I was nominated by my friend Geoff Lepard to one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “in the corner.” Write about whatever the image or thought of “in the corner” brings to mind. Have fun.

I went to a convent school from the age of four years until I was fifteen years old, when I left for an apprenticeship as a window dresser.

Now from kindergarten through to upper transition the punishment for any misdemeanor was to be sent to stand in the corner. Like a vase or stool we were made to turn our back on the class and face the wall in the corner.

I hated this it was to me as a tot the worse thing that could happen. I soon found out there was worse. The ruler, we had to hold out the palm of hands and the Nun would hit us really hard up to six times! The ruler was kept in the corner of the Nun’s desk.

Happy days ….not.
