Throwback Thursday #65 – You Don’t Have to Be American to be Thankful Today

This week’s prompt for Thrown Thursday is: Being Thankful is bought to us from Maggie.

Maggie said “Since today is Thankgiving in the U.S. I thought it would be good to think back to your childhood, your family life, and the place where you were raised and reflect a little. Out of that reflection, simply write something about your past you are thankful for today. It can be one thing or many – that is totally up to you. Feel free to share an old photo or a simple remembrance. May peace and gratitude find you wherever you are today.”

*********

Now I know Maggie said to look back to our childhood and share rememberance of back then, that we are grateful for, well I have done that very often on here, so today I am going off piste and I am going to share what I am grateful for today, I actually mean today.

Five am and I woke up with cramp, nothing unusual about that. As I was getting back into bed I felt very woozy. Then the whole room started spinning. .. I laid very still and breathed as deeply as I could. Unfortunately ten to fifteen minutes later I start to feel terrifically sick. I get out of bed and stagger forward bumping into the dresser… Then I just can’t get my bearings and feeling sick and dizzy I crumple to the floor and call for hubby. I then crawl to the bathroom with his assistance.

Back in bed and the whole room is spinning at 50 M.P.H. while I am laying still and scared sick. It just kept getting worse. Eight am we rang the Dr’s surgery, eight thirty the Dr rang and told me to go to A&E which we did. I can’t go through the whole day but we were there for 6/7 hours. I had blood tests and ECG neaurological tests, eye tests, blood pressure and had my ears and throat looked at, still they did not identify cause. Possible viral infection. They have given me some pills in case it happens again.

I am home and after not eating all day I have had a small dinner and two mince pies. I am grateful to hubby for looking after me at 5am, rining the Dr at eight am, taking me to the hospital and staying with me then bringing me home and looking after me.

I am grateful to our middle son for taking time out of his day off to go round to our house and looking after Ruby. I am grateful to the doctors and nurses who looked after me. I am grateful to the other two of our sons for caring and ringing. I am very grateful for being in bed with a warm electric blanket! I am grateful and thankful to be feeling a little better. I am still feeling sick so I am off to sleep now. I hope you all have plenty to feel grateful for, I hope those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving today and those of you who didn’t all found plenty to be Grateful and Thankful for. Good night I love you all.

I shall be back tomorrow to read your posts and comment. Nighty ✨

Oh, Willow. My heart goes out to you. This sounds like my first attack of vertigo. I thought I was having a stroke. I hope you are much improved. Take care of yourself.

Oh dear! I hope it’s nothing serious! It sounds like vertigo and I hope, if that’s what it ends up being, that yours is brief and not as long as some can get it! Get better soon!

Though I’m glad you’re feeling better, I do wish they knew what caused it and how to fix it next time. Hopefully there won’t be a next time. Stay well my friend.🤗😘🙏
