This is our prompt for K.L. Caley’s#writephoto Tractor. This week finds Morgarna in dire straits, with Merlin and Gail jumping to her aid. While the alien Entity is busy causing havoc in the past and present!

Tractor

They landed by the river, further along they could see shadows of trees which the fog is starting to blur. “Oh! My it’s so cold here Merlin where are we”
“We’re in the North of England” Merlin replied getting out his special compass , two miles from the village and it looks like Morgarna is not far either. Let’s head towards the village and see what we can find out. Now don’t say too much and follow my lead”
The two set off into the fog.

In the Dungeon, John was listening opened mouthed as Morgarna explain how she came to be in this filthy hole with him.

John was shocked at what Morgarna had to say, he told her he had not left the dungeon since he had been thrown in here after waking up from the beating he’d received from the man who looked just like him .
“That’s the point John I believe the
man who beat you senseless , the man you saw kill Annette is not a man, he is not of this world, he is a shapshifter. ” Morgarna paused she could see that John had no comprehension of what she was saying, that made her feel better because this guy was truly just plain John.
Morgarna was going to say more when the dungeon door opened and two guards entered , they pushed John to one side and one grabbed Morgarna by the hair while the other one unlocked the chain that shackled her to the floor.
“Come on Missie there’s big plans for you!” He laughed.
“Where are you taking her ” cried John . ” Never mind lad you have enough to worry about there’s a man with a rope waiting for you.”
As they dragged Morgarna through the door she shouted over her shoulder ” don’t worry John I am here to help ” though if she was honest right at that moment she was not sure if she could help anyone.

Gail was really glad she had chosen one of Morgarna’s fur cloaks it was warm and cosy against the fog. As they went along Merlin explained a few things about how she would find conditions in the village so that she would not be too shocked by the place.
“I am so glad I have warm socks and boots on did you see those people who past us they had rags wrapped around their feet and they smelled like they’d not changed their clothes for a month!” Gail said wide eyed.
“They probably haven’t Gail, only the rich have shoes and cloak’s and even the richest will have nothing as useful as you are wearing. We will have to think of a good reason for your attire ..” Merlin finished abruptly . There were men on horseback approaching them.
“What ever is said or happens Gail follow my lead and keep quiet and I warn you now I may have to use some magic so don’t be shocked! “

Merlin and Gail crouched in the bushes while the riders circled around, “Michael are you sure you saw something…you know those surfs would not dare to be out after curfew”
“Aye milord, I was sure I did perhaps they are in the bushes sir shall I send the dogs in to pick up their scent?”
“Yes Michael do that and if you find them and the dogs have not torn then apart bring them up to the castle. Garth, William come you can escort me back now I want my supper a drink and a wench! “
As the lord and his two men rode off Michael whistled to his dogs. Two huge deer hounds thrashed through the bushes to his side.
“Find them boys and quick I’m cold and I want my supper too”
Gail looked at Merlin her eyes huge with fear. Merlin put his finger to his lip , he waved his other hand and before Gail’s eyes two steaks appeared. As the dogs came through the bushes Meriln threw the steaks to them as the dogs fought over the meat he took Gail by the waist and leap up into the branches of the nearest tree.
He put his hand on Gail’s mouth and smiled.
As Michael stood under the tree he sctetched his head ..” Well boys I guess I was wrong there’s no one here. Come on larksphere, here arrow there’s no one here, Now Boys” he shouted.
Both dogs came to heel looking very happy and contented. “Well you two look happy did you get a rabbit, well I am starving come on let’s go ” As he mounted his horse he looked over his shoulder one last time , shrugged his shoulders before riding off with the two contented dogs following behind.

“I think” said Merlin as he lifted Gail down from the tree “we need to visit the castle …I bet your bottom dollar that is where Morgarna is.”

Morgarna really could not get her head around what was going on. She’d been manhandled from the dungeons right up into the garret , she was filthy and stank as bad as the guards… She was cold and her hands and feet were bound. The guards had taken her boots from her and her feet were frozen! Worst of all something was blocking her powers.
Looking out of window…no glass yet , the North wind howling round her she shivered and tears burnt her face.

Several hundred years in the future the entity that had stolen John’s body was emerging through a time crack. He/ it spotted an empty red tractor, engine running the driver was in bushes relieving himself. Changing into a human form the entity stole the tractor and made his merry way off towards the village.

She has never had to cope with anything like this before . She is an immortal sourceress and instead of having the upper hand she is having to cope with being vulnerable. 💜

How gripping and exciting! On a broader sense, you are writing what readers need to read, fiction. It’s the foundation for emotional and social development for children and young adults. It’s how they learn goodness and kindness, evil and wrong. Apologies for the teacher in me tangent, but know that when you write good fiction it makes a difference. Cheers for Morgarna!

Thank you so much for the encouragement, I can hear the teacher in you as I can in all the teachers I meet on wordpress but I like that . I love to read your words and feel your passion for the generations to come. I hope our two grandsons have passionate teachers like you.
Morgarna has a battle ahead of her …as I write this story stream of consciousness I never know which way things will go until the photo prompt arrives! …have a good day .💜
