What Day is it Anyway? Friday, March 20th, 2020

Why is Linda hosting this post.

She said.”Because if you’re like me and stuck at home already, or if you’re going to be like me soon, the days of the week are going to be hell to keep track of. We have a wonderful community here on WordPress, and I’m sure many people are feeling nervous and/or isolated. I want to make sure every one of us has somewhere to congregate and someone to talk to.

Why am I writing this post ? Because it’s day five since we have been told by Bossa to stay home and socially distance ourselves. We are all in different circumstances and yet we are all in the same boat.

Today should of been day three of our Caribbean holiday. Sun ,sea, beach and cocktails?

Where we should of been
Where we actually are!

Well I can’t change that can I? They shut St. Lucia down a few hours before we were due to fly there. 🥴. So today, up early and fed Ruby and let her into the garden, made breakfast, checked on Mother in Law, by phone. Hubby took Ruby for a walk, cleaned the house, number two son rang he’s okay, phoned my cousin to see how she is. Then we had to pick hubby’s car up from the garage.. that was exciting as I got out the house and got to drive ….it’s so quiet out there really odd.

Got home and started to make stew and soup, veg soup and beef stew. We actually prefer lamb stew but beef was all we had.

Rang my sister, Teresa and then my sister Frankie, who has been very ill with a chest infection. Sisters checked on, son number one rang … long chat, he lives in Brighton and is working from home and he is easily depressed.

Then son number two rang again he has a job dealing with the public, he is in an at risk catagory health wise. Finally after a fortnight of worry he has been sent home for a minimum of twelve weeks. We will be in touch by phone and Skype .

Time to walk Ruby again my turn this time when we return hubby had taken some food over to a friend who was unwell and unable to get any in the shops.

Results of panic buying.

Now is the time for being helpful and kind to friends and neighbours. Then it was time to clear up again, then another friend rang asking for some help. After that hubby cut the lawn and I prepared dinner. Son number three rang he, his wife and our two beautiful grandsons are all fine, the schools closed today indefinitely.

We had dinner , I cooked stir fried prawn bean and broccoli.

Now we are sitting back and relaxing I have to say today was busier than yesterday ….even so what day is it anyway?

Well that’s it for today.

Lets have a happy song. She knows you know, by Imogen Heap.

Come and join in at LindaGHill’s place 💜

Be safe out there.

Dinner looks yummy! Sounds like you’re staying well connected, Willow. So sorry to hear you missed your vacation. 😦 Probably for the best, though. Everyone I know here who went away last week is stuck in absolute isolation now, relying on others to get their groceries and things.

Hi Linda, what would we do without social media, it would be really hard then wouldn’t it. I live this idea of yours Sis it’s a great way to keep in touch. I am glad I am home safe and not stuck at some airport 💜💜💜

Just a few minutes ago, I looked at my calendar and thought, “Now that I’ll be home 24/7, it’s going to be really hard to keep track of my days.” Thanks for the post, Willow. This is also the first time, ever, that I’ve been grateful for social media – how else can I communicate with family and friends during a lockdown?

I know it is really so unknown to us, I have to admit I am scared but I am not going to cower. We have phones and laptops we can all keep in touch 💜

I’m glad you are home instead of stuck–regardless of the beauty there, home is better.

I love all the ways we can keep in contact with our loved ones. I face-timed with a couple friends today. We talked about the plagues of the past that had no phones or computers. How hard that had to be!

My kids and I have mostly phoned or texted each other. I, too, have a son who’s in a highly needed job and they keep him hopping 24/7. He’s bipolar and is about to burst with the lack of sleep or ability to self-care.

We finally had a good enough day to walk around the yard for a few minutes. I think, in spite of the snow on the north side of the building, that spring is here! Yay! Hang it there! By the way, the food looks delicious!

Thank you , it’s so good to be able to check on everyone. I hope your son will be okay it’s very difficult to cope with bipolar it’s not fair on his employers to pressure him so much. Our youngest has been working from home for a fortnight now , he and our daughter in law will be busy as now the schools and nurseries are closed! Luckily they have a big house and garden . The other two boys are single, the eldest likes to be out with friends but is sensible, the middle lad has been sent home for 12weeks at least, as he works at Heathrow dealing with passengers all shift. He has health issues, acute asthma and intestinal problems… He is worrying that he will be penalised…. I do feel for him, he has already had an awful chest infection in the last fortnight, he managed to a Dr and it was not Corvid19. He is chatting with hubby on the phone now.
It a beautiful day here cold but sunny, we took Ruby for a walk at a popular spot near us and it was totally deserted.
Please take care and be well and we can all look forward to our next posts. 💜💜💜

It is so odd when you do go out, there no traffic, like none.
