It’s time for LindaGHill’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday. It is Saturday and I am late posting this. Anyway Linda said:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “hope.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
Hope has been in short supply of late. But never let it be said that hope died, well actually I did once I even wrote about it here! Well I hope you can forgive me I was rather depressed at the time. Anyway, hope has been a tad thin on the ground of late, climate change, brexit, covid 19 and all her cousins! wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and mad and bad politicians. Somehow we have kept hope’s head above water, sometimes more than others. Well I hope I am not boring you but they do say hope springs eternal…. not really sure about that but it’s something to hold on to . I am off now…I am not saying what my hopes are for today… You might be able to guess.. but I can neither deny or confirm. I do hope you have a good Sunday.

Hope springs eternal Only pessimists deny Plying with fate infernal Every optimists learns to fly
The 1980’s were a weird time for me I had two boys and another on the way! To be honest , I was still not thirty and Adam Ant was was definitely something new ! My husband worked away alot, often dashing off at short notice. I did occasionally want to break free. Adam and the Ants was try escapism for me.
“Antmusic” is a song by English rock band Adam and the Ants, released as the third single in the UK in 1980 from the album Kings of the Wild Frontier (released 3 November 1980).
Antmusic” peaked at No. 2 in the UK in January 1981, being held off the top by the re-release of John Lennon‘s “Imagine” after his murder in New York City on 8 December 1980. In Australia, the single spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Kent Music Report and earned the band platinum certification for sales of over 100,000 copies. It also reached No. 2 in South Africa, No. 4 in Ireland, and No. 6 in New Zealand. In the North America, the song reached No. 14 on the US Rock Albums & Top Tracks chart, as well as number 19 on the National Disco Action Top 30 chart (alongside “Dog Eat Dog” and “Kings of the Wild Frontier“), but it did not find success in Canada.
The music video to “Antmusic” featured the group playing in a discothèque with a giant juke box, and persuading the young audience to turn away from disco music and dance to the new-styled ‘Antmusic’. The music video was directed by Steve Barron.

I’m looking straight through It’s so sad when you’re young To be told you’re having funSo unplug the jukebox and do us all a favor That music’s lost its taste so try another flavor Antmusic, antmusic, antmusic, antmusicWell, I’m standing here, what do I see?
