“If you can keep your head when all about you ,   Are losing theirs and blaming it on you.
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too.”

Rudyard Kipling.

This is part of LindaGHill’s One-Liner Wednesday.

I’ve loved this poem since I was about 12 years old. In my early 20s, I found an “If for Girls.” with different words. It was all sugar and spice and made me angry. The original poem by Rudyard Kipling is good for girls and women, too. Maybe it could just end with, you’ll be a grown up, my child.

Hi JoAnna, I agree that would be a perfect ending. The words ring to true and apply to everyone. It’s a poem greater than than Kipling realised , I think. And though so of it’s time though timeless. I am glad you enjoyed my choice.💜
