#TankaTuesday Weekly #Poetry Challenge No. 287, 8/30/22, #ShareYourDay

WELCOME TO #TANKATUESDAY!

It’s the fifth Tuesday of the month!  #ShareYourDay is a way to get to know each other better. Take a photo and write a syllabic poem about your day. Don’t think on it too hard. Make it fun. The photo does not need to be a selfie. If you don’t have access to a camera, find an image on Pixabay.com (please add the credits) that best describes your .

I am going to the wedding of my niece next week and I have spent most of today sorting out what to wear…. I have used two photos, I hope that is okay.

I chose to write a The Butterfly Cinquain is an unrhymed, nine-line syllabic poem with 2-4-6-8-2-8-6-4-2 syllables per line.

Luckily I tend to be a keeper and a mix and matcher! The lilac outfit was bought for our youngest’s graduation.. in 2003 though the green dress is new, I still have the black velvet dress I wore to our eldest’s 18th … He’s 49 years in October!
Hubby well he just said can’t I go in jeans?

I am with your hubby on that. I really don’t like putting on the suit and tie. I get what you are saying about being a mix and matcher – everything was classic so I didn’t have to think. All I have left from when my boys were teens is my jewellry as most of that was given to me by GG, still wear a couple of the rings, and more masculine neck chains.

It’s a really funny thing …I have jewelry but it is not really important… Except personal bits 💜

I get what you mean, mine is mostly Gabbie, a ring from my grannie (totally art deco tat but its art deco), and my milestone pieces – hah a pair of cufflinks and tie pin – neither I am gonna wear – but they matter

The tie pin and cuff links …yes they are a real Biggie 💜

Except I have never had a shirt that takes cuff links – oh the insanity

Great take on the ‘Share your day’ prompt. In future I shall also make any wardrobe decisions by means of butterfly cinquain! Now that I’ve read your piece, it seems the only logical way to proceed…

Willow, you will look stunning! I like Britta’s idea. We should all write a butterfly cinquain as a way of making wardrobe decisions. LOL! 💜

Ah, I wonder which you chose, Willow. You said in the post I read earlier today that you didn’t think pastels suited you. Admittedly, I like the green dress best, it is very pretty.

    It seems
    You chose quite well
    Conservative but cute
    Especially the hat and shoes
    I say
Just looks to me to be perfect
    Even though you went Spring
    For this event

Willow, I think it’s really cute how you took that second photo of only the dress you ended up selecting – you’re funny 😀
