Sue Vincent’s #writephoto. Christmas Lights

Christmas Lights

lights

Fingers almost blue, toes numb like her soul.
Fear has her in it’s grip , she was no longer whole.
The lights twinkle on the water and the snow
Eyes closed she stands silently rocking to and throw .
Warmth and home seemed a million miles away.
Under this bridge damp and bitter her only place to stay.
Tears cannot fall when frozen but they hurt as much.
She longed for a gentle word or loving touch.
Watching the lights on the water dance.
Like little fairies they leap and prance.
Music floats across the water to her ears
Laughter and an happy voices, she hears.
Tired, so tired she slumps down on the frozen ground
Watches the lights from the house praying never to be found.
Maybe she could of spoken out but she had not dared.
Who would believe her who would of cared
Slowly life slips away from her grasp.
Suddenly she is held in a warm, kind clasp.
A soft voice takes her to a happier place
She opens her eyes and sees God’s face.

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 38: (BASH) in the D rhyme line.

Ronovan Writes Decima Challenge Image
It is Wednesday and time for Ronovanwrite’s Weekly Déima challenge. Ron said “You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt of (BOUND and Sway). and this Décima Challenge of BASH in the D rhyme line. This means you could write a haiku post using the prompt words. Then do a Décima post using this week’s prompt uniting the two with a common message.
The 2 are separate but can be combined if you choose to do so.” I do choose too.

Bound and Sway. Décima.

Bound and tied, I am your plaything.
I am caught in your magic sway.
Your indulgence is all I crave
Play my senses, til my heart sings
Such delight your hands give me wings.
I sway and moan in ecstasy Use me now I’m no longer free
I beg for more, my hopes you dash.
Letting me fall with a loud bash.
You leave me breathless and empty.

#TANKA TUESDAY Weekly #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 209, Last challenge of 2020

Good morning and welcome to Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. Colleen said : “For the LAST poetry challenge of 2020, I want you to write a poem about hope, using your favorite poetry form (it doesn’t have to be syllabic). Please make these poems inspirational to others.

No negativity and No politics! We’ve all had enough politics to last us another lifetime.

After you’ve written your poem, tell us why the specific form you chose is your favorite. Why does that form resonate with you? If it’s a new form, teach us how to write that specific form.

I’ll stop by and comment throughout the week as time allows. There will be NO recap post on Monday, January 4, 2021. Make sure and visit the other participant’s post through Mr. Linky or from the ping-backs on the challenge post.

Tanka Tuesday will resume on January 18, 2021.”

New Year New Hope

Harvengers of hope and light arrives
Open the doors for their entry
Praise the welcome gifts with joy
Enter the new year now
Full of confidence
Undo all ills
Let ties of
Love bind
You.

Today I have chosen my two favourite forms of poetry, the Nonet and the Acrostic Poem . This is an Acrostic Nonet. I love the way these two disaplines concentrate the mind. When put them together I feel I have achieved a small triumph.

Be blessed and safe everyone happy New Year.

Christmas Fairy Blues.

Christmas Fairy Blues.

It’s not fair it’s a shame

Christmas has come and gone again.

I am cold and put on weight

All those chocolates I normally HATE!

The holly has all gone from the halls,

And someone broken my best baw-balls!

There is a bit of Christmas tree

Stuck up part of my anatomy.

It is cold and bloody wet

But no one gives a damn about me I bet.

No one worries about the Christmas fairy

As long as she is cute and pert and not BIG AND HAIRY.

The snow has gone and turned to slush

The dogs  are eyeing  me up  would help if I SHOUTED MUSH!

Santa came, he was drunk, and rough

And now this fairy is UP THE DUFF.
