TREES

I love nature and I have always loved trees. I often find myself drawn to them and can spend hours in their company.

Bare in the winter

Silent in snow

Covered in blossom in spring

Birds nest in your branches and sing

Summer brings green leaves

And you give us shade

Autumn’s hues are a sight to behold

Silent a history of secrets you hold.

Trees know so much, they see so much. We use them to build, for warmth, for furniture. We give little back. We, humans as a race are users. Vast forests and jungles are cleared in the name of progress.

Hopefully with the splinters and ashes and discarded furniture the trees go back into mother Earth so new ones may grow.

Trees and vegetation were here before us, they will be here when we are gone.

I enjoyed your photos, poems and thoughts about trees. You are right, humans are such users. We need to start thinking more about what we take from nature.

Lovely post. Trees are part of the lifeblood of our planet. They can survive without us, but we can’t survive without them…

We take trees so much for granted, yet they are a vital part of our habitat and world. Lovely post and images Willow. How is Ruby today?

Thank you Lorraine glad you liked it💜💜💜 The Vet was more positive. He has taken splint away and she is back in a dressing. It’s weeping a bit but seems much less now than last week. 🤞We still have to keep an eye on it as the wetness can create skin difficulties. Might have to change the dressing tonight. He implied we could go back Monday for a recheck but hubby said he would take her back tomorrow. It costs everytime we go and it’s a bit of a journey but we’d rather be safe than sorry. So it’s fingers crossed at the moment. It’s the best news we’ve had so far💜

Why is the prompt delivered by Linda so thoughtfully woven into such a beautiful event on your site, and mine is just some story created by a meandering old fool?

I really like these photos, and your poem is lovely. Walking in the woods is a favorite activity of mine. I don’t get to do it often enough. I think I should change that.

Beautiful pics and I love what you said “[They] were here before us, they will be here when we are gone”. Our lives on earth are but a fleeting moment compared to these giants.
