Thursday photo prompt: Guarded #writephoto

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a pathway through the bracken of the moors towards a distant horizon crowned by a hill. The path is flanked by a huge rock…

This week’s prompt ~ Guarded

After a life’s struggle
The confusion and muddle
Led me to this place.
The years have left their trace.

My way is now barred
The guardian old and scarred.
He’s been there years
His stone face carved by tears

Not surpprised to see me
He smiles, at last I am free.
Towards the distant hills
Shedding all my ills.

This is part of Sue Vincent’s #writephoto

I have had three attempts at this post, I finally thought okay then I see I have used Guardian instead of Guarded.. Sorry I have go with this my brain hurts.

Willow, you are really good at these prompts challenges. I think this quite deep, old scares now free the guard is down and life is all well. The guard that protected something in the past, that finally has no place in the current life.

Guardian fits fine as far as I’m concerned.

I always go where the muse leads. Guardian/ Guarded – mox/ nix or it really doesn’t matter. What matters is that you were inspired and wrote a beautiful piece.
