6 years ago I visited a friend in a psychiatric unit : One wall was decorated with the Tree of Hope logo. This is what I saw and felt.

Lost souls wandering
Bored staff pondering.
Angry women strutting
Locked door are shutting
Tempers are fraying.
Any point in praying?
One step forward three back .
Covers for the care they lack.
Man shouting he needs his phone
His eyes ask will he find his way home

I wander if that unit has improved in six years. I doubt it … Especially not now with Covid.

It’s so sad…. such places are usually poorly staffed to begin with. I can’t imagine how much worse it must be during this Covid nightmare. 💔😥

I know of someone who needed mental health care a few months ago. The facility told the family they would not be getting much/any care just housing because of the virus taking all available medical staff away from the facility. It is so sad,

Very sad. Very sad indeed. I feel sometimes some nurses even in general or specialist wards are terrible. I know their job is hard and low paid. But if you are in a caring profession then care. These things make me feel really sad
