Song Lyric Sunday. P and G.

Jim Adams

It’s a new day, it’s a new year and it’s Sunday so it’s time for Jim Adams Song Lyric Sunday. January 3, 2021 – P.G. (title of song must start with the letter P or G)

So I am going to start with James Blunt and Postcards. I love this song regardless of what’s going on it always lifts me. Here is a cute and clever video.

Postcards” is a song recorded by British singer-songwriter James Blunt. It was released on 19 May 2014, as the third single from his fourth studio album Moon Landing (2013). The song was written by James BluntWayne HectorSteve Mac and produced by Martin Terefe.

Now for the letter G. I picked one of my favourite singer songwriters Imogen Heap and Goodnight and Go.

Another very cute song ….listen to the lyrics it is about a stalker really. She works in a cafe, he comes in every evening but apart from meaningless chit chat he never noticed her…’s always say goodnight and go. She follows him home and watches him! She lays plans to meet him and they will fall in love and live happily never after. …but that’s only in her mind! And it’s always …say Goodnight and Go!

Goodnight and Go” is a song by British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, the second single from her 2005 album Speak for Yourself. The single received a little more push and promotion in the US than “Hide and Seek“, and the music video received airplay on VH1Jeff Beck plays guitar on the track.

And here is a Lyric version.

Happy first Sunday of the year to everyone .

I may have spent a lot of my time hiding under a rock, as this is the first time that I listened to Postcards and it is very good. Imogen Heap has such a distinctive voice and I can see why she is your favorite.

Love James Blunt, but that video of Imogen is well….the character has some serious issues. Obsessed passion? Anything with clowns turns a nice scene to creepy, and they really pulled the vibe off in the video to match the lyrics. Great choices! 🙂
