K.L. Caley’s #writephoto Tomb.

For visually challenged writersthe image shows a table tomb. Whilst a lot of the stonework is eroded, it is obvious this was quite an ornate tomb in its time.

The Tomb – Image by KL Caley

Morgana woke with a start, as the fog cleared a headache and a huge hangover took charge of her head! …. “why oh why” she asked herself did she always party so hard? Not bothering to wait for an answer from herself she stood up and surveyed the the collateral. Bodies, booze, and a few nasties she decided not to investigate too closely, she smiled and thought that was a good week, that was. Lighting a cigarette she found her heels and headed for the door.
It was getting cold outside, the year was heading down to winter, popping back in the door for a second Morgana helped herself to a coat and headed off up the road to where she’d left Merlin’s BMW.

Parking the car, worse for wear and dirty, she left it just below Merlin, still thoroughly stuck in the bricked up arch. Smiling sweetly as she past him she said, “not long Hun’ I just need to freshen up! “

Later after a very silent meal, Morgana could not resist teasing Merlin, “Oh! What’s your problem Hun, you looked so cute as a little naked green man” Smirking Morgana look Merlin right in the eye, she loved to see him squirm ! Merlin was not looking his swarve self and his face was pinched with anger! He tutted as she lit another cigarette, “Why do you do that he asked you know it’s a killer” Morgana laugh, “Hun, we are immortal I am just gonna do as I please”
“Okay” said Merlin “you can do just as you please but we are here for a purpose and we have another job! “
“You say we Merlin but why is it always me that has to jump and cope? ” Merlin smiled and touched her arm, “Morgana my dear you are simply the best and while I am being honest I do think I went a tad too far over the cream tea incident. Mind you the damage you have done to my beautiful BMV …” He broke off there and Morgana thought she could see a tear in his eye.
After finishing his wine Merlin continued, “Anyway Morgana, this trip needs both of us, so you will not be going alone! ” Morgana choked on her drink, “How, you always said you had to be here to control the Anomaly, how will we get back?” she spluttered. Merlin mumbled something, Morgana kicked him, “what? louder” Merlin looked out the window and repeated, “I LIED!” Morgan threw what was left of her wine in his face and stormed out.

The next morning found them dressed in medieval garb, walk through heavy mists in an ancient cemetery…. They approached an old table tomb, they stood at the head and waited. Merlin looked very handsome and imposing in his wizards cloak he was just about to compliment Morgana, but she lit up a cigarette and the moment was spoilt.
After a few minutes the Anomaly arrived , the two linked hands and took the leap. To any onlookers it would of appeared that this strangely attired couple disappeared into the tomb. The only evidence they had been there was Morgana’s dieing cigarette on the ground by the tomb.

#TANKATUESDAY Weekly #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 245, #THEMEPROMPT

WELCOME TO TANKA TUESDAY!

Happy 5th Birthday Tanka Tuesday! 💜🌟

It’s the fourth week of the month! Are you ready for a theme prompt? Eugi (Franci Hoffman) from last month’s challenge picked the theme: This month’s theme is:

The Harvest Moon

© willowdot21

Caught
Like a
Startled cat
Quite bedazzled
Trapped in silver moonbeams
I am bewitched and bewildered
So entranced by the beauty I near swoon.
A huge silver sphere shedding magic, harvest moon.
These Autumn nights are full of witches flights
Ghosts and ghouls play us for such fools.
Please shine harvest moon on us
In your magic
Powers we
Surely
Trust.

🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕.

I wanted to do a Diatelle, but the rhyming rules would not let express myself as I had hoped, so I wrote a free verse Diatelle. I hope that is okay. A true Diatelle runs with syllables of 1/2/3/4/6/8/10/12/10/8/6/4/3/2/1 and a rhyming scheme of abbcbccaccbcbba.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Aug. 28, 2021. My- Yours.

Badge by Shelley Krupa.

LindaGHill popped up in my inbox today and she said : “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “my.” Start your post with the word “My.” Bonus points if you end your post with “yours.” Enjoy!

My, my ! Life can be full of surprises. My mind often reels at what it manages to throw at us. My family play a huge part in my life in fact they are my world. Children and grandchildren are a gift, they bring us grief but they also bring is pure joy.
My blog is a huge part of my life too, I have learnt a lot on there and made many friends.
To my delight we are heading into Autumn my favourite season, with colours of red and gold, mists, sunshine, frost and Halloween.
My mind is busily reeling at the fact that a whole week has sped by and this time last week hubby and I were getting ready for the fantastic Golden Wedding Anniversary party that our boys had organised for us. We had a wonderful day with family and friends. My hubby and I were truly touched!
Well that’s my ramble for this week’s SoCs…what’s yours.

The Argument.

Here is  another old  Halloween  poem  this  time  from  2013. I bring it out every year, it’s one of my favourites, so I make no apologies.

~~~~~~~~~~
I know that it is  raining,  I can see that it wet
But you are my familiar,  and not a blooming pet!
I have asked you nicely I have even said please
Now go and get me food or I shall infest you with flees.
Excuse me, Lady  Mistress, this does not seem quite right
Just where in my contract does it say I have to work for you at night!
You have run me ragged every minute of today.
I am tired now and my feathers are wet and here in the warm I need to stay.
Pardon me! my fine feathered friend,pardon me my beauty.
I am not requesting, I am demanding that you do your duty.
I am the one in charge not you , I am a tortured soul Vampire.
You do as I bid and don’t argue. Go, go on, What are waiting for. Wet weather attire?
Well Mistress that would not go amiss for I am not a duck,
And if I get lost  you will miss out and that would be such bad luck.
Be Gone! Get out! and find me fresh blood
And if you play your cards right I shall dip you in the stream on your return to remove the mud.girl_gloom_rain_raven_3512_1280x1024
Scream into  the rain
Autumnal Acrostic Poem, and a Halloween Poem.
Here are two Autumnal Poems I wrote back in 2014.
              Image Found Here
All the leaves are dancing, swirling down
Undulating  in the breeze round and round
Tumbling  rumblings scratching sound
Urgently  creatures searching for  their stores underground.
Misty mornings, chilly  nights, fireworks after  Halloween moon!
New seasons  Harvest Moon, witches and pumpkin men  will be here soon!
The sun’s heat  is  waning  and the nights  are drawing in.
Early morning porridge to keep  you warm the cold will nip your skin.
Summer sadly  has taken her up her shoes and left us the dark.
Ready  for the harvest and shorter winter days.
Time to get out  your  winter  coats  and your furry boots
The long  and lazy days  of  summer  have vanished in a haze.
Cars  driving with their lights on early, listen out for their  warning toots!
There might be captive Zombies hidden in their boots!
Interlude: Looking Back…
A beautiful clip from Sue Vincent’s silent Eye Blog.
“The circle opened its heart to welcome me back… and ‘welcoming’ was exactly the feeling Stuart reported later, with a good deal of surprise. It was not what he had expected from the place at all. It is hard to find words that describe it… as if each of the different types of stone… the sarsens, bluestones, gneiss and many others… all sing a different note, but no matter how beautifully they harmonise, their song needs to pass through the human heart in order to be heard, felt and lived. So it was with tears of gratitude streaming… and probably a very silly grin… that we finally entered the circle of stones.”
Second Year of Witch Taming !
Every Year my friend’s daughter, who lives just up the road from me, puts on a fabulous Halloween display. The last two years she has had trouble with three particularly errant witches! They refuse to be assembled, light up or even dress properly. So I have been enlisted to sort them out. This year I had to take hubby along with me too, to fix the electronics. We were successful, it only took us two hours.
Now some of you may know I am shielding as I am waiting for an operation, (I have been shielding for over four months now….it gets very boring) So the whole family gave me a wide berth and came nowhere near hubby or I . It was definitely an interesting two hours 😂
Why was I asked to help, because I had been a window dresser in my youth.
