Todays prompt comes from a friend of mine Jezzie G. The prompt is Friendship. Well I do not have a vast amount of friends but luckily for me I have a close few who I can really rely on who I believe would always open their door to me if I knocked. I have my hubby who I trust with my life and I hope he feels the same about me. Then there are my on line friends who I have to say have offered me the most amazing support and friendship…. You do know who you are 💜💜💜. Then of course there is Ruby and all my past beautiful furbabies.
Before I broke my back the second time, I was a busy working mum. I thought I had lots of friends…… I did but they were Fairweather Friends or aqquaintses when I fell (excuse the pun) from view I was soon overlooked and forgotten. The few who kept me in their sights and are still with me now are my Diamonds in the dust, as are my family and my blog family I thank you all. I do consider myself blessed.
My favourite saying about Friendship is: The finest vessel on the sea of life is the Friendship. Annon.
Back in 2011 when I was recovering from my accident and learning to walk again I wrote Diamonds in the Dust. Today I was delighted band intrigued to see Maggie had used the same words to end her beautiful post. Please read it here. So I dug it out and dusted it off and rewrote / reworked it to use it for today’s Jusjojan.
Diamonds in the Dust
Not always there in person but always by your side
To always lend that helping hand a loving special guide.
To understand when no one does to place in you their trust.
When all is lost and all others gone they’re the diamonds in the dust.
You’ve lost your purse and missed the bus, there’s just one person you can phone.
When you can talk and you can walk they’ll discretely drop you home.
They’ll pick you up and hose you down and make sure you are sober.
To find the shoe that you have lost all stones they will turn over.
They’ll help you out, ask for nought when all the rules you’ve bust
When all is lost and all others gone
They are the diamonds in the dust
To smile with you and delight in your pleasure and share your minor wins
They treasure you when all consign you to the bins
True to you they always stay no matter if you are far away.
It is never “Out of sight and out of mind” to support you is a must
They don’t forget, they’re always kind those diamonds in the dust.
So when you stand alone without a helping hand.
Hope gone and all seems lost the fires of fear fanned.
The ones who never left your side, who always waved your banner
Still stand for you at any cost they are as heaven’s manner.
So remember as you review your life
The good, the bad, all the damn strife,
As you separate the wheat from the chaff blown away in a winds gust.
The ones that stay and never sway are the diamonds in the dust.
