The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS October 9, 2021 On Sunday!

Badge by Shelley Krupa.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “lid.” Use it in the literal sense, use it in the metaphorical sense, use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Keep a lid on it, means keep something quiet, don’t tell a soul, a secret. Blow your lid, get angry or annoyed. Blow the lid, let the secret out.
A lid is a top to a container, it can be for a box, tin, saucepan infact any type of container can have a lid.
Personally I think lids have legs, arms and eyes because I have many containers in my cupboards but most of the lids have disappeared? Where do these lids go? Is there a place where all lost lids are having a huge party?

What ever you do
They told her
To this be true
To us defer
Don’t lift the lid
Never let loose what’s hid
She didn’t listen
She needed to know.
They found the lid missing
It was her fault, she had to go.
All of the ills and pain and strife
Escaped and blighted all life.

I agree, Sis. There is somewhere special where random lids congregate! 💜

Great poem, and Pandora’s box shouldn’t be opened.

All the lost lids are probably hanging out with the single socks that go missing from the laundry… 🙂

As others have noted, where *do* the lids go? 😂😂😂

Actually, I usually end up with more containers missing than lids – go figure! I finally devised a system – if the container is gone, so is the lid -I just shuffle out the ones that are a bit “iffy’ – slight cracks or what have you, and vice versa, but in the darkest reaches of a cupboard, I know there are still lurkers!

Cheers to a great SoCs – and yeah, Pandora, oh why?!

Pandora escaped a few times in my life unfortunately! And don’t get me started on the missing lids!

No I won’t Maggie, the swines are all partying somewhere…. Oh! I can tell you sorted yourself out each time Pandora played fast and loose! As we all have to 💜

I liked following your stream of consciousness. When you gave lids arms and legs, I thought you were going to skin as a lid like I did, but you went to all the lost lids. I keep looking for them too.

Lids do have a strange way of disappearing, Willow. They must be with all the missing socks. A great poem.

Lids are hanging out with lost socks. I bet they have parties and never invite us!

Fun use of the prompt. Don’t do it Pandora!

Well done! I frankly think that lids and socks are having an affair…
