Lest We Forget.

Death, Desolation, Destruction!
Men taught hate men taught to wait til death comes to claim them
Stink, Stench Smell
Bodies sinking in the mud tell their own story.
Is this man’s best glory.
Drench, Damp Dripping
Their guns are filthy, bullets all spent. They all gave up hoping.
Boom,Bang Whistle,
They no longer hear they no longer fear the hair on their necks no longer bristle.
Dead all dead and left to rot .
This was the war to end all wars?
How soon we all forgot
Nothing has changed but the theater of war.
They still battle, on the fringes they know the score.
Shout , Scream Squeal they will still advance they have lost the ability to feel.
No longer human their souls are worn out and why are they out there? Can you answer beyond any doubt.
Fight for your sight fight freedom for all ..
As if that day will ever dawn wait to hear the cock call!
Death, Desolation, Destruction!
Men taught hate men taught to wait til death comes to claim them.

Song Lyric Sunday: The Cycle Of Life.

Jim Adams

Its Sunday and time for Jim Adams to give us a prompt for Song Lyric Sunday this week November 14, 2021 it’s Birth, Death, Life.

Well if you’ve read my blog for any length of time you may of noticed I really love and respect Imogen Heap as a singer, songwriter and musician.

Imogen’s partner is Michael Lebor, a British film maker. In 2014 they had a baby girl Florance, Scout, Rosie, Heap-Lebor..Imogen wrote a fantastic song about Scouts birth and how hard she found being a new mother. She said that she and Micheal thought the were ready and prepared for parenthood, they were not.

What I love about this song and her admittion that for all her money, fame and well of help she found it hard and that made being able to love her new baby hard. I knew this feeling and could remember being scared and alone and not able cope with this Tiny Human that was solely dependant on me! Like most of us Immie got there and Scout must be seven years old now….

“Tiny Human”

Oh my tiny human
At 05:08 you break me apart again
The space-time continuum
Buckles and bends around your every twist and turn

I can barely remember life before
You came crashing in on one day
Crazy beautiful you
Blind me like the dawn
After ashes fell on Pompeii
Crazy beautiful you

A miracle, a mystery
And one short stop away
From joy to misery
When the night becomes day
I give you my every last ounce
You make a pin-cushion out of me
And you can thank me later, babe (if I’m alive)
How long can one live without sleep?

Still I can’t stand to imagine
Life without…
You came crashing in on one day
Crazy beautiful you
Blind me like the dawn
After ashes fell on Pompeii
Crazy bright beautiful you

Suddenly propelled
So many light years from bliss
And completely unprepared
How can anyone deserve this?
I’ve tried, I’ve tried all the tricks in the book, I’m at my wits end
Now look here what do you want from me!?

I can barely remember life before…
You came crashing in on one day
Crazy beautiful you
From the ashes of Pompeii
To fireworks and champagne
Crazy beautiful you

You little devil, you
Oh I love you so much
It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done
But you’re so worth it
Yes you are
Yes you are
You little devil, you.

AtoZ Lyrics.

Daniel” is a song by English recording artist Bat for Lashes, from her second studio album, Two Suns. It is her best-selling single to date, selling over 46,000 copies worldwide. The song was announced as the lead single from Two Suns in January 2009, then released as a digital download single on 1 March 2009, and as a 7″ vinyl single on 6 April 2009. The track was written by Natasha Khan and produced by David Kosten, as with all tracks on the album. Ira Wolf Tuton from Yeasayer provided the bass lines for the song and Khan did the rest of the instrumentation herself.

To me this song is a out the death of a young man or the death of a relationship….either way it reaks of death to me.

Lyrics

Daniel when I first saw you
I knew that you had a flame in your heart
And under our blue skies
Marble movie skies
I found a home in your eyes
We’ll never be apart

And when the fires came
The smell of cinders and rain
Perfumed almost everything
We laughed and laughed and laughed

And in the golden blue
Crying took me to the darkest place
And you have set fire to my heart

When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that’s vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home

But in a goodbye bed
With my arms around your neck
Into our love the tears crept
Just catch in the eye of the storm

And as my heart ran round
My dreams pulled me from the ground
Forever to search for the flame
For home again, for home again

When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that’s vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home

When I run in the dark, Daniel
To a place that’s vast, Daniel
Under a sheet of rain in my heart
Daniel, I dream of home

In 1975 I had two of our boys , one nearly two the other new born, we lived on a new housing estate having only recently arrived there so I knew no one, I didn’t drive, as with our previous house I was miles from anywhere. Hubby was away for days on end and when he was working in London he was off early and home very late from work. I was lonely but I had music and 10cc where a big favourite of mine!

“Life Is a Minestrone” is a 1975 song by 10cc released as a lead single from their third album, The Original Soundtrack.

The track was written after Lol Creme and Eric Stewart were driving home from Strawberry Studios and a BBC Radio presenter said something that they only partly heard, but which Creme interpreted as “life is a minestrone”. Stewart and Creme believed the phrase to be a good title for a song on the grounds that life is, according to Stewart in a BBC Radio Wales interview, “a mixture of everything we pile in there”. They had the song written in a day.

So, there we have it Birth, Death,Life.

Oh! Incase you think I cheated with Death represented by Daniel here is Death on Two Legs, on of my favourite Queen tracks. Let’s let Queen explain
