Delta Flight 15 on 9/11

Please read 💜

❀ Welcome To LSS Attitude of Gratitude❀

This came across my email today. I had to share after I cleared my tears.

A MUST read! A great story.
It is 20 years since 9/11 and here is a wonderful story about that terrible day.
Jerry Brown Delta Flight 15… (true story)Here is an amazing story from a flight attendant on Delta Flight 15, written following 9-11:

On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, we were about 5 hours out of Frankfurt, flying over the North Atlantic. All of a sudden the curtains parted and I was told to go to the cockpit, immediately, to see the captain. As soon as I got there I noticed that the crew had that “All Business” look on their faces.
The captain handed me a printed message. It was from Delta’s main office in Atlanta and simply read, “All airways over the Continental United States are closed to commercial air traffic…

Song Lyric Sunday. Steadfastness.

Jim Adams.

It is Sunday again and time for Jim Adams to bring us Song Lyric Sunday. This week the prompt is: Devoted, Faithful, Honorable, Loyal, True and it is again suggested by Lady A.  Thank you Lady A.

Right lets get to work with a tip of the hat to a blogging friend Raven, great blog do visit him. He’s a great fan of Olivia Newton John and what else could I pick delicately out of the grease than Hopelessly Devoted to you.

Hopelessly Devoted to You” is a song recorded by English-born Australian singer Olivia Newton-John for Grease: The Original Soundtrack from the Motion Picture (1978). It was written and produced by John Farrar and originally performed by Newton-John in the film version of the musical Grease (1978). The song received an Oscar nomination as Best Original Song, losing to “Last Dance” from Thank God It’s Friday at the 51st Academy Awards.

It reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number seven on the Adult Contemporary chart. On the country chart, “Hopelessly Devoted to You” peaked at number 20 and was her first top 20 country hit in two years. Newton-John performed the song at the 21st Grammy Awards.

The song was not part of the original musical production (and was replaced with the 1950s standard “Since I Don’t Have You” for the 1994 revival), but it was added to the score for the 2007 revival and was included in the 2016 Grease: Live performance, sung by Julianne Hough.

In June 2004, Farrar recalled writing the song: “‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’: I spent the longest period writing the lyrics of any song I’ve ever written. Every thesaurus and every rhyming dictionary I had, just trying to really make it work properly”.

Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
I’m not the first to know
There’s just no getting over youI know I’m just a fool who’s willing
To sit around and wait for you
But baby, can’t you see there’s nothing else for me to do?
I’m hopelessly devoted to youBut now there’s nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I’m out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to youHopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to youMy head is sayin’, “Fool, forget him”
My heart is sayin’, “Don’t let go
Hold on to the end”, that’s what I intend to do
I’m hopelessly devoted to youBut now there’s no way to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
I’m outta my head
Hopelessly devoted to youHopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to youSource: Musixmatch.

Next up is Loyal Brave True. A really beautiful song from the marvelous film Mulan. The Lyrics are in the video.

Loyal Brave True” is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Christina Aguilera, taken from the soundtrack to the 2020 action drama filmMulan. Co-written by Billy Crabtree, Harry Gregson-WilliamsJamie Hartman and Rosi Golan, the song was released as a single on March 6, 2020 by Walt Disney Records.”Loyal Brave True” received a nomination for the Soundtrack Song of 2020 at the 46th People’s Choice Awards. It was also shortlisted as one of fifteen potential nominees for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song is a pop ballad, co-written by Billy Crabtree, Harry Gregson-Williams, Jamie Hartman and Rosi Golan. Hartman, who also produced “Loyal Brave True”, has previously worked with Aguilera on her seventh studio album Lotus (2012), writing and co-producing a dance-pop song “Army of Me”. It was Mitchell Leib, the president of music and soundtracks for the Walt Disney Studios, who opted Aguilera for the project, as she already recorded a song for the 1998’s Mulan. As Gregson-Williams disclosed, “From the demo to the final song, there was a massive leap in the intensity of the song, mainly due to the fact that Christina was going to sing it.” Hartman and Gregson-Williams incorporated classic Chinese music influences in the song—one of the instruments used during the recording sessions was guzheng.

Okay I had True in the above song title but I’mhumour me because I do love a touch of Spandau Ballet and True is a great song. It brings back memories of going back to being the mum of a baby who was born after an eight year break between the next boy and ten from the eldest.

True” is a song by the English new wave band Spandau Ballet. It was released on 15 April 1983 as the third single from their third studio album of the same name. The song was written by band member Gary Kemp. The song was a worldwide hit, peaking at number one in the UK Singles Chart on 30 April 1983 for four weeks, becoming the sixth-biggest-selling single of the year, and reaching the top ten in the weekly charts of many other countries. It is Spandau Ballet’s biggest hit and their only top ten hit in the U.S., reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in the autumn of 1983 and topping the adult contemporary chart for one week. In 2011, it received a BMI award as one of the most played songs in US history with four million airplays.

True funny how it seems
Always in time, but never in line for dreams
Head over heels when toe to toe
This is the sound of my soul
This is the soundI bought a ticket to the world
But now I’ve come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line?
Oh, I want the truth to be saidI know this much is true
I know this much is trueWith a thrill in my head and a pill on my tongue
Dissolve the nerves that have just begun
Listening to Marvin all night long
This is the sound of my soul
This is the soundAlways slipping from my hands
Sand’s a time of it’s own
Take your seaside arms and write the next line
Oh, I want the truth to be knownI know this much is true
I know this much is trueI bought a ticket to the world
But now I’ve come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line?
Oh, I want the truth to be saidI know this much is true
I know this much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is true
I know, I know, I know this much is trueThis much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is true
I know, I know, I know this much is trueThis much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is true
I know this much is trueThis much is true
This much is true
Come on, come on, come on, yeahThis much is true
This much is true
Oh I say, ooh I say come onThis much is true
This much is trueThis much is true
This much is trueSource: Musixmatch

Now to pick my Shouty song got to love some metal from the early 2000’s.

The Union of Crowns is the second studio album by British metalcore band Bury Tomorrow. The album was released on 13 July 2012 through Nuclear Blast. It was produced by Antony Smith and Pedro Teixeira. It is also the last album to feature the band’s founding lead guitarist Mehdi Vismara before he left the band in 2013. It was recorded within the first few months of 2012. The album’s release was delayed several times by the band in attempts to find a record label who could provide international distribution.Upon release, the album received mixed to positive reception from critics. With critics primarily praising the album song writing and sonic improvement from the band’s predecessor. Honourable Reign is track three on this album.

Reign upon me, show me how will I survive.
Try and tell me a way to feel alive.
Bring it back to life, to whole new heights
And tell me what is needed.
I know you’ll guide me home down this darkened road.Rain upon me, shower me with the tears of salvation.
Hold me close, hold me near.I find myself another year spent facing a wall,
My life, our path has never been shown, but we move on.
Fighting to keep our reign from them.
Fighting to keep our reign from them.We will fall into the blacker sense of reason.
Choose your side.
I hope to God you pick the right one this time.Reign upon me, how will I survive?
Try and tell me a way to feel alive.
Bring it back to life, to whole new heights
And tell me what is needed.
I know you’ll guide me home down this darkened road.We are The Crown!
We are The Crown!
We are The Crown!
We are The Crown!
We are The Crown!
Stand up and scream it loud!
We are The Crown!
We are The Crown!
Triumphant, immovable. In darkness we find ourselves.
We find ourselves.Reign upon me, how will I survive?
Won’t you test me, to carry all the strife
Bring it back to life, to whole new heights
And tell me what is needed.
I know you’ll guide me home down this darkened road.I knew we would pursue the right path, even if it was long.
We haven’t changed, we stay the same; ever strong.Show me the new day,
Show me the new day,
Know as long as our hearts are beating,
We will always find our way.Source: LyricFind.

Finally Faithful by Go West a seminal nineties group absolutely fab!

“Faithful” is a song by English pop duo Go West. The song is the opening track on the band’s fourth album, Indian Summer (1992), and serves as the album’s lead single. Written by the band and Martin Page and produced by Peter Wolf, the song reached the top 20 in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Its highest chart position was in Canada, where it peaked at number two on the week of 6 February 1993. It also reached number three on the adult contemporary charts of both Canada and the United States.

Faithful”

Oooooooh, I will

Don’t cry baby
Kiss me and say farewell
Nothing’s gonna break the spell
And if you’re thinking time will tell me girl
I want you to know..

Every minute of every single day
Even when I’m miles away (miles away)
I’ll keep the promises I made
I want you to know..

I will be faithful to my lover’s prayer
Faithful – and I don’t care
If the world around us gives up on love
I will make you see
You can count on me
I will be faithful –
Faithful to my lover’s prayer
To my lover’s prayer

Listen baby
You can lean on me
Though we sail on stormy seas
Nothing good comes easily
But I, I won’t let you down..

I will be faithful to my lover’s prayer
Faithful – and I don’t care
If the world around us gives up on love
I will make you see
You can count on me
I will be faithful –
Faithful to my lover’s prayer

Baby you can lean on me
You can lean on me
Baby you can lean on me
You can lean on me
Baby you can lean on me
You can lean on me
Baby you can lean on me
You can lean on me..

Trust me baby this is not goodbye
There’s no need for you to cry
What we’ve got’s too strong
To be denied, yeah

I will be faithful to my lover’s prayer
Faithful – and I don’t care
If the world around us gives up on love
I will make you see
You can count on me
I will be faithful to my lover’s prayer
gonna be faithful to the dream we share, to the dream we share
If the world around us gives up on love
I will make you see
You can count on me
I will be faithful
Faithful to my lover’s prayer
ooooh ooooh faithful, awww
faithful, faithful to the dream we share
ooooh ooooh faithful
gonna be faithful yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
ooooh ooooh faithful, oooh yeah
faithful, faithful
oooh oooooh faithful

baby you can lean on me
ooooh ooooh faithful
baby you can lean on me
ooooh ooooh faithful
