This evening Martin at A Gap in the Cloud suggest I try an Acrostic Poem entitled Bah Humbug. Well what’s a girl to do?
Bah! Humbug a Christmas Acrostic Poem.

Blast I don’t like Christmas tide
All the clamour makes me want to hide.
Hope and charity have lost their stride.
Hauling home the endless shopping
Uncaring of the homeless, it is shocking
Must get, must have it’s all hype
Blaring adverts brash and trite
Unkind, selfish, too much spent on Christmas fare.
God’s gift forgotten, most don’t give a care.

Writing Acrostics so they make poetry is challenging – Willow nailed it

Thank you so much Jez. It’s something sadly I believe is happening π

I’m not a christian I think you figured that out, and as an outsider just feel bemused by it all as to why it’s all about massive amounts of presents and food. There seems to be no connection to the so the spiritual at all. And that whatever one believes is heartbreaking

I am not a Christian with a capital C. I hope I am a caring loving person, I believe in Gaia and God. I love the Christmas story I wish people could see the beauty within it. I wish I could do more to help the homeless and those less well off. I wish there was more Goodness in the world and less averice more hope and less religion. But I am not a listen to voice that’s heard. We can hope though, be safe be happy .π

You are a beautiful person Willow, never doubt that. I love the Yule story, much the same tale of birth, light, promise and love β Iβm kinda glad it doesnβt have the same commercial greed factor added on. This year is a bit different for me and all I know it isnβt going to be a happy thing but I will be content in me. I canβt say more here as itβs a private thing and my words get read.
The voice of the kind and thoughtful is not one the powers that be want to hear, however a word pf kindness can make a world of difference to one person and that counts.

Yes it does so we must all be kind to each other. Christmas can be sad and lonely even when surrounded by those we love. .. Christmas will be different here too, the boys can’t come, so we won’t see the Grandchildren except by video. We are not alone in this but it doesn’t make it any easier.
Your right somethings are best unsaid kept private people can twist and hurt. Oh! For a good world or maybe a megaphone?

We live in an age of consumerism. This scourge seems to hit people who had little in the past the hardest. There is no sense of perspective or balance. Well done, Willow.
Dec 07, 2020 @ 06:53:23
Thank you Robbie I agree. We have seen it deteriorate over the years to a meaningless spend festival. No meaning, no love and definitely no compassion for the poor among us.πππ
Dec 07, 2020 @ 06:16:19
You did that brilliantly, sis! π
Dec 07, 2020 @ 06:49:25

The true spirit of Christmas has been reduced to a ghost. Hoping it doesn’t disappear altogether!
Dec 07, 2020 @ 07:33:37
Yes indeed, it’s a sad world isn’t it.ππ
Dec 07, 2020 @ 19:45:20
