One-Liner Wednesday. Men.

Hubby and I took Ruby for her second walk this afternoon and I was walking just behind them. Ruby stopped suddenly, so did hubby, so I stopped too, so as not to walk into Hubby. Ruby shifted back as did hubby’s…right on to my fault.

Hubby snapped”Don’t stand right behind mind me…be more careful” ?????

Bloody Men.

Oh, my foot is sore up it is okay.

Vlad’s Valentine

Vampire is that mess for me

I have a sweet tooth you see

Dear lady, this sweet is for you

Make in Eton, with love true.

Vampire what can I say

A treat for me on Valentine’s Day.

Yes my dear, but it comes with strings.

If you eat it you will grow fangs and wings.

Vampire I think I can live with that

I’ll even consort with your black cat.

Then my lady let’s away

And make spooky love, come on lets play.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 44: (STEAL) in the B rhyme line.

Ronovanwrite’s Décima.

Ronovanwrite’s said :You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt of (BITE and Teeth). and this Décima Challenge of STEAL in the B rhyme lineThis means you could write a haiku post using the prompt words. Then do a Décima post using this week’s prompt uniting the two with a common message.
The two challanges are separate  but can be combined if you choose to do so.

Now Jo had abominable teeth
He needed to fix them for real
His mate fixed them for a true
steal.
His dental wizard was named Keith
Just to smile was such a relief.
To eat a meal was such a joy
With teeth so smart he was not coy.
He even asked Kay for a date
All thanks to Keith his new best mate.
His smile was now his pride and joy!

Butterflies in the Snow.

Butterflies in the snow.

Is that right, can it  be so

Am I seeing butterflies in the snow.

Gently round  my  fingers  they go

Little beauties don’t  you know

This is Winter’s realms

Yet here you are like tiny gems

Here in the glistening snow

Bright and bouncy not contrite

Stay and make this darkness bright

Keep me safe through Winter’s night.

Ronovan Writes #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge 344 BITE and Teeth.

Ronovanwrite’s

Jo had awful teeth
The overbite was a fright
Just to talk caused grief
One look, the dentist took flight
X-rays caused such disbelief.

Thursday photo prompt: Appointed #writephoto

It’s Thursday and time for Sue Vincent’s #writepho, which I have to say, I am delighted to see back again this week.

It has been suggested that Sue use the ‘Mister Linky’ widget rather than having to create a full round-up list every week… which is a good thing as her treatments and hospital appointments tend to be on Thursdays…

Sue asks as an experiment, would we mind clicking the green Mr Linky logo on her page, by entering our name and link to our post then clicking the box to accept the privacy policy, then press enter… we can save her a lot of work.

When you click, it should look like this screenshot, but empty and ready for you to fill in:

***********

For visually challenged writers, the image shows the black silhouette of a crow perched atop a blackened and dead-looking tree. In the background the sky is blue and the trees are decked in the full green leaf of summer…

This week’s prompt ~ Appointed.

“Hey Crow what are you doing up there?” asked the small dog with the wagging tail. The crow, though , startled did not move at once. Taking a deep breath he pretended to look off into the distance.

“What are you doing up there, and why is that tree all black and dead like winter looking”. ….. “Go away hissed the crow” trying to retain a semblance of nonshalance. But the small dog would not go away, and the small dog would not be quiet, she was an inquisitive dog.

Crow looked to the horizon taking in the blue sky and fluffy clouds and sighed… All this is wrong he thought, the tree was the only thing that was right…..black and dead. The rest of the surroundings were to bright and that awful word …pretty.

The small dog kept asking questions in a loud bark! Crow just ignored her and wondered why she would not go. The worrying thing was he was on a completely different plane of existence to this small dog and they should not see eachother at all.

Suddenly a woman arrived over the brow of the hill, “Hey Girly” she called “what are you barking about.” After catching her breath she continued. “Ah! I see it’s a crow, hello Mr Crow how are you today”

“Bloody confused ” muttered the crow. The woman laughed, “A confused corvid sitting in a dead tree, well done Girly you’ve found it” “Found what?” asked the small dog.

The woman smiled and hugged the small dog. “The title of my next book, The well appointed crow” she smiled.

The crow clicked his beak and said “but you can’t see me I am not in your time”

Even better said the woman “The well appointed crow who wasn’t there!” She laughed again and the small dog barked. The crow said no more.

Wordless Wednesday, Vlad and Button.

#JusJoJan prompt the 18th – “Wish”

My mother always said “be careful what you wish for. You don’t always get what you want.”

But I wish was Starbuck a starship pilot……..

image from here

Beneath this hard exterior there’s no soft marshmallow goo, there beats a heart of stone.

There’s never been any support for me so what I’ve achieved I’ve done on my own.

My parent’s never cared for me much so I never make any deep ties.

The only true love in my life is my star ship and the skies!

There’s only one man who could ever touch my soul but fate always intervenes ,

When I get together with Will Adarma there’s usually ugly drunken scenes.

I think he only sees me as one of the lads, so make out I don’t give a frack.

But I really fancy him, so ladies watch out or you’ll get my weapon in your back.

We have to save the worlds from the evil Cylon attack

We had them beaten once , but they evolved and now they’re coming back.

They have morphed to chrome and blood all covered with skin.

They are clever now, they infiltrated Caprica with spies

They blew up our worlds so we took the fleet and flew into the skies.

In Space we regrouped and planned, and I got to work closely with my man.

I will lead what’s left of our pilots and beloved ships

I am the best star fighter pilot but the fracks won’t give me shoulder pips.

It’s true I like a drink, gambling and a good cigar.

I am damn good in bed I’ll give you a good time what ever rank you are!

I am the best pilot as I have said before

I shall find the Cylon’s mothership and give the frackers what for!

I’ll rip the skin off Number Six and I’ll show her no quarter.

She beat the living crap out of me and then denied me even water.

I’ll lead you all to safety find you all another world

For I am really an angel that keeps her wings tight furled!

I am that star you see at night when it is darkest before the dawn.

I am the one who will shoot straightest so none of you need be forlorn.

I am the mighty Starbuck , Kara Thrace is my real name .

But what ever you call me I shall save you all the fracking same!

Yup that should of been me!

I wish I was a heroine who leads her people to a new life. Just to disappear and leave them on a green new planet  to start a new life. For them to discover that to be their guardian angel was the point of my life.

Dear Mum  and Dad

I don’t think I ever made  it clear enough  how I appreciated exactly  what  you did  for me. It is only  now  as a parent and grandparent that I see  what  you must of  gone  through.

Nine   children  you had, nine, you lost  three  but  that was never  your  fault. How  did  you cope  Mum it must of been hard, and Dad  worse  for you because in those days  grieving  was not  the done thing. I lost  three babies too, but early, in pregnancy. I could not openly  grieve  either  but  you knew  you silently  gave me strength.

How  did  you cope  Mum and Dad  how  did  you balance  help  and interference , how  come  you never  ended not  talking  to each other or to any of us.

Now  look see,  you have both  been gone so long  and I miss  you  both so. I need  you here  to give  me  the strength , kindness  and love. See  even now I am asking for  your  help. I am  so selfish, I was  so angry  when you died  Mum  because  you were not there  to talk to  me and  help  me, do you know  it took me 7yrs  to accept  that  you had really  gone.

Who  helped you, did  anyone  or did  you have to struggle  through learning haphazardly! You  no  doubt  had  to and  that is  why  you were  both such  helpful parents. I am amazed  at  the sacrifices  you  must  of  made  to  keep us in  clothes, shoes  and food.

Dad worked as a  body maker  for London Transport upholstering seats on the Tubes and buses! Off to work at  5am and home at  5pm for dinner 6pm the BBC News … silence  reined!

Mum you loved Wimbledon, when we finally got a TV you watched the tennis for the entire fortnight….the only change from tennis was the news for dad…..and it was salade for tea for the entire fortnight.

I miss you both very much even though you have been so long, I still feel your presence and I will always be grateful for all that you did for me.

Well I shall close  now  and  tell you  that  you gave  me lots of  love and  good advice and  support. I really  hope  that  you were both as proud of  me as you were the others.

I miss  you  and I love  you !
