Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 30: (EXHALE) in the C rhyme line.

Ronovan chose the word EXHALE this week. Exhale, two syllables but you can use synonyms. Ronovan also said “You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt of (COLD & Fall). Mine is here. and EXHALE. I chose to use the words and theme from my Haiku and weave them in with the Décima prompt.

The waiting room a Décima

Escaping the chambers of time.
Froze, trapped in icy suspension.
We fall, full of good intention.
Who invented this plan divine
Within glass we hear hours chime.
Trying to ride the sand we fail
Caught in despair we just exhale.
To carry on is just futile
Satan watches us with a smile.
We to insucnificence pale.

I like your description of failing to ride the sand of time in the hourglass.

This is a very interesting poem, Willow. I hope you and hubby are well. I believe you are in lockdown from tomorrow although you haven’t really been out and about much anyway.
