The beauty of words from Sue.

Life Lines: Poems from a Reflection by Sue Vincent. A beautiful read.
ISBN 9781910478066

I read this collection of over fifty poems, at random, reading several aloud to Hubby as we’d settle down for the night. He particularly liked Bedwyr’s Song and Odin’s Ravens.
I could share in the dawns and sunsets, feel the love, loss and yearning, smile at the gentle humour of Drink the Dawn, and identify with A Mother’s Hands as my own are so like my mother’s.  I felt the sadness of Flowers, dreams of memories, but it was Rombald’s Moor that left the biggest mark, the sense of home and belonging was overwhelming.
Poems from a reflection is a perfect title as although we may see the same things at a precise moment in time, we interpret them differently. Like the dawn and sunset, each is unique, as are we, but Sue’s personal thoughts are…

#TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 216 #SYNONYMSONLY

Hi everyone it is Tuesday and time for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday. This week I am going to answer Colleen’s challenge to try a new disapline. I am going to attempt a Sedoka. What is a Sedoka?

Ken, from Rivrvlogr shares a Sedoka, which is an unrhymed poem composed of two katauta. A katauta is able to standalone, with three lines and a syllable pattern of 5-7-7. A Sedoka therefore has the syllable count: 5-7-7, 5-7-7. Each katauta must be able to be read independently, but also create a cohesive singular work in the Sedoka.

Today’s words are from the lovey Sally Cronin and I must use them synonymously.

Eager and Hope.

Spring seems impatient
Ready to bust and blossom
Full of anticipation
Winter’s not done yet.
White her icy cloak folded
Any second to unfurl

Getting there!

Good News.

Sue Vincent's Daily Echo

Well, at last! The three books of the Triad of Albion are now live, in paperback and for Kindle… and illustrated in black and white, which finally takes the printing costs, and therefore the sales price, down to a sensible level. It has been bugging us for years… but we have been so busy writing books, that re-writing, redesigning and re-issuing seemed to slip a bit far down the line.

But there is nothing like a deadline to get you moving. Especially when it appears to be a pretty literal one…

In these first three books, Don and Wen stumble across mysteries in the landscape, following the flight of birds along prehistoric pathways to find strange stories hidden in plain sight upon the walls of mediaeval churches. Doors open through time and vision as the two friends find themselves walking the Living Land with people from the far-distant past.
