What Day is it Anyway? Thursday, March 26th, 2020

Why is Linda hosting this post.

She said.”Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

Why am I writing this post ? Because it’s day Seven since we have been told by Bossa to stay home and socially distance ourselves. We are all in different circumstances and yet we are all in the same boat.

As ever the day started the same, early, cramp, sickness…let Ruby out, feed her! Feed hubby, we took our walk with Ruby. Yes if I am going to lose track of the days it will be the mornings.

Today I took some photos of the old tree trunks that the gardener’s at the wood have carved! A butterfly, a squirrel and a very aggrieved looking rabbit.

See what I mean about the rabbit ?W we got home I cleaned the downstairs toilet and the bathroom. Then I did the the rest of the house. I rang two friends who are on their own. They are both fine and sound cheerful so that’s good. Rang one sister spoke to other via wordpress so they are both good.

By eleven o’clock the sickness had passed so I had some breakfast. I did the washing and hung it out. Hubby decided to brave the shops, got most of my list but no flour which is a shame as I wanted to bake but hay ho small worries in this situation. Fed Hubby ,we had quiet afternoon but busy . I am going to cook a feta cheese and spinach cannelloni which was lurking in the depths of the freezer, which is good as it made room for the shepherds pies we cooked Tuesday. We are doing well with cooking because we like to cook from fresh. I have put up a photo of the cannelloni defrosted before cooking. We spoke to all the boys again this afternoon and our youngest and his two boys videoed us again it was lovely to see them all.

and here it is cooked and the salad.

It was tasty, anyway all eaten and cleared away now. Just having a glass of wine before it’s time to go to the door and clap for the NHS.

Be safe all of you

Be very safe.

Thursday photo prompt: Wistful #writephoto

This week’s prompt ~ Wistful

For visually challenged writers, the image shows the early morning mists rising over an empty moorland scene beneath a soft pink sky.

The Earth breathed a sigh

All that was human gone

Birds the only inhabitants of the sky.

The animals and her at last alone.

Mother Nature shed a tear.

Was this guilt, that she felt

Or just relief at the end to her fear.

She had shown her strength with the last blow she’d dealt!

This morning was the same as the rest of the week so no need to repeat it all. Let Ruby out, fixed breakfast. Took Rubyfor her walk. Though it was a cold and frosty start it was a beautiful day.

© willowdot21 another quiet walk.

Spoke to my friend who is determined to keep fit, she had set up her gym equipment in her conservatory. Well she stepped on to the treadmill, slipped and fell and now has the a very bruised face and the biggest black eye I have ever seen. Hold on ! No relax I did not see her, she sent me a photo!

After our walk it was home to house work and hubby and Ruby were gardening in the backgarden. For lunch I made Hubby scrambled egg on toast.

So I spoke with my sisters Frankie and Teresa, Teresa told me that our brothers were well too. Heard from the boys too. This evening we contacted Hubby’s Mum and then our youngest son and wife and the two little ones video called us. It was lovely to see the whole family 💜

Time for a positive song ?

Stay safe.

Okay I am a day behind but, yesterday was a really busy one..mm so what day is it anyway?

Woke up between 5am and 6am with cramp, tried to get back to sleep then the sickness started, I was up by seven fifteen no point in trying to sleep. The sickness in the morning usually passes after I get up and move around. I have had it now since I broke my back the second time, ten years ago. Let Ruby out to do her business, she is always delighted to see me. It a beautiful day again, sun in the blue sky.

Hubby got up and when checked his phone he found two worrying emails, about Ruby’s food. Our firm of choice is in Germany. They said that they had our order but could not say when it could be dealt with. The other was our fall back choice and their email said that they were closing their site for four days as they could not cope with orders. Action was needed Ruby needs food!

feed me ! © willowdot21

So we rang the local pet food retailers and luckily for us we found our nearest outlet had two bags of not quite Ruby’s food, she has a delicate stomach and has Royal Canin light. They only had the Royal Canin joint care but that will do, we can’t be picky, so hubby dashed off only stopping to dress and clean his teeth! Luckily he got two bags for Ruby fingers crossed we have nearly two months of food for her. Hopefully her order will arrive by then .

Food for Ruby secured we took her for walk, to our quite place. It’s so erie walking around an empty woodland .

© willowdot21

We got back and I did my usual checks on family and friends. Hubby did a morning’s gardening and I hoovered and washed all my floors and did some cooking.

Then a lady who lives near who is blind as is her partner rang. She wanted some shopping and her gas topped up. As it was important we sorted that out for her. I have to say it was rather stressful as not all people are not keep the proper social distancing. So we got them sorted out, though they also did not seem to grasp the idea, that we were going to leave the food on the door step and post the gas card and key back through their door.

They have a list of phone numbers of young healthy people who are ready and waiting to help. I know this might sound mean but hubby is in the wrong age group to be out in shops and I am not far off it either. We must look after ourselves as well. I don’t want either of us to get the virus, I don’t want anyone to get the virus. We will help anyone if we can but we are not going to put ourselves at unnecessary risk again. We will shop once a week and exercise Ruby, apart from that we will do as asked and stay in. When we shop we can pick up for others if needed. But no more risk taking when people have help on hand but are too proud to ask for it.

Early evening we cooked some meals for the freezer, we make a good team when we try. Then we had steak and salad for dinner. We were exhausted mentally and physically. Middle son, rang a few times, and eldest son rang a couple of times he is still shopping in small shops. I am afraid I lost it with him, and told him he is at risk! To get out and stock up at a big store then I can relax…..a few rude words! He rang later and said it was all done, sorry and I can stop worrying. ….okay I went over the top but he’s one of my boys!

Our middle lad who has been sent home from work for 12 weeks because he is at risk, found out today his and his colleagues have to take a drop in pay and shift allowance that is happening to a lot of people.

The youngest lad who has two children and has been working from home for a while, told me he had printed leaflets offering help and giving his phone number. He said he goes out each morning to see if anyone has put a leaflet out, signalling a request for hope. He has already had some phone calls.

After dinner I whatapped a friend who is on her own, we had a video call and it cheered us both up. It’s the little things that help a lot. So reach out and talk to friends and family.

Be safe out there.

Stars

Tinkle

Like Diamonds

In the night sky

I escape in dreams.

Seeing all I fly by

Dreams sparkle brightly always.

Stars thrown like dice scattered like rice.

Thrown just like a wager or a bet

Stars in the night sky shine like true diamonds.

It is 17.08 and it been a beautiful day weather wise, the sun is shining. So we were up at the usual and had breakfast, and let Ruby out. My sister in law rang and we had a chat, then we took Ruby for her walk at our deserted place, we only saw one person but I am getting nervous and eventhough we took her twice today, I am thinking we may have to stop walking her out side and just use the garden .. we shall see.

This was not taken today.© willowdot21

So we got home and Hubby was on the phone to the lads helping them make decisions, about, work, health issues and life in general. I went upstairs and cleaned the bathroom and bedrooms within an inch of their lives.! Then I washed my hair, the hair I cut the other day!

hair washed. © willowdot21.

Hubby then went out to the garden and pruned and tidied up, I have to say it does look lovely.

We had a delivery from Amazon, new scales. They are so nice, very chic.

Day three of the stew we had dumplings too.

Above tonights dinner, day three of the beef stew and dumplings and it was yummy.

This video brought me to tears, it has a strong message so whichever country you are in it is relevant to us all.

So it’s been a really good day. Time for some happy music . Now we cannot hold hands but we will be able to again …I hope and pray. Not today but one day.

Be safe out there.
