Song Lyric Sunday: Laundry.

Jim Adams

Our host for Song Lyric Sunday, Jim Adams said: Last week we had Every Dog Has Their Day, with it being Fandango Sunday and our theme was Other, That, or This.  This week a rather different prompt where you are supposed to find songs where somebody is having sex, or talking about it, insinuating sex, or hinting about sex.

Well I didn’t have to think long my favourite singer/ songwriter , sound engineer and producer Imogen Heap has written two beautiful songs about Laundry?

I shall let Imogen tell you a little about how she made the album Sparks and the track Entanglement.

Here we are
Blood pressure rising fast
Air electric
Conduct this orchestraA micro utopia born
As the overture plays
This prelude to life long love
Our bodies entanglement takes
You all over me
Me all over youFearless heart
I’m gonna take care of you
Whether spark or spiral
I’ll pull the strength of sunsIt’s home where you hold me
So show me no mercy
On islands of cotton
Taboos get forgotten
Our body entanglement wants
You all over me (me, me, me)
Me all over you (you, you, you)
You all over me Oh, burst me into bloom I dare you to
Lose yourself in our embodiment
Ravage this palate of pinks and reds and
Dissolve into radianceIt’s home where you hold me
So show me no mercy
On islands of cotton
Taboos get forgotten
Our body entanglement wants
You all over me (me, me, me, me, me)
Me all over you, you, you, you
You all over

Now an older track, Between sheets from Imogen’s album Ellipse.

You and me, between sheets
It just doesn’t get better than this
The many windswept yellow stickies of my mind
Or the molten emotional front line
I couldn’t care less, I’m transfixed in this absolute blissHmmThe sweet sleepless tumbling night
Mmm and the morning on your skin, a loved up light
Tracing patterns in the maze of your back
Softly softly the goose bumps, like thatAnd then a kiss Mmm, maybe another MmmAnd another mmm
