.

Four five six young and free

Life was good for Lyndy and me

Daddy made the scooter, we shared

Such happy days, we were free from care

Seven eight nine, endless days in the sun shine.

Time

Flew by

For Lyndy

And little me too.

Playing in fairy dells,

Ten, eleven Twelve

Summers were good to Lindy

And me.Thirteen fourteen fifteen.

We grew up cousin Lyndy and me

Close together, wherever we may be.

All hope will dwindle

Nature has no patience left

Lost in time Ripple.

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 12 (WIND) This week, it’s the B rhyme line.

This week for Ronovanwrite’s Décima Challenge I have used the word Wind, for the purpose of the rhyme, in the meaning of to wind up. Though I have hinted at a wind blowing too. I have also linked the Décima to Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Haiku Challenge.

Intent and Thought.

Through boughs intent on destruction
Tearing like a hurricane’s wind.
Such violence rips up my mind
Thought scattered around, disruption
No direction no conduction
My demise is its sole intent
Mindlessly hither and dither I’m sent
lt’s intention, to destroy me
To shipwreck me in misery.
Asunder I am slowly rent.

Thursday photo prompt: Dream #writephoto

This week’s prompt ~ Dream

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a pale pathway meandering through a field of purple heather towards the green of distant hills.

Sleep would not come, just waves of fear and pain. There was no silence either. Voices discussing, the news, gardens, family, Covid… I can’t blame them this was their day. Their shift, they would go home and sleep.

The scariest thing was the voice that echoed through the ward of the disturbed patient who repeated and repeated “It’s the Covid cough, the Covid, Covid, cough gonna get you” If he was not sleeping that’s all I could hear. It was better during the day because he’d call out for “Tea tea” and the nurses would bring him one and then he would shout “Happy Birthday” and we’d all smile.

At night it felt like he was closer, he was not, he was on the male side of the ward but sound carries at night. I was frightened, unreasonably so by this prophet of doom. I was lonely and in pain.

Then the pain spiked I had to give in and use my buzzer, the nurse came I told her I couldn’t take the pain. She gave me some intravenous painkillers as an extra to the antibiotics and fluid IVs. She stayed a while and then thankfully I drifted off to a better place.

There lies the path

Through seas of purple heather

Morpheus lifted

Me off to the land of dreams

Fear and pain was then banished.
