Pack , Unpacked.

I have unpacked my suitcase

Of a tan about me there’s no trace.

I was totally beach ready,

From my toes to my heady.

My toes and my nails, sparkly green

Hands red raw from washing them clean.

I had bought beach clothes

Some of the shades matched my toes.

Tomorrow was the day we would fly

I am down but refuse to cry.

The Caribbean is now out of bounds

St. Lucia has closed her door

I agree that she has good grounds

But I did want some sun and what’s more

It’s a beautiful place, I know as I’ve been there before.

To tell you the truth, though sad

I am in a strange way glad

The foreign office said you best not go

We can’t guarantee getting you home,so

I am happy to stay in cold Blighty

Dark times, for us all, problems mighty.

So lets be kind not greedy,

Leave goods for the needy.

So I was not meant to escape

This really might sound pathetic but the last three days have been very stressful. Not only the holiday but all the stress of the new Government restrictions set for our own good. Be safe be kind be happy. I am still scared.

Good poem, and although I know you’re disappointed about your trip, best to stay safe.
A friend in the next road was due to go to Spain today. He couldn’t cancel as he’d lose his money, BUT as the airlines have refused to fly, he’s covered. Not so lucky form someone who booked through a paper for a cheap holiday……………. no insurance, so they lost it all. It’s OK to be scared Willow. I know I am, but I refuse to let it get the better of me. I get angry instead! How’s Tess?

My holiday in Austria was cancelled today. All my social groups i.e.Choirs exercise and house group have also been stopped. life is going to be very boring. Tomorrow the house group is going to try a what’s app session! At the moment I can still visit John. He was not good today…..I coudn’t engage him at all. Tomorrow I am going to get my nails done. The thought of having to stay at home for up to 3 months is rather daunting! Watching the last episode of the Split now Tess x

Thank you it’s not really heart breaking, a shame yes but it’s more . I am more upset at the state the world is in today. I pray for you and everyone to be safe πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Fear keeps us on our toes, but if you’ve done all you can to keep yourself safe, then take some time to relax and breathe deeply. Limit your intake of ‘news’, (hard to do, I know, when it’s all around you, but the frenetic pace of it will even out after a week or two) and stay connected via the interwebz, to all the people who matter to you. πŸ™‚

Of course it is a bummer that you are not going now but let’s face it, you are better off staying at home for now…
Perfect poem, though! And I agree, St. Lucia is gorgeous…

So sorry, Willow. We have also had to cancel our trip to Cape Town in April.
