Two years on . The plague.

The planet was struggling it’s true
From space it was no longer blue
It was suffering from millennia of wars and abuse
People pleaded for change, no use.
Most tried to help Earth
They knew the planets worth.
Then came the plague
No respecter of king or knave
It cut through the ranks and top brass
No preference for age or class
It sent weak, old and young to the grave.
Emptied the streets and Malls,
Pubs, clubs and church halls.
It stopped the planes and the trains
The fat cats lost their profits and gains.
Huge nations brought to their knees
As scientists searched for the keys
To the elusive cure to rid all of the bain.
Just when it could not get worse
Hate joined fear with a curse.
The people turn on eachother
Neighbour, husband, wife, sister, brother.
Empty shops, no fuel they could not stand
Then all civilian movement was banned
So crops and animals died on the land.
Drones flew over head, all was scanned.
Mother Nature watched with a tear
Chaos in weeks, rebellion, extinction within a year.

I originally wrote this before the plague hit the UK almost two years ago. I had no idea then how close I would get to the truth. We have had quite a few varients the lastest being Omicron B.

This latest varient is the fastest spreader yet! We are heading down the lockdown wormhole again, our numbers are soaring and the hospitals are filling up fast.

So as we dive into yet more unknowns I thought I’d write another verse or two. Before I do, I have personally lost close family to Covid, two of my sons have had Covid also and are feeling the affects of long Covid. So I am not talking without knowledge of the beast .

Then it got worse

The politicians grew hornes and lied.
The people misled in their millions died.
The hospital staff were exhausted and beat
This virus had us all in retreat
They begged us to stay home
We did as families and many suffered alone.
Three lockdowns we have had
Could closing our boarders made it less bad?
The answer we will never know
Because our leaders were too slow.

The virus kept mutating
With it there is no debating
It’s determined to get us all
Especially those who refuse the vaccine
And those who, to wear masks are not keen.
They can’t be bothered to socially distance
They rather do their own thing
They said it not real even when they get the ping .
They say track and trace
Is just a waste of space .
Until they’re ill and the NHS is their saving grace!
From their hospital beds near to death
They gasp so short of breath
Wishing they’d had the jab arm
So this virus had caused them less harm.

So another Christmas where we’re not sure
To have family come through our door.
We miss seeing family and friends
But we just don’t know where this ends.
So take care and be safe
Hopefully by God’s grace
We will all last another year.

To all our loved that we lost to Covid.

All the above said, and I could of said a lot more about lies and politicians…. May I say that I feel we still have hope but we must change our old lives have gone.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.

Female, wife, full time mother and Grandmother. I am not as happy go lucky as I used to be but I am still bubbling along on simmer! I have three handsome sons all grown and flown. The youngest married with a beautiful wife and two sons of his own. Back in 2010 I was working, running a home, driving and socializing then bang in a split second all that was gone. I had an accident at home. I broke my back, not for the first time, I had broken it 10 years previously as well. Unfortunately this time I had broken it really badly and it was truly messed up so I had to have two operations. I was told before each operation that the outcome could mean I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Still as some guy once wrote "I am still standing " yes "better than I ever was " I no longer use the walking stick . I had lots of friends before the accident but when things like this happen, you loose most of them. Their lives move on and mine stood still and so they left me behind ...I know that is just the way life is but it hurt and always will. Then I looked around and saw those who were still there for me, these friends are the roses in my garden they need to be tended well. They are the diamonds in the dust. I will of been married 53yrs this comming year. I have found different ways to approach life, use my pain befriend it almost...yer right , well that is what they tell me at the pain clinic ROFLMAO ...... if only I could! I have found an outlet for my fears, frustrations and night terrors . I have started writing poetry if that name can be applied to my writing. I hope I do not come over as a moaning winger. I hope I am past all that. I also hope that you might see how the poetry is moving from very dark through the grey and hopefully in to light. My back is no longer straight it is C shaped because of the injury and I have lost two and a half inches in height but my Pilates and Core teachers have helped me to stand up as straight and be as strong as possible. Pain and depression are still hanging on my arm but I have weapons to use against them and if I say so myself I cope well. I have made lots of new friends, real diamonds. I am also very grateful for all the support and help I have encountered here on Wordpress. Hugs and welcome to everyone who visits.

    1. It’s been such a long haul hasn’t it? Right now it feels like we are no better off than when we were at the start. .. stay safe my friend 💜💜💜

      1. I know! Two of my sons had it. I think they are okay now. I think it is a big mistake not to close down and let folks know masks/vax and we’re all set free again. With the newer versions even we who abide are still in danger. Had misinformation not blasted out I think we’d be over it by now. Bah!
        You stay safe, too. 🤗💜🤗💜🤗💜

      2. I know your your boys have had it too and thank God they are okay now. Just be aware this new varient is nasty. 💜🎄☃️💜💜

      3. Staying in our little shell as usual. I have heard that about Delta, and Omicron is unpredictable. Masks, shots, and enjoying isolation, the new norm. Still, Zoom has me more social than I’ve been in a long time. Let’s stay healthy!💝😘🤗💜🎄⛄🎉🥳

  1. well said, and it just never ends – i’m sorry for those who are close to you and have been lost or impacted by it

    1. Thank you Beth for caring. Be safe and Omicron B is hospitalising people don’t be fooled it’s serious.
Sorry to be so serious, Happy Christmas ☃️🎄☃️

  2. It’s not going to go away Willow. Now those in hospital have not been vaccinated, but expecting to be cured, hogging beds vital for people with other medical conditions that will go untreated. The world has gone mad, and our leaders don’t give a rats ass as the needy, disabled, elderly and infirm are being bled dry by greed.

  3. I like “Then it got worse” much better! Quite apropos for the day. I suspect this too shall pass though, and I won’t live my life in fear. History is going to remember this event as we remember Salem’s witch hunt. It is exactly the same. Our politicians are using it to scare the population in order to grab power. The citizens vent in rage, enough to throw each other under the psychedelic bus of hallucination or the sheer fear of panic. Cancelling, they call it. What a loving trait for humans to share. Over something news media is obviously lying about. Forced vaccinations that have little affect. In the end we’re gong to find that after watching all the mayhem, the virtual hangings, people burning alive at the stake of peer hatred, we find it is probably three little weasel girl teenagers who schemed to make the story up combined with the towns wheat supply being infected with the hallucinogenic mold called Ergot. Happy Christmas, dear old friend. Don’t eat the wheat.

    1. Oh! Hi there dear friend, so good to hear from you. Thank you John , we will look back on this all one day and smile. Maybe not in my life time though. Our politicians and leaders are our greatest enemies, I know the virus is real because it’s taken a family member and made others in the family and friends very ill.
That aside, we’ll keep off the wheat and I wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and safe Christmas ⛄⛄🎄

    1. Thank you Lorraine, I am glad that you found the words got the message over. If only it could reach everyone. We need to open our eyes and work together.
I wrote the first half before the pandemic arrived here and I have been shocked at how close to the truth I got.
The first video ,by James Blunt reminds us how scary the Covid was at the beginning and how we need to work together, the second, the children’s choir because they are the future. God bless you and keep you safe. Thank you for the reblog💜💜💜

  4. I feel your words. Very sorry for your loss Willow. Covid is real and the misinformation makes it worse. I hope your sons continue to improve against long haul. You’re right, we still have hope. Maybe next year? Until then stay safe.

  5. Excellent post, Willow. I agree with you on everything. What’s especially sad is how it has divided us, and how too many refuse the vaccine for political reasons. I am aghast at their reasoning. (Or rather their lack of reasoning.) Meanwhile I still suffer from long covid, after 19 months and my senses of smell and taste never returned. That’s just a small thing, compared to the needless loss of life…..
I could go on and on but will stop for now. 😤

Hope you had a great Christmas!
    🎄😊☃️❤💚

    1. Oh! Don’t get me start on Covid I think I have put a lot of backs up speaking how I see it ! But I will be true to what I believe! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day 💕
