This week Morgarna and Merlin have a seriously ill Morgause to deal with, will they get help from Vivianne, the Lady of the Lake? Let’s see how they get on.

Morgarna looked at Morgause as she lay wrapped in Merlin’s cloak on a bed of furs. ….”What the hell are playing at Mers why have you bought her here, surely she’d be better off at the lab? “
Merlin raised a hand to silence her, ” She just fell deeper in to this coma, I did everything I knew, modern science, medicine and ancient magic nothing works, nothing! “
Morgarna reached out and touched Morgause’s forehead it was stone cold and so pale.
“But why here, why Avalon? Are you hoping your old flame will resurface and help you “
“No you look ” it was the voice of a woman, it was Vivianne. Morgarna stood back as the Lady of the lake approached.

Morgarna was sitting outside the arrival of Vivianne had really shocked her as had the transformation of the ruins back to their former glory of the days of Avalon.
She was smoking a cigarette and drinking the last of her emergency supply of Bacardy and Coke.
Never thought we’d see her again she mused to herself, then she jumped as she heard Merlin’s voice in her head … “Shut up Morgana, shut up!”
It was twilight and the mainland had disappeared and sitting out by the entrance to the castle Morgarna felt alone swimming in time and space …to her surprise she was afraid….What if Morgause died?…. No , no she was immortal, what if she never woke up? What if Vivianne bewitched Merlin again and he deserted her….what if?
As she lit another cigarette Vivianne appeared at her side. “So many what ifs Morgarna, your’ll give yourself a headache thinking like that! “
Morgarna look at Vivianne, most senior of sorceresses, an original, older and more black than herself. She was so beautiful, with her blonde hair, eyes of Lapis Lazuli and willowy figure all who looked upon her were bewitched.
“But not you child, nor Merlin for that matter for you are both almost my equals”
“It’s rude to read my mind” Morgana pouted, “it’s not on!”
“Well don’t make it so easy! Child come we have work to do”.
Morgarna put out her cigarette with her heel and the two women went back inside the castle. “I see you still have more bad habits than good” Vivianne’s voice echoed inside Morgarna’s head.

The three sorcerers worked all night making a potion, Vivianne very much in charge but to Morgarna’s surprise she was much kinder than she remembered.
Finally after three days of preparation, days in which Morgarna had tended to her sister and had not left her side to eat or sleep , Vivianne announced that the treatment was ready.
Taking a goblet full of the liquid from her cauldron she flicked it around the room. The droplets were like shooting stars, they lit the room in gold, silver and red. They hissed and sparkled and they all joined as a crown around Morgause’s head.
Vivienne then poured the rest of the liquid in to Morgause’s mouth. Her whole body changed colour and she shook from head to foot.
Then Morgause’s body rose above their heads and spun violently gaining speed until she was just a blur.
“Now” screamed Vivianne to Morgarna, who opened a large black box with a white pentangle drawn on all sides. ‘Get ready to catch her Merlin your’ll need magic the speed she’s moving at.’
Morgause’s mouth opened and a high pitched scream came from deep inside her. It got louder and louder until it was ear splitting.
Then there was a blinding flash and out of Morgause’s mouth flew six screaming shadows, Morgarna held the box up and after much fighting finally they were all were caught and Morgarna slammed the lid reciting an ancient sealing spell.
As soon as the shadows were sealed in the box Merlin started to chant a spell and threw a net of stars at Morgause , gently he slowed her down and then he reeled her in.

For the next three days Morgause slept but now she slept real healing sleep not the evil undead coma the that the shadows had held her in .
Finally she awoke and it was decided that she would stay with Vivianne in Avalon for a while to recover.
That evening all four of them boarded Vivianne’s boat and as the moon rose they sailed out to the middle of the lake. Merlin hurled the box into the lake, immediately Excalibur leaped out of the lake and into Vivianne’s hands, she waved it around invoking the powers for good to keep the shadows of evil, prisoners for eternity.

As the boat made its way back to Avalon the Anomaly appeared in the sky… “Looks like it your time to go ” said Morgause, “Indeed it is” said Vivianne.
And so Merlin and Morgarna jumped!.

It was early dawn as they stood in the park near their lab. They looked up the hill towards the pavilion on top of the hill, they were both exhausted and greatful to be just a five minute walk from home. “Will she be okay ” asked Morgarna. “Of course with the lady of the lake caring for her she will be fine.”
“I guess” Morgause replied.
Then Merlin froze, “Shit, Morgs are those more shadows” looking up the hill to the shilouette of the pavilion.
