Welcome to Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday. It’s the first of the month and you know what that means!

Poets, choose your own syllabic poetry form, theme, words, images, etc. It’s up to you!
My poem this week is a personal one, a Gogyoka. It’s about the situation I find myself in. It’s not about self isolation or lockdown though all that does not help.

They say hope springs eternal
And ivy clings to walls
Words spoken cause my tears to fall
Least said soonest mended
Mouth shut none offended.
