Halloween Eve !

A Witch’s worse nightmare.

Image from Pixabay

It is hard when you’re witch,

Your presence gives polite society an itch.

When you float by in your latest gown

Women scream and men hit the ground.

Now all of the above could be a boon

Were it not Halloween very soon.

It is not my job to please them.

It is enough to make you shout and scream

When your hair looks good on Halloween.

A careless sprite has cleaned my dress

Dabbed away all signs of mess.

No! that really can’t be right,

Looking tidy on All Hallows Eve Night.

To make it worse I just received a call to say

My Vampire friends can’t come and play.

OH! tell me what’s a girl to do

I think I am coming down with flu.

I think I have really lost the plot, that guy over there just told me I look hot!

Look at me, I look like a fairy,

What’s going on, I should be Bloody Scary Mary!

No, I did not think so,

Eek! I just looked in the mirror where did all my attitude go?

What is a self respecting witch to do

Some pesky imp has used all my goo !

There is only one night until Halloween

And I look like a Fairy Queen.

It gets worse, damn, this just is not fair

None of my rags are fit to wear.

They all make me look stunning .

This is the work of evil and cunning

I guess I shall just have to go and hide

Looking like this, the gossip I’ll never survive.

I shall just climb into a box

And dine on pig’s swill and slops.

I just don’t know what I have done

I even crave a little rest in the sun??

Help, this is not right I am a creature of the night.

Some sneaky sprite has put a hex on me.

The only thing I can do is flee.

Halloween Acrostic Poem.

Hale and hearty ghosts and scary ghouls

Awake October, thems the rules

Lupines greet the harvest moon

Luna rays excite their mood

Over graves mist does swirl

Witche’s cauldrons.

Jim Adams Song Lyric Sunday. Tactile.

Hi everyone it’s Sunday again and time for Jim Adam’s Song Lyric Sunday. Our prompt this week is– Embrace, Hug, Kiss.

Jim Adams.

I have chosen Wild is the Wind , but not from Nina Simone or the wonderful Johnny Mathis version but The David Bowie version. The words Kiss and Caress are in the lyrics so I reckon I am covered. Anyway this is such a lovely song and this version , as much as I love the others is my favourite.

David Bowie recorded a version of “Wild Is the Wind” for his 1976 album Station to Station. Bowie was an admirer of Simone’s style, and after meeting her in Los Angeles in 1975, he was inspired to record the song for his album. Bowie later said that Simone’s version “really affected me… I recorded it as an hommage to Nina.”

Bowie took special care with the contemporary rock arrangement and production of “Wild Is the Wind”, committing to an emotional and romantic vocal performance, the words drawn out more slowly and with a greater sense of loss, following the 1966 Simone version rather than the Mathis original.

Love me, love me, love me, love me
Say you do
Let me fly away
With you
For my love is like
The wind
And wild is the wind
Wild is the wind

Give me more
Than one caress
Satisfy this
Hungriness
Let the wind
Blow through your heart
For wild is the wind
Wild is the wind

You
Touch me
I hear the sound
Of mandolins
You
Kiss me
With your kiss
My life begins
You’re spring to me
All things
To me

Don’t you know you’re
Life itself

Like a leaf clings
To the tree
Oh my darling,
Cling to me
For we’re like creatures
Of the wind
Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind

You
Touch me
I hear the sound
Of mandolins
You
Kiss me
With your kiss
My life begins
You’re spring to me
All things
To me

Don’t you know you’re
Life itself

Like a leaf clings
To the tree
Oh my darling,
Cling to me
For we’re like creatures
In the wind
And wild is the wind
Wild is the wind

Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
